New Splits:

T1: 31.605
T2: 38.001

I can only go fast with the yellow lambo... not sure why :)

BB 5/7 , ABS 3. The BB makes the car a bit unstable initially on the brakes, but then after releasing the turn in is nice and predictable. Was running 7/4 which was stable on entry, but found myself running wide after letting off the brakes.

Bad T1, seen many low .4s but struggling to get used to the snaking of the car on the brakes. Might have been too aggressive on the BB.

Combo seems so easy, and then you compare your splits to the board ...

32.197
39.338

Doubt if I'll get into the 1'10.-s ...

The yellow one is good for at least 5HP. :sly:

This one is easy to drive, hard to go fast. The perfect combo for broad appeal across all divisions. 👍

Nice splits Peter, good to see you back 👍

A nice, easy combo... 1st 30 laps, not a very good middle sector, but a solid 1st and final sector...

Thanks mate 👍

I don't reckon I'm as quick as I used to be unless I really apply myself... WRS usually requires a lot of hours to get that perfect lap, and I just don't have the time anymore.

As for on-line, I don't spend anywhere near as much time as I used to... private rooms are great in some ways, but it seems harder to get in a room with a group of tagged drivers now-a-days... probably because there's so much more choice than there was back in Prologue.

It's funny that the thread I posted up turned up in the Q and A section earlier today as I was talking to a Team_Skills member (Supra_Skills) earlier who invited Dion to go racing, i'm sure he said that himself and Dion were talking about the early days of GT5 when we were all racing together, they were only talking about this earlier today.

Maybe we should all get together in a race lobby again soon, as those days were fun. Like I said though on the other thread, there are only a few of us Team_Skills members left playing the game which is a shame, it's the faster ones of the group that don't play anymore to.

Few laps done, no improvement. All I want to say is damn you gravel trap exiting the second chicane for slowing me down after some great first sectors :yuck:

^^ Had the *exact* same experience last night, buddy.

Found that I like Controller Sensitivity at 7 for the turn 1 + turn 2 right/left though (still using DS3).

I'd be up for that... but the only time I can do with any consistency is Sunday Afternoons... the wife usually uses this time to catch up on her business which leaves me free to play ;)

Sounds great, I will see what Team_Skills guys I can get together, i'm sure Supra_Skills will be up for this. As for others there hard to come by, whatever happened to Sigma (steve) he used to be in lobbies with us.

Anybody else in the WRS is free to join us, if we do eventually get some racing under way 👍

Sorry to be off topic :)

Spoke to Steve today... he's busy with Uni, but keen to get back in to racing... of course he'll be off soon for the 26 week summer vacation those slacking students get ;)

And yeah, apologies for the off topic stuff :D

Sorry last post off topic :sly:

Seeing as though most racers we are on about have a GTP tag, would it be possible to open a thread in this section, or would it be classed as off topic.

Quick question on session logistics from a WRS newbie... Maybe some of you have a better way going about this process, in particular when the combo is in arcade mode.

Scenario (this hasn't happened yet, but can see it coming): I start out a session and load my previous best/clean ghost lap then do 10-15 laps and I beat my ghost time with a "GT5 legal" lap, but "WRS dirty". Now the WRS dirty lap becomes the new GT5 ghost lap. The very next lap I do a best WRS-clean lap, but not better than my current GT5 ghost lap. At that point there's no way to save that clean lap replay right?

To avoid this scenario I stop the session after every new best lap (being sure to continue into the next lap a bit to make sure the lap is saved), save ghost and check it using the GT replay center to make sure it's clean. If it's clean then it becomes the new target ghost and if not delete it and revert to the previous clean ghost and continue the session? An extra pain since you have to go into GT mode to view the replay.

This process works, but it disrupts the driving flow significantly. Especially after you get in the groove and start hitting consistent good laps... they tend to come in bunches for me at least. If it's clear during the lap that it's dirty, but fast enough to threaten the ghost i slow the lap down in the middle to prevent the scenario above, but sometimes it may be close and very fast (usually the close ones are the fast ones).

Anyone manage their sessions/ghost replays differently? Any quicker way to view just the "new" ghost replay besides saving and going to GT mode and replay center? If I have 2 hours for a session I'd like to spend most of that driving and not making sure a clean ghost lap doesn't get lost to a dirty lap.

Wouldn't it be nice if you could just pick any single lap from your session and save that one lap as the ghost? You could run 50 straight laps and then just pick the one you want for the replay verification without interruption.

Thanks for any tips.

PS> This isn't specific to this week, but it's extra easy this week to have what appears to be a clean lap, but after replay review is dirty by inches in the chicane.

^^ I've had the exact same thoughts and processes in arcade mode, WRP001.
No workarounds that I'm aware of, we're stuck with wasting time and strategic restarts and tomfoolery, I'm afraid.

I can normally tell if a turn is dirty.... if it is, I never run that lap to the end, I always ease off and let my ghost pass me.

Once I feel I'm getting close to my limit lap time wise, I tend to save every lap that's faster than my previous saved best and then check them later, fastest to slowest, until I find a clean one... though most often, the fastest one will be clean.

Poor T2 but brutal T3 and i guess Ill take the splits position drop for almost two more tenths :-)

Just another WRS Newbie question (Sorry for these :P) but with the red and white kerbing is that track (More of a confirmation) e.g.: Lesmo 1 2 wheels on the exit kerbing 2 on the black part would be counted as clean (2 being clearly on the red and white bit)?

Other than that question some new splits :) been seeing 31.2xx's most laps but noticed my second split was never quite right and then had a good shot at it with a random lap :D but a bit poor of a first split.

T1: 31.570
T2: 37.684

What you're describing would be clean 👍

Cheers Stotty much appreciated just thought I better double check to be safe :) first WRS and all hehe :).

Appreciate you coming back towards me Matt :sly: "back a bit more, to me, to me..."

My humble splits :) :

T1: 32.348
T2: 39.324

My goal is to get under 32 and 39. Back to the track ...

Done like 5 laps, already can't stand the combination! Despite not liking the track as it is, making sure you use all of the track can save you so much time in this combination, which just makes things even more horrible. If only GT had a proper penalty system eh?
