I'm close to 400 miles now. I'm terrible at tuning decided that the WRS might be the place to start learning. Been trying to learn a bit about how to adapt the car to my driving style using the setups generously posted here as a guide/starting point. So many variables, it makes my head hurt.

Did manage a small improvement:

T1: 15.421
T2: 35.090

Now heading firmly towards the wrong side of the fun/frustration balance though. Might give it one more shot before the deadline.

T2 is getting better, T1 was better, .42 most of the time, just not on that lap due to a poor exit from the last lap. About .5 better at the line. Target of breaking in to the 34s and I'm happy.

Well today I've been absolutely hopeless, I can't get within half a second of my time from yesterday, so I have given up for the day. I have not been helped by the fact that if I use my saved replay as a ghost the game just freezes, though I can watch the replay without any problems.

Oh and how come GTP_NIZZY gets to be from Scotland when Neenor can't be from England. ( WRS's from the UK )

I noticed something on the leaderboard today. When you click on 'Split 1' it goes top down, but the ranking is the other way around. So in this CT is ranked 135 with the fastest T1.

I REALLY hate the tyres.. But fun car once you learn how to control the power-oversteer out of the corners and the understeer into the corners. And of course mingle a LOT with the suspension/LSD and brakes....
And drive the first 500 km in the car

Very slight updates from last night. Only two hundreds quicker at T2, but looks like I'll move up the leaderboard 5 or 6 places - it's that close at the moment.

I've managed a faster lap today, although my first sector was 0.1 slower... but with a much better 3rd sector. Looks worse on the leaderboard but the third sector for that time was quite scruffy.

I've now clocked up 540 miles doing this challenge. Believe it or not, my missus is being very encouraging - wonder how long that will last...? Maybe she thinks this is the only one we're doing What sort of mileage has everyone else done so far?

Holy Jeebus! Dunno what mileage it translates to, but i've done around 35-40 complete laps i'd reckon, and about 60 odd in total. Just under 2 hrs worth total since the beginning.

Oh, my story re: overall time is similar to yours too Chris, my T1/2 splits are only fractionally better, but my overall time is nearly .2 up on my original lap submitted.

Although I Am not a complainer normally I do hope the wrs isnt going to be done entirely on the lower tyres such as comforts and softs. I have spent lots of time using the Racing tyres in game and absolutely love them. Personally I would like to see racing tyre events even on road or race cars.
Yes I agree if somebody gets a Scotland flag I want an england flag I am not british I am English.
Back to this weeks task. I think my first setup is completely differnt approach to others, I'm running the spring rates on max with ride height lowered to the max. Bound and rebound both set at 10 and 1.5 front and 2.0 rear camber. -0.20 and +0.10 toe.

I would have thought with the reaction you got in your thread you would have let this one go...

GT5 doesn't recognise England or Scotland. I am Scottish but if I go and run any online time trial I will have the union jack placed beside my name, this is one of the reasons the WRS does the same, to keep things uniform.

The reason Nizzy has a Scotland flag is because he put Scotland as his nationality when he submitted for the qualifier. The WRS fetchbot has seen this in the registry and put the flag up accordingly. No doubt now that you guys have mentioned it the admins will change it to UK.

I really don't know why you care so much, anyone on the forum can just look under our avatars and see that you are from England and I am from Scotland.

I like to think GT Planet is about people from all over the world with a common interest coming together, not about creating more divisions.

If i could get the front end to go where i point it, life would be alot easier.
I have tried alot of set ups posted here to no avail yet.
I'm not quite done yet, if it was easy, it wouldnt be worth it!

Hi all,

Great to see so many names on the board, and great to be getting stuck into the WRS once again. Managed to get my first run at this today, and I must say this is definitely a case of taming the beastly power-oversteer! Spent a lot of the first few laps covering the tarmac in what used to be my rear tyres, but once I got the feel of it, my best slightly more controlled lap yielded these splits,

T1: 15.448
T2: 34.914

I've been using vagabondangels setup and seems pretty good fir a ds3, haven't posted a time today with it, only dud 5 laps earlier and was really consistent and nice to use!
