New splits:

T1: 0'36.254
T2: 0'44.576

Best sector 1 and 2 that I have run, but sector 3 was .4 slower than best. Still a net gain of .4, though. I have a lot of work to do, especially in sector 2. I know there is a lot of time to be gained still. I am really enjoying this week.👍

Really poor T2, but still best splits overall and knocked a second off previous best on today's 5 runs. I'm aiming for a T2 in the 1'19s.

Just had a spare half hour this afternoon so had a go at this with my wheel unplugged (no FFB) - feels weird but wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I'm still way off the pace but, interestingly, knocked 15 seconds off my previous best time (which was utter poo) when I first did the Grand Tour.

Maybe all is not lost after all.... :)

Is it worth putting the wheel through the torture of a rally event :scared:

I want to give it a go but have noticed over the last few weeks that the FFB isn't what it used to be. It's ok when you haven't had it on very long but noticed on the last TT how weak it was feeling.

I have tried the wheel before without the FFB cable plugged in but it felt very strange, I think I would only be able to run this using FFB.

Any thoughts 👍

After a day off and our greatest day at the track w/ the new ride I'm just bitin at the bit to get back to poundin the dirt.

Saw a 1'19.6 T2 and promptly threw it away in the final bit.

From my perspective, no.. my G25 has not been well for a few weeks and I feel that this would finish it off with FFB active.

Running without FFB is weird to be blunt... but not impossible. Making corrections by eye is imprecise but that is less important on a rally event where all that really matters is momentum. I didn't find it easy this afternoon but having said that, I made alot more progress in improving my time than I had with FFB active and I don't have the worry of killing my beloved wheel just yet.

I'm gonna put in an hour later on and then decide if sufficient progress is possible. I'm not a good gauge though since I am temperamental and inconsistent if I don't like something.

I will add, though, that my wheel is mounted to a rickety wooden thing stuck to the front of my desk, and I sit on a swivelling desk chair with wheels, so keeping still is hard enough without adding in all the extra vibration of a rallying event. :)

Thanks, may give this a go tomorrow then. I can't do events like this that will make a lot of noise at night, have a really bad neighbour. I may try without FFB and see how I get on, if I don't get on with it I may have to give this week a miss, which is ashame as I don't want this going against my chances of promotion for not competing 👍

Got around to having my first go at this combo!

I'm definitely not a rally dude....but I try, :)!

This will probably be my first and last go at this...unless I hit the Cuervo! :nervous:

I'm with you, Chris....no FFB. I'd like to keep my G27 running for a little longer as well! 👍

T1: 37.685
T2: 47.417

Same here... its a shame - I love rally, but I generally completely suck at it.

My den - yeah the missus keeps "urging" me to tidy it:

Hope you and little had a great outing, looks like it was a great day for it too. WRS Karting event next? :sly:

Need your help to hold off the D1 army. Rally has co-drivers right. How about I do T1 and you do T2 (T2 is killing me)

Was following Zoky's ghost last night again and found where i'm loosing all the time now. It's that last left/right at the end of T2, loosing about 0.4 there :ouch:

Edit: Haven't seen that for ages. 'No Ma'am' haha..

Say what? How do you get someone else's ghost up on an A-spec special event??

Was following him in the online Toscana TT (Could only improve to 25th). Was using the Super Evo Rally 03, but the lines are pretty much the same. Gives me a good indication when I'm about 4 car lengths behind him into that last switchback at the end of T2. And then I can see that increase to about 8 car lengths at the T2 timer. At least I know what to concentrate on now. Thanks for showing me the way Zoky :sly:

Little was rippen at the end, I'll have some videos later :)

I keep beating my times but only T3 keeps improving, Just turned my fastest T1 but gave it back in T2. I just have to chain everything together now :)

Understand now - that's the turn that I mentioned I was struggling with as well (one of them at least).

Didn't get a chance to run last night between kids and having to work through the evening. Wife's out tonight so I can start my Easter weekend in style! Let it be known that I have no dillusions on this event but it's a really interesting learning experience.

I struggled to Gold this event when I first tried it back in December last year - it's amusing how much faster I am now and I'm not even in the top half of the leaderboard!

2nd round, picked up on a few things, still have no idea what the correct line is through the last turn

CSL,

I believe that your splits are not showing on the leaderboard due to the format of your post. Put your T2 time under your T1 split, then Fetchbot will put them on the leaderboard for you.

Great splits Maverick. Sounds strange but I'm glad to be knocked off the podium. Means everyone is having a serious go at this now. This is what I meant about the cream rising to the top. Sure, I can get there through grit and determination, but the ability of you guys to just be on the pace from the get go, and bang in a quick lap astonishes me. If I can stay in the top ten here i'll be pleased, maybe even get my first division podium.

Now to get that podium back :sly:

Some good times being popped in - gotta have some more runs at this after I finish off Portal 2 - Must get to that magic 1:20.xxx time!

Fortunately with it being Easter weekend I'll get a bit more time to drive the tyres off the Focus, unless I get dragged outside to enjoy the "good weather" (sigh)

Seen a 20.3 at T2, but this is my best so far from today's runs.

36.137
44.642

Feel like I'm actually getting somewhere now.

Please give me the link when it's up. Can't wait to see little kickin' it 👍

Damn PSN is down australia wide at the momemt, can't even access playstation AU site. Think it must be some DDoS attack by that 'Anonymous' group :grumpy:

Arghh just can't get it together, never gonna get that T2 again, it was going for a sunday drive. Didn't feel quick at all , lesson learnt is be smooth(er).
Seen 35.5xx now , and T3 0.4 quicker than this lap, but faster to the line by 0.5

Updated Splits

35.807

I want that podium bad as I know it's my best chance :D

That's stunning T2, I can just about see a very high 43, but a .3 is incredible. Well done.

Problem is I have been struggling with T2 all along. Chasing Zoky last night really helped though. Can do consistent 43.9xx but nearly fell of my chair when I saw the 19.1xx come up. Of course got nervous and butchered T3 completely :banghead:

Best is 0.4 better in T3 but usually only average 0.2 better than this T3. Along with the 35.5xx would've been a mad time, maybe enough to inspire zoky to do his usual. Wait for me to get close and then pull out another second on demand :sly:

Nice splits sid, for me the biggest problem in sector2 and in whole lap is left-right just before it.....it's very hard to hit the braking point for the first left and that's pretty much were all my laps are going down!!

Btw: For everyone, go to seasonal time trial 12 and watch my replay with EVO.....I'm using the same lines with Focus here!!👍
