@ Chris: I'm trying sir!! My main car from this week only has 1628.7 miles. Besides the cooler going down, most of my family was in the South during this last batch of tornadoes. They're all O.K. That cost me about 12 hours of seat time. Four to six of which would be driven sober. (That's just a guestimate!
)
I think I'm making progress on my tune, though. I've only shaved off a couple of tenths at the line, but it seems to turn much easier and still lets me get on the throttle. Here's what I've done:
1. Raised the front ride height to 27 and the rear to 25.
2. Softened the front spring to 15, rear is still at 12.
3. Rear dampers are now at 5, both ext and com.
4. Rear toe at .20, the front is .10.
5. Rear brake is up to 5, from 3. Front is still 7, as 8 cooks the front tires too quickly. I would surmise that is from the camber and toe being higher than they need to be. I'm braking earlier because of that, but it's helping my exits.
6. So I lowered the LSD setting of the brakes to 5, down from 20. I left initial at 15, though I want to try it again at 10.
This tune feels easier to drive at a fast pace. I know there is more time in it, as I've improved my t1 by two tenths, then I miss my apex, then my t3 is back to what is was (almost) with the fastest ending yet for me.
Before I made these changes today, I splurged on chassis reinforcement, both at the tuning shop for 20,000 and then the auto shop for 250,000. I also did the engine for 150,000. That's a lot for a redneck! But I started today with well over 1,000 miles, so I decided to go for it. That doesn't count the test cars, either! I'd like to see what you think of the changes, if you get the chance.
to all!!!
Racing On!!!
