Well, at the risk of making you guys faster, I've taken Chuk's refinements and refined them. :dopey:

Now, if you've ever met Chuk, that would make you laugh. :sly:

First, the shorter 3rd and 4th are really nice, but they needed a shorter 5th to make it come in line.

Second, I hate rear toe adjustments, so it went away on my car.

Third, I guess my freaky ideas about downforce were unfounded, and I've ended up back on max. :ouch:

Finally, I looked at the stock settings for the Diff (Yes, they are there, just click the settings on the diff) and I got some ideas on how to optimize LSD.

Here are the settings -

Aero - Max

RH 45 / -20
Springs 15.5 / 2.1
Damps Ext 10 / 1
Damp Comp 10 / 1
Roll 7 / 1
Camber 2.0 / 1.7
Toe -0.20 / 0.0

Gears

3265
2356
1967
1621
1346
1161

Final 3854

Brakes 5/6

LSD 5/25/10

New Splits. :)

22.885
28.958

iMPROVED BY a tenth and a half with a better setup, much improved gears:tup:

45 -20
15.5 2.1
10 2
10 2
7 2

2.0 1.0
0 0
6 5(BB)
Aero max

Gearing
1st 3.288
2nd2.217
3rd1.678
4th1.362
5th1.177
6th1.017
4.400
250 (246km/h max speed)

Gear 5 is the most important gear for this combo IMO, with this gearbox I was able to hi 195km/h at the right kink in T1.
Hmmm I think I just had an epiphany on how to take T1..... And I guess I have to try this tune.... 💡
22.552
28.410

And a pretty neat last sector to boot;) Same setup. Time submitted.
💡 So all I gotta do is lose about 6 tenths off my lap? well I'll get right on that!
Fantastic Splits.

EDIT: The 195 kmh - I'm not sure what you mean by right kink in T1, and if you mean through the corner, or upon entry?
EDIT: He meant leading to 2nd right of T1, I know because I hit 122mph there.

Got my first 22.6x T1 and I can see where the 22.5's are coming from, just damn tough with the SixAxis. Middle sector is still a bit of a mystery. Last sector seems maxed out at the moment.

I would guess: his minimum speed through turn 1. Seems like a kink to me.
That's what this Star Traveler doth speaketh of.

Using *your* setup, CSLACR, as poolhaas directed me to do, and a quick paint-n-lube, I trimmed a good number of tenths:

23.164
29.106

If I can't beat ya in T1, I'll catch ya in T2!

I'll try some of these newer-fangled setups tomorrow.

Off topic: Chuk's refined? Well pardon me, sir. Do you have any Grey Poupon?

This isn't here to question the rules, rather to verify these are all legal.
I had a run using Dan's setup, and before I could even get into it, I realized Probably 90% of my "clean" laps so far are dirty.

Picture 1 - Obvious when dirty or not.
Picture 2 - I didn't even know they were cobbles! :dunce:
Picture 3 - Where cobbles suddenly turn into rumble strip.... You could literally be in the same place horizontally on the track and go from illegal to legal, if I have this right.
Picture 4 - I believe obvious, but liked the picture. :)
Picture 5 - Good lord I always ran wide there, never even considered it for some reason... :dunce::dunce:
Picture 6 - Careful on the finish guys, rumble strip disappears and becomes cobble, so if you've only got two on the rumble, you (I think) have to duck back in because the strip ends where at least I would actually need it.

I'm 99% sure these are legal, but I'd never noticed the whole rumble/cobble switch sections, and both are the opposite of the way you'd want them, where you would swing wide at the end of T1, you can't, and rumble strips only come in after you're done turning right, and the final turn exit, as previously stated, turns to cobble right where your most likely to be on it.

Hopefully this will help lessen the amount of DQ's this week, myself included.

Yeah I was referring to the flat kink following the 1st corner:tup: With a standard gear box I don't think you can get much more than 193 km/h there, but the tweak to 5th gear gives the car more acceleration as you go up the hill.

I will give your gears ago later on tonight, thanks for sharing Dan. Hopefully I can catch that gap up again :sly:

T1- 22.555
T2- 28.656
Just can't keep pace in T2, have been a few hundredths faster in T1 and maybe almost a tenth in T2 but never in 1 lap.

CLS as its we the members that check the replays I’ll answer for you.

Pic 1) fine as you have two wheel on the tarmac.
Pic2) Fine two wheels on the tarmac, but if you cross the line and end up with three wheels on the cobble’s that would be dirty.
Pic 3) Fine same as above.
Pic 4) Fine two wheels on the red/white rumble strip.
Pic 5) I for one would look at this very closely, due to the direction of the wheels /Car, some of the members can record these replays and play them back frame by frame, what may look clean in a replay due to where the freeze frame falls, can sometimes not show the next frame as clean or dirty, which frame by frame can.
Pic 6) Fine two wheels on the tarmac, you could have two wheels on the grass if you wish, so long as two wheels stay in contact with the tarmac.

Kevin and the OLR team have said this many times before, keep two wheels on the track at all times, or vertically inline with, all track and red/white rumble strip are track, any other is not, unless there are added instructions like runoff area’s Daytona Road turn 4 I think.

On top of that everybody knows, if you’re not sure if clean or dirty then consider it dirty and run another lap, or submit a lap you know 100% clean.

Phillip.

Fantastic splits, is this using DHolland's new tune, or just his gears 👍

@ Mignun,
Do you have picture of the back tyre

Ha, I thought you meant the actual first turn. I almost broke down in tears here when I tried a couple of laps and barely managed to hit 180 through it.

Think I got you beat on that one!

Fortunately I managed a faster lap before I could figure out how to upload the photo from my phone. ;)

Exactly the same as the front Plato

My interpretation of the rules is that you are ok. You're not ok by much though - you'd want to be confident that you can take a picture that shows the largest-extent that you are FROM the track, to be confident 👍

The front tyre is fine but he really needs to watch the replay a few times catching that moment at different times, as I think the back tyre must be very close

T1: 23.478
T2: 29.253

New splits above with the following :

Code:
TOP SPD 153	RH	45/-20
1st	3265	SPRIG	15.5/2.1
2nd	2356	EXT	10/1
3rd	1940	COMP	10/1
4th	1600	ROLL BARS	7/1
5th	1320	CAM	2.0/1.0

Final	3854
TRANS 143
LSD:	8-35-8
DF: 15-35
BB: 4/7

Thanks to Chris, Chuk, Kevin, CSLACR and Plato for posting your settings.

However, that run above resembled controlled chaos , so I definitely will be trying Kev's "refinements" of Chuk's setup...and will definitely try Dan's, who, I agree, is not from this racing planet!!!! Thanks for sharing!!
