Maybe I should try some more longer runs of 15 - 20 laps in a row and see if that helps get into a consistent rhythm.

I got my best lap on lap 18 of 40 in total, so I'd say it's a good idea to do at least 20 at a time to settle in.

I too was wondering about the tire wear. I usually start to lose it a lot more after about 15-20 minutes due to loss of concentration anyhow, so I can never tell if its me or the car. *Cough* It's the car. *Cough* But today I did away with a half second on my T1+T2 time on a first lap with that "extra grip". Got nervous though and only managed to take 2 tenths of that with me to the finish line.

T1: 15.576
T2: 35.249

Edit: Stock diff and spring setup. Trans at 124mph

Spent a little time on this combo, nothing to really show for it. That first hairpin is pretty tough. If I shift to 2nd the car snaps and if it's in 3rd it's like turning the titanic. Turn 1 and the second hairpin are great going in 2nd and shifting to 3rd early 👍 Running a 15.6 and 35.1 atm and I can't seem to get anything on a 15.4 T1.

I ran my first laps (30-40) on monday but only checked the replay last night and came up with these splits...
15.533
35.215

I managed this with all stock settings so hopefully i can tune another half second out of my time, hopefully.
15.384
34.896

The trick is to use the snap to your advantage. Approach in third while engine braking, at the exactly right time downshift to second without braking. When the back comes around shift up to third immediately and floor it ( in a lethargic sort of way) and hey - Instant 15.2XX T1.

Edit: BTW had the freezing replay tonight. Really strange bug.

I wondered about that process..always seemed to make ground when sliding into T1 but could not work out how to use the extra speed..thanks will try that!👍

Edit:
T1 15.407
T2 34.978

Was able to sit down for a bit tonight. Still using Eclipsi's original setup that he posted. I have not tried any others

T1: 15.384
T2: 34.903

Question: Am I supposed to go back and get rid of my previous time?

Well, I've racked up 146.0km on the beast and I think it's time for me to submit. My splits are:

T1: 15.514
T2: 35.346

I'm pretty happy with my lap, DS3 + no grip is hard yakka but it was fun nonetheless...so glad to be back WRS'ing again 👍

I often have that problem with my ghost "Who the hell is driving that thing?"

Like Duke said above, might be a good time to look into the wheel market if you're going to spend some time torturing yourself in the WRS. :dopey: Even if you don't improve much initially, its much more fun (IMO) and your times will improve alot as you practice, I can (almost) guarantee :)

I've managed a faster lap today, although my first sector was 0.1 slower... but with a much better 3rd sector. Looks worse on the leaderboard but the third sector for that time was quite scruffy.

T1: 15.458
T2: 34.829

I've now clocked up 540 miles doing this challenge. Believe it or not, my missus is being very encouraging - wonder how long that will last...? Maybe she thinks this is the only one we're doing :) What sort of mileage has everyone else done so far?

Edit - Oh yeah, although no-one probably noticed my post about a problem with my brake pedal, it turned about to be an ammount of compacted dog hair stopping the pedal releasing fully.

With a bit of luck she'll keep supporting your WRS efforts for many years to come. 👍. (Only one we're doing).

Reminds me of my son after his first day at school.

Him: "Well i'm glad that's finished with"
Me: I didn't have the heart to tell him he's got another 13 years of it.

Managed to improve my times and consistency by using an interior view. I never normally use it, but I found it helped with knowing the orientation of the car in this case. Hopefully I'll be able to put in some better ones later, but I'll take 0.47 second improvement on my overall split as a good sign after 20 mins behind the wheel :)

T1: 15.819
T2: 35.527

Thanks for the tip 👍.

I've been messing up this corner often enough that it becomes frustrating, once in a while I seem to nail it and carry great speed up to T2. Maybe just maybe when I have pulled it off well I've been doing as you said.

I'll make a conscious efforts to use this method tonight when I put some laps in and hopefully I see an improvement. 👍

Cheers Shaun.

Wow, huge number of entries for the first WRS, best find some time to at least buy the car let alone put some times in!

Alright, sorry to show up late but it's been a busy week with work, Valentine's and the GF. I finally put in a few hours today using eclipsee's excellent tune. Had some real lol moments learning to 'control' this beast.

T1: 15.420
T2: 34.966

I'm hoping to put in some more hours and update an improved time soon.

NEWBIE ALERT! Apologies in advance guys for the silly question..

Just quickly, can I just confirm how to get in playing WRS Week 1:

GT Mode > Seasonal Events :Time Trial No. 7: 295HP/FR Tsukuba Circuit Time Trial. ?

Please could someone clarify what "Laps: Hotlap in online Free Run" means? Do I have to set-up an online room? Or does the "online" bit refer to the online leaderboard of the seasonal event?

Sorry guys for the newbie question (and I have to admit I haven't read all of the posts in this thead so apologies). :scared:

BTW, have to say the whole WRS set-up is ridiculously slick and professional - well done to all. 👍

Ok, I can confirm that having 5 cans of beer before, and 2 more during a run will more than likely NOT improve your splits.

New Splits:

None.

Cheers Shaun.

Edit - If anyone is using/following my tune, I've made a couple of changes-

Now running toe setting -0.09 front/0.09 rear and brake setting 8 front/7 rear - feels like you can turn in a bit more under braking without losing the rear too much and stay on the power more through turn 4 and the last bend.

Hey Chris,

I have been following your tune, and it is the most fitting for me I think, thanks for sharing man! 👍👍

Just did some laps on it yesterday evening, and I felt much more in control of the car than with any other, did many consecutive reasonable laps (e.g. T2 35.3xx). I just fiddled around a bit with the LSD myself. Now I need to get back to driving fast T1's and also squeeze that bit of extra performance from T2. T3 is pretty much nailed for me, can't see to go any faster there.

Will sit again in the weekend and try your lastest tweaks. I just hope to break into the 34s and maybe be the fastest DIV 3 driver. Actually had my goal set to at least be faster than any DIV 4 driver as well as the fastest in DIV 3 Silver. The latter I am currently it seems, but I am at the exact same T2 split as the fastest DIV 4 guy haha, both 35.187 but he was earlier. :dopey:

I am afraid there are some guys who have very quick laps in the bag but haven't shared those yet, so let's see if the leaderboard is a lot different when the competition finishes.

For now, back to work :sly:

Managed a slight improvement on my overall time of .200 of a second so updating my splits even though my S1 is slower then my one i have on the leaderboard, will it still update ok?

Just want to put it up because I may not be able to do many more laps before this finishes with work on the weekend :(

T1: 15.687
T2: 35.769

Another hour gone..... should have stopped on lap 19 when i set the time, instead of lap 50 when i was all over the shop:crazy:

T1: 15.345
T2: 34.768

I'm pretty much at my limit i think.
