I thought the ballast position exploit is one of the things we're not meant to use?

Had a go with Chuk's tune, not for me, finding the first sector a bit too on edge, which puts me out for the rest of the lap.

NASCAR with a ds3... Had to turn tcs on.

First splits
23.639
22.707
18.665

23.526
22.296
18.582

I would like to get more info about this "supposed" ballast position exploit (if that really exists), do you have any information about that?

I don't see any harm in adjusting ballast - though I have no idea if it has any effect just shifting the slider with zero weigth added.

In a lot of forms of motorsport the cars are built down to a low weight and then have weight added to bring the car up up to the minimum weight for the class/series... and the ballast can be added wherever the designers want to improve handling/grip.

I fiddled around with his a bit, and I suspect it's a case of perception = reality.

I really can't see where adjusting it with zero weight makes the car handle any differently.

Just something I've seen floating around the various fora. That was no slight in you, btw, I know you'll be quick on 3 wheels, like alone 4. ;)

No offense taken 👍 , you was refering to the ballast position as an exploit and I read something about that in GTP too (this is how hoaxes begin, I've read something somewhere ...) and I would like to know if that's true, that's all.
Anyway I'll give it another try with the ballast position set to zero (default position). 👍

Honestly I can't notice any difference with or without the ballast position in the cars I've run so far (it makes sense if the ballast is zero) , the same goes for the rigidity improvement, so far they are placebos for me, like a hanging lucky dice on my cockpit mirror. :dopey:

I was wondering if I could get one of the resident Aliens to prove my hypothesis about the 700hp to traction coefficient. I’m picking up a dropoff from that point in wide open usability of the tires as the hp goes up from there.

Could I get one of you to set your car to 700hp and run some laps to find out of the car goes faster in the interior of the track, mostly T2 and T3? T1 still has residue from the high HP MPH going into the first turn and would add deviation to the formula.

When I can determine where the HP benefit departs due to overtorquing the traction coefficient of the tires I can the find my tuning threshold. Thankzzzz

Tried Ramon's tune in a different car... need to do some more laps in it as it's only making 880ish bhp, but the tune feels nice... Cheers Ramon 👍

T1: 22.310
T2: 20.921
T3: 17.809

Looking forward to giving it another go over the 4 day weekend... in a battle of my attention between this and the Royal Wedding, I know what's gonna win ;)

I had a go earlier then tried Lefty's technique so I was chasing a ghost for a while. I bet my ghost at 750 hp. Here's some full power splits.
22.947
21.661
18.837

Holy Rocketship Batman "a 2 sec jump" nice

Thanks, still losing .4 to you in the 3rd sector.:banghead:

I didn't know if you realized that my current posted time is done w/ my 700hp version? :)

I jumped up to the max power but could only beat my shows by .1 " why even report it :( ", at the final I knocked my OT down by .7 more, very depressing :indiff:

Yeah I knew. That's why I was ahead in the first two and probably the last bit as well. What I did was get a decent time earlier, then I set it down to 450hp and gradually brought it up. It took 750hp to beat the full power ghost. It was only 2 or 3 laps at every hp setting, not a full session each.

Royal Wedding? Who is getting married?.....

 j/k!

Jerome

I believe it's Anthony and his girlfriend from the royle family.:sly: People who saw the Christmas Royle Family will get the joke.

ROFL

She's working on Friday ;) :B

Bridesmaid?

BTW, I've now made it to lvl21 as at the end of my time last night. I've now just got to buy the right stock car, run it in, tune it, learn the track with nearly 900hp and then hook a lap together - once I've done all that, I'll be ready to compare notes...

Wait for me, I won't be long!

Always pleasing to bring amusement to others :sly: - my wife's having a girls night at a friends to watch the wedding. I suspect that this will be my one and only opportunity to put some serious mileage in this week.

Edit: Typo Mav?

Rigidity Improvement part added (I can't notice any improvement with this added part but just in case ...)

Always glad to see you post your settings..have not gone wrong with them yet....and it is greatly appreciated.

Been waiting on Sony to get the [hacked] net back up [yes, credit card cancelled] so I could get one of my two NASCARS from my other account, but decided to go ahead and buy one.

Using the above settings and still only nursing 882hp / 561 ft-lb, was able to do this after an hour. Way off the pace, but don't hold your breath for betterment TTs! :sly:

T1: 23.718
T2: 22.454
T3: 19.046

And thanks to Chuk as well for posting his......gonna give your settings a try as usual!!!

Thanks for the set up Chuk!
Much appreciated.
Might assist me to fight it out with the Div 5 guys!
Anyone know why the leaderboard isnt displaying all of the Div #'s??

Cheers All !!!

There is trouble with the leaderboards and EDK has sent JoostBaxteen a PM. He told me in the divisions and promotions thread.
