Merry Xmas and a Happy new year everyone! Good to see a few old faces still around.

Hopefully I will be back onto GT in the near future. I can not believe its been 3 years since I last played Gran Turismo.
I don't even have a wheel or set up anymore. I don't even have the game.

Hope to see you on the track in the near future and see what this new GT sport is all about.

I have to say I've thought of you since the release.

Great to hear from you and I hope to see you (off in the distance) on track, soon.

Hey Mate! Happy new year to you as well!!! And yes, get back into it, would be great to see you back on the tarmac!!!
I'm glad I did finally, also had a long break fro GT. My fatty got the YLOD, just as the PS4 had come out (Sony? :odd:). So I got the PS4 only to discover my G27 is no longer supported and I refused to support this whole G29 ripoff... so I kind of just fell away from racing games. But recently I got new gear, GTSport, pulled my racing seat out the basememt and found out the WRS is still there with the same awesome crowd, great new people, and a lot stronger, too!

Hey folks

Well I have my first go at GT Sport yesterday.. Maaaaaan I felt like a Noob.. Even doing the driving school

I did a few of the online daily races and it was good to get back into the swing of things. I'm liking the whole safety rating thing they have introduced all though I did still come across a load of plonkers looking to crash into everybody

Will be looking to do those Test events (Nations cup etc) this week and see how that goes

Uhh, did you seriously just start a week ago? I've been playing this game since release and you're already dominating DR:A Manufacturer's races! You were literally faultless at Dragon Trail and I was 5 seconds behind at the end with all the others way behind.

Think I'll give that replay a bit of study.

Ah that was you was it.. Skilled_Jack?? @Vredefort

Yeh I haven't played Gran Turismo for a good 3.5 years and picked up the game last week and a G29 and plugged it in and away I went.

There are some damn quick drivers out there in GT Sport and some of the times I am seeing on the leader boards are insane.

I am nowhere near as quick as I used to be - it will take me sometime to get back up to speed but I'm sure that will come with time in the seat

I'm finding the whole handling and braking completely different to how it used to be and there is so much snap oversteer in the rear wheel drive vehicles these days. I have had to take that black non squidgy block thing out of the G29 brake pedal as the brakes were useless before I did.

Maybe that is to do with my FFB settings on the wheel.. I always FFB 10 on every setting

That's seriously impressive.

With the snap oversteer, I think that's a 'feature' of the Gr.4 BMW M4. I gave the Gr.4 Aston a run the other day and that felt like it was on rails in comparison.

I can't run FFB on anything higher than 4. More than that and I feel I'm constantly fighting the car.

I expect to see you mixing it in the Top 10 very soon as an SS then.

Cheers for the lesson yesterday, haha! I saw you ease up when you set that 1.44.7XX with like, three minutes still to go and I knew I was in for a tough time from there. Not even the chicane caught you out and that's been the bane of new players since forever.

Not sure this is the right place for this, feel free to move...

I have a suggestion for making the full lap time submission slightly more convenient from the OP of an event thread. The title of the conversation with Fetchy can be pre-filled in the URL like this:

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/conversations/add?to=WRSFetchBot&title=GTP_WRS Week+11+Submission

Thanks very much for this, will have an internal chat and see if we can take that on board and include in the OP. We try not to do too much like that as it's a bit of a pain having to go into the BB code every week and modify but that's a great suggestion

If it's too much pain, no big deal, thanks for considering it anyway.

We are having to work through some things but if we can figure out a foolproof way to implement we will as it's such a great and simple suggestion. I just need to get my thinking cap on to figure out a way to prevent the opening post being created with the wrong URL and then folks submitting and stomping over the previous weeks entry. We do have folks that submit minutes after a new TT goes live which is usually over 24 hours before the old one ends.

For lack of a better place to post this, I thought you guys might be interested to see how participation in our TT's stacks up as compared to GT5 and GT6. I think the games are different animals, and PD is giving you a fair bit more to do. Plus we started earlier. So interesting to see the progressive drop on the prior games that's really not happened here.

Would be nice to buck the trend and turn that into a substantial uptick but still looks encouraging that were seeing some stamina in the numbers

Don't want to put the cart before the horse, but it would be interesting to see the GT5 and GT6 trending beyond Week (TT) 11. :D

Well, technically you can see it. Just page forward in here.

http://wrs.gtplanet.net/GT5/results/11/

GT5 was pretty volatile, ranging in genera between 30 and 50 once we crossed week 11 up until it locked in at 25-35 by around week 30.

GT 6 may have fallen off a little faster. I think we'll keep bring in new guys since our registry base is pretty small right now, and I would not be surprised to see is stay around where we are for a much longer time frame. Newer console, and a bit more of a locked in base for the game.

In any case, we'll see.

I think we'll pick up the dropouts from Sport eventually, which is fine but has it's limits over time.
Arrived late for GT5, but saw the whole GT6 era and by the end only hardcore people remained, but the PS4 had been around for while then, and it made sense for few people to keep kicking the old horse around.
