Thanks WRP for managing our eagerness ;)
The admin team has completed a thorough review of ALL the submitted replays (within 2 hours of the deadline) so if you haven't gotten a PM you can safely assume you made the cut and your replay was accepted. Fetchy is actually still in business, but any replays that come in at this point will be held and processed with the next batch.

As far as you refreshing this thread to see your division assignments... I don't think you're going to see that for a bit. The statistical magic has to run first and then the admins need to deliberate/discuss which could take a bit given we are all in different time zones and it isn't a live meeting. If you are in need of sleep I suggest you grab some now.

Where will the division placings come up first?

I can make a sound track of squealing tires at Willow while we wait. After all those reviews, that sound must have been maddening.

Unsurprisingly (I consider myself to be a relatively smooth driver,) I didn't create much tire squeal in the Renault. My specialty lies in FF cars and 4WD cars, but I'm more concerned with my BMW lap, since there was a bit of oversteer - not too much, but enough that I might be two or three tenths slower than I would be in a car more suited to my style... Or maybe I didn't make too much noise because I was just slow. :P I don't know yet.

That said, I feel sorry for the admins, because - as you say - it must've been pretty maddening to them from the other people's laps. Still, they're running a good show. 👍

I could be wrong but I recall there being a thread devoted to it for GT5. GT5 WRS Registry or something like that. Again, may be wrong but new drivers and promotions thread is for people who qualify after the initial qualifying period and promotions.
You are correct. There will be a dedicated, newly posted thread that lists the registry and placements.

It appears our admin team is an effective team :) and we are way ahead of where we expected to be. Our goodly statistician, @Vaxen, has said that with luck, all things being well, he will have initial provisional division placements ready at some point tonight, within a few hours of the deadline. There will inevitably be some entries that have not been officially verified, hence provisional... but the fact we can announce anything at all within such a short time is nothing less than amazing.

Did you all fall asleep?

;)

A small announcement
-----------------------

Chris better hope nothing goes amiss with our process... we're sending him to the podium to address you guys if there is a delay while we hide in the bunker.

Where is he now, a true politician makes a statement then disapears :sly::lol:.

Great respect though for the time and effort you lot have put into setting this up in your free time, its much appreciated .

We need to discuss them internally first, come to a consensus for the correct cutoffs etc.

So yes, we have an initial provisional placement and we will communicate it with you guys as soon as it's final 👍

Only joking... you guys are doing a great job 👍

I went to bed and left them to it... :mischievous:

We haven't reached consensus on what the divisional cut-offs should be and its not as clear cut as we'd first hoped it would be. Since we're all in different time zones, gathering to make a decision like that can be a bit problematic.

Y'all wouldn't want to end up in the wrong divisions now would you? :sly:

I will be happy with whatever division I get appointed to, being lower ranked will only feed my 'competition mode'.

Oh, and welldone by the admins, to handle everything this fast. Altough nowing you guys, I did not expect anything less.

Now it is time to fiddle arround with the new upgrade....

This is off topic, but with everyone following this thread, it seems to be the place to put it. It is in regards to a glitch when loading 1.03. The following is from the gran turismo site.

Steps to reproduce:
1.
When Gran Turismo 6 is launched while connected to PSN, a message will appear on screen informing the users that "the latest update data for this software has been found (Version 1.03)".

2.
Once accepted (by pressing the X button while selecting [OK]), a “Please wait...” message will be displayed. After a few seconds, the PlayStation®3 system will emit 3 acoustic signals and restarts automatically.

3.
At this point, some users may receive a message stating that the system was not shut down correctly last time. The system will ask then to perform a system file check and then the reboot is completed.

4.
Users will be prompted again to download Update 1.03, whether they received the message in step 3 or not.

Procedure to avoid this issue:
To avoid this issue, please accept to download the Update by selecting [OK] within 2 seconds of its appearance on screen when prompted. This will update the game properly.

If you wait longer than 2 seconds, please decline the Update by pressing the Circle button when the message in step 1 is displayed, then select [Back] in the subsequent "Sign-In to PSN" screen. The game will start, quit the game using the PS button while in the [My Home] screen and follow the procedure described above.

Note:
In step 3 you may also receive a message “Report this problem to Sony Computer Entertainment?”. You can select either [Yes] or [No] to proceed.

We deeply apologise for the inconvenience this issue may have caused.

Thought I'd mention this here because a) it's well subscribed b) it was first discovered by two WRSers @Vagabond and @Stotty so it's kinda relevant.

But anyway, the custom rim glitch has been fixed in update 1.03 - where cars with wider rear wheels had new rims the rear wheels went skinny like the front. This has now been fixed so you can put rims on cars if you want without worrying.

Question for the admins whilst they're on a replay checking tea break - how many submissions were there?
Roughly 300, which is down from the 385 we had on GT5.

Chris is new to all of this, his post yesterday might have been a bit pre-mature. We're working through decisions on divisional cutoffs. I expect that we'll come to decisions today, and have the registry posted by tonight (West coast tonight), but I would count anything before that as a pleasant surprise for all of you. [/PD]
