GTP_WRS (GT5) Week 1 : Old School Tsukuba - See Important Update to First Post

Without a doubt when you first try a wheel you will be disappointed. Remember you have been using a controller in all previous GT's (if you played any others)
So it does take a while to get to grips with it, so anyone thinking of making the switch should remember that. Don't expect to be faster from the get go.

Took me best part of 6 months to get quicker with the wheel than the controller. It's very frustrating but so much more enjoyable. These days I can't drive with the controller at all.

Well, after miles and miles of practice I knocked 2 seconds off lap time, but can't get a good T2 to save my life. Thanks to all for the tuning settings.

Evening all.

Well, after a couple days if not being able to better my time, I thought about trying something new! I've always been an auto transmission kinda guy, just never been able to get on with the while finger movements around my DS3! But today I thought, why the hell not give it another go!

It works! I knocked almost .2 off if my T2 split, and .5 off of my overall lap time! Woo!

T1: 15.528
T2: 35.249

Now to get back at it and try and get under the magic 35 seconds! 👍

Since it would be difficult to verify, we'd probably have to allow it.

Yes I tend to swerve to avoid collision quite alot.

I agree, it was jesting at my wheel inability.
You only have to look at the times to see it is wheel all the way.

Pretty addictive combo this. I'm finding it hard to be consitent so I like the challenge Finally got a tune cobbled together too so grinding down the splits one tenth at a time. I'm about 2tenths from my target this week, so here's hoping I can find a little more time before the deadline 👍 180 miles on the clock and these are my new splits:

It looks like my times are going to be submitted now. Cant improve after my ps3 gave me the rrod yesterday. 20gig fatty is finally dead. Only problem is that I was saving for a gt3 rs wheel but not any more.

A caution on this: if you haven't already extracted your replay, I'd recommend against submitting.

We'll be requesting many more replays than we have in the past.

However, I'm sorry to hear about the state of your PS3. Every time a fatty dies, the world gets a little bit colder.

Ordered new pedals tonight and it's gonna be 2-5 days, which will probably put it on the back end of the 2-5 window.

Your split times (as above) are automatically collected by the fetchbot and added to the leaderboard. Every time you improve, just post your new splits (here) and they will be automatically updated. You only need to pm the fetchbot your final lap time, which you can do as many times as you like - it will only register the last one you sent for the competition.
