GTP_WRS (GT5) Week 18 : In the Mood for Some Italian

I donate a considerable amount of my personal time to running the series. I don't expect every comment to be positive, but when someone literally says, "I can't stand the combo", I take that personally.

I wouldn't if I were you. You do good things here for people for free, not everybody will like every combo, and sometimes people will hate it. I personally can't stand the current combo, despite having high hopes at first, so I'll be back next week.
It bears no negative reflection on you, or the WRS, it's just my (or whomever's at the time) personal preference.

Aww would love to transfer my pad skills onto my wheel... I just went on the pad for 15 laps and was within 3 tenths of my best on my wheel every lap! I think if I had put in the 75 previous laps of wheel time on a pad I'd be beat that by a mile lol nevermind ill keep at the wheel lol!

I don't take it personally that people don't like it. I think the participation numbers reflect the popularity of a combo, for the most part.

What I take personally is someone coming into the race thread and openly expressing their negative opinion of the combo. It's just not needed, and I consider it rude.

The particular issue in this case is this week's WRS, my view is that I don't like the track/combo this week. Also people earlier on in the thread were wondering where some of the D1 drivers were, hence my post as to why I'm not willing to put the time in to it this week. Why is it whenever there is a slight bit of negativity, people tend to get hostile? It's nothing personal, just keep gunning on the track guys 👍

Had a blast on the track & car combo. Hopefully I can start finding more wrs time again like in the gtp days.

No real improvement on those splits, but looks like I almost nailed Ascari.. Still, I'm not satified with my speed..
I really like the Gallardo on sport tyres, but I usually drive it sideways (a) The track is not my favourite, never seem to find the flow here :/

Time to grind for next weeks car then

Ye its so annoying its only the X1 I can happily say im much quicker on a wheel with lol, although the gap is slowly shrinking wheel and pad haha. It's like 14 years on a pad vs 3 months on a wheel . Its another reason for doing WRS hehe , improvement on a wheel !

If GT Academy allowed pads that would have been epic haha day 2 inc.

Answer: Because they are to stubborn to realize the flaws in this game, even with the WRS rules for Monza, it doesn't make a difference as it's down to who can cut the chicanes the most and get away with it.

You guys keep living in the past with this flawed penalty system, and by all means ban me if you so wish, comes to something when you are not allowed to put your point across without people staying loyal to PD and there flawed systems that take months to put right.

It's funny when you believe this discussion is focused on the platform, when in reality it's focused on your friend's and your disrespect and disregard for the effort that goes into running the series.

I'm not sure there's another Super Moderator on this site that would tolerate the off topic banter that you create by using the competition forum to compare GT5 to Forza.

I'm fully willing to overlook that, but when people disrespect the effort I put forth to keep this competition running, I have no choice but to take the opportunity to defend it.

Dan may not have competed in WRS for some time, but he's earned my respect 50 times over as compared to you and the rest of the "Skills" team.

Some more laps last night, and no improvement, and tried really hard.

Don´t know if it´s related, but suddenly my left elbow is hurting

That last sector is going again to be decisive, is so easy to lost several tenths in it

I alwasy have to ease a bit, if not i end up on the right gravel.

I always feel like I have to give up pace in the right to get the last left correct. It's made harder as the inside curb for the right-hander wants to throw the car wide, plus the curb gets narrower, so you can be clean and then dirty very quickly (sounds like my kids)...

I don't suppose there's a way to get back deleted replays? I was clearing out all the old laps I didn't need and my 2nd fastest was my clean lap but I saved the fastest, which is far from clean 👎

Even if I say so myself, a truly EPIC lap right up until the entry to Parabolica when I braked too late and got WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYY out of shape on entry - tried to minimise the damage by getting on the throttle early but then had to lift again so T3 was compromised severely but still OK on time as I'd got through Ascari pretty well.

Thanks Matt - I saw the split, got through Ascari, and then came out in a cold sweat on the way down to Parabolica!!!

I'm submitting this lap. Have checked a number of times and it's clean, and the chances of me running a lap this good again, and THEN getting Parabolica right are slim to anorexic so I'm calling it quits there.

Just a few last things to say:

Reading back over my original post about the track/combo, I don't know how any of this got to this level of debate. At the end of the day, I made a comment complaining about the penalty system on GT5, which is no different to people complaining about the invisible walls around Tokyo the previous week, but I seem to get some sort of retaliation for it? Before you say, "Yeah but you just came in to the thread with nothing else to say", this thought was said after I had already ran a session around the track, meaning that I had just as much right to express what I thought about the game's system as people were in the Tokyo thread about the invisible walls, no difference.

Also when mentioning about the "personal attacks" made on other members, correct me if I'm wrong, but I haven't made any personal attacks to anyone on this forum, it was actually a "highly respected member" around here that made the first attack. Which leads me on to my next point, when running a series, all competitors should be treated with equal respect. The WRS is a well structured and professionally run event, so you would think comments like "but he's earned my respect 50 times over as compared to you and the rest of the "Skills" team", wouldn't be made. Again, none of this would of even be said if my original post didn't get taken personally for no apparent reason.

On a positive note, I can appreciate the organisation and effort levels to maintain the WRS to a high standard, I've got nothing against any of you in here. I look forward to running Week 19!

Nope. Not getting back a deleted replay. Don't feel to bad though, I can personally assure you that your not the first to do it. Good news is you have a couple days to run it & beat your best time & save the replay. Happy racing
