T1: 36.699
T2: 44.556

Might have another go towards the end, not got much left.

Why is my T1 so damn slow compared to everyone else!?

Hey mate, you're getting there now. Once you get to around mid 36's your times will drop. Just curious, about what time to do get to the top of the 1st hill, I get there around 21 seconds. This might help you know if it's the 1st half or seconds half of T1 you're loosing the time. In T2 I was getting the same times as you. I gained 0.5 just in that last 2 turns of T2. It's hard to get right, I use the little piece of grass that it sticking out, and then narrows as the dirt becomes wider as my braking marker. Use the grass to help slow you as well as the brakes.

Arghh , just touched 1:18.9xx , but it wasn't the only thing I touched. Would not want to have been in that car crashing into the orange barrier at 150kph+ :banghead:

Grouped together a 35.5xx and a 43.4xx (slower T2) , dunno where the hell zoky is getting 35.3xx. Feel like I'm almost at my limit now. Here's another tip (for me as well) don't crash into things in T3

@Carlos/Vagabond , I still got an old PS1 madcatz used to use for F1'97. Used to think it was so awesome :)

Don't dis' the old wheels brother...

No offence meant Carlos - I loved my DF-Ex at the time... it was my first wheel and introduced me to a whole new world of enjoyment with GT4 :)

Edit - another half an hour after lunch and I'm beginning to get the hang of T1 I think:

T1: 35.840
T2: 43.601

No offence taken :sly:

Been pounding the dirt, so to speak, all evening for little reward other than a sore knee. Minor improvement in T1 and my best T3 all week.

36.165
44.913

Seen a x5.7 in T1 and a .5 in T2 , so there's still more to come (hopefully)...

You'll be a force to be reckoned with on the leaderboard if you pull your best sectors together. 👍 Once the rhythm comes, it starts feeling alot easier.

Started tying up some better splits now :)

T1: 35.892
T2: 43.409

Away visiting family over easter so no GT5 for me. Pity in a way since I normally improve a lot during a WRS week and I felt that there was a lot more to be done. Bettered my time from when I first did this special event by almost six seconds though.

That's a shame mate. Have a good weekend anyway

T1: 0'36.456
T2: 0'44.439

Tenth faster at the line but splits slower by .075.

Just can't get a good T1 and T2 together, one or the other but not both.
Slower T1 this time, Faster T2 and botched T3 again. :ouch:
Faster to the line by only 0.04 👎

35.966
43.116

I've traded my consistent T1's for consistent T2's now. Was easily getting 35.6xx and occasionally 35.5xx. Now I'm struggling to get 35.9xx. Weird how that happens :boggled:

38.358
46.940

37.646
46.765

I love the moderate oversteer that the dirt makes. It so much fun on the exit of the corners and feels brilliant having to fight it sort of. Anyways I'm rapidly going up that leaderboard but I think I'm miles behind the top man in division 4, I think it's LittleLefty.

*Sigh*

I give up. I've had some rather nice crisp white and I can't even break 37 seconds for T1. Going to finish Portal 2 tonight and then speed-run it with the commentary on instead for the next coupla days. I'll submit and see you guys in week 11 :D

Hope my fellow Englishmen haven't got too burnt today :)

btw - top tip, disable Internet connection to avoid the "Sign in to PlayStation network?" prompts that you get 3 times when loading up. (Settings -> Internet Settings)

Insane T2

Holy crap! I was just about to say I think I'm making progress.... Nice T2 mate, very nice 👍

Small improvement for me:

T1: 35.759
T2. 43.469

Fastest T1 I've done so far, T2 I've seen one 43.3xx but with a very slow T3. T3 was bit messy on this lap but gained 0.06 at the line. More to come hopefully but I think it will be in tidying up T3 - I feel pretty maxed out in T1, and close to it in T2.

Hope my fellow Englishmen haven't got too burnt today :)
Its been beautiful ain't it? No sunburn but the missus is itching to start the spring makeover on the house, which is more dangerous than sunburn.

Once you find a rhythm, the time just drops away in chunks doesn't it? Nice improvement 👍

Yup you're right. :D
I've found that you make a time and then go a tenth or two slower or hit an invisible wall but then I had just matched it on a dirty lap and found the line and improved on every single sector.:)
I did lose at least half a second on the entry to the chicane before the backstraight though so I've got more to improve.

So I'm now on to the podium. :D
1.9 seconds off second place though.

35.908
43.971

Don't see me bettering this cos of busy Easter weekend, but just about reached my target time, probably another couple of tenths there though.

This is just like swiming in quicksand, the longer I just sit here and don't move the lower I go .... I would just like to end up in the top 10 but if I could hit the top 5 I would feel like my biggest success in any online stuff Iv'e done to this point.

Great run Sure 👍

Kevin and the OLR team............and everybody else, have a nice weekend!
Lol, no FFB turning out to be fun!!

Found a few more seconds.....but spent too much time "mowing grass!"

T1: 37.990
T2: 46.290

FFB at 7 is so much fun DDiamond but you have to put torque at 50/50 and brakes at 3/10. I got it off someone on this thread. Thanks whoever posted them.:D

Anyways some new splits
36.983
45.459

I totally unplug the wheel after it calibrates. Running 45/50 and BB at 4/9. I might give those torq and BB settings you mentioned next time I give it go. Thanks for passing those along!

Those are some nice TTs you posted...way out of my league! :nervous:

Thanks, even if you do slip out of the top 10, don't be disappointed with your efforts, competing with D1 means you're quick, perhaps not Zoky quick (but then he is half a second quicker than Dan at T2, which says a lot!), but quick nonetheless! :D

That run was 3/10ths better than anything else I'd done, after another quick go (albeit with a battered hand from decorating, nice time of year for the soil pipe in the toilet to crack...) tonight, really not sure I'm going to better this. Wouldn't mind seeing Zoky's run he was talking about, if PSN decides to work before the deadline.

I'm running 50/50 Torque with 6/3 BB for anyone interested, someone posted them earlier in the week.

Don't worry about the times. I'm just better at rallying then on tarmac. You need to have the right settings, otherwise the car feels awful. Also don't be afraid to use the entire track, not just the middle part.

Oh and thanks. :)

Hi guys...I'm not that much into rally I really such at it big time. It was a good oportunity to improve, but we are in holidays in Colombia so no WRS this week for me.
Good luck everyone

I'd say be afraid to use the middle part, due to the, er, quirk of GT5, the non-track bit has more grip than the gravelly stuff.

Gonna try that as well. Thanks.

I think I used TOO much track in this one! :indiff:

Lyvan, I never touched the GT series until GT5....and it took me forever to gold [barely] this event in my other account. Keep at it! :)

Uhmmmmmmm, that may be the reason I was able to get TTs above my head, I stayed in the grass so much!!

Gonna go try some SOCOM 4 now!!
