'Bout time we get back to Laguna anyway, week 16 was the last time. Tim was asking me if I thought we'd get there soon. Do it before your real-life race there! đź‘Ť

I have 2 of those coming up. ;)

11/21 and 12/22.

So yeah, it might be that we get back there soon.

Honestly, I'm not fond of the track in this direction, either.

I found this combo to be "acceptable" for running the track in this direction.

If I only allowed my personal opinion to guide my WRS combos, we would never run High Speed Ring, we would only run Deep Forest in Reverse, and we'd run Laguna Seca every other week. ;)

Get a car, around DTM speed, and try Grand Valley East Reverse.;)

I was really trying to say that we would never run Deep Forest Forward, but I can see how that might be misinterpreted to mean that the only track I would ever run in reverse is Deep Forest.

I do actually enjoy several of the original circuits in reverse, including GVE, as well as Trial Mountain.

If we still had Seattle, and we were only going off of my opinion, 8 weeks of WRS would be something like -

Laguna
Seattle
Laguna
Trial Mountain
Laguna
Seattle Reverse
Spa
Laguna

Seriously, it's a challenging combination. My thought is for all people we lost at the "mid people-to-champions wall" at corner 7.

My wish is to run WRS on most of the tracks, and these include Rome and HSR đź‘Ť .... and Cape Ring South.

About the challenge. I was wrong. I think I found some improvement changing gears at 5000rpm. I wonder how many last corner different lines we will see in top3 videos this week.
I'm happy with T.1 and T.3, and corner 7 exit speed. But I'm losing 0.3 at corner 9 after the backstraight.... and it's too much just for 1 corner. At corner 9 I find the car understeering with 25/75 and above, and oversteering with 20/80 and less :dopey:

I'd love to run this week but I'm afraid I'll throw 20 hours on WRS again, haha.
No seriously, I'm loving this combo - it's just if I start I'll be abusing for at least 20 hours and I don't have time for this right now.

Struggled at first, but after around 70 laps I got these splits:

T1: 24.242
T2: 22.264

Still a bit of time to come in sector 2. Getting that first corner combination right is very important. I find it's better to brake early, clip the inside kerb, avoid the outside kerb completely and then gradually apply the power in one smooth motion to get around turn 2 without having the re-adjust the steering.

What was odd though was I did a 65 lap stint in a row and over time the power seemed to disappear. I was crossing the line at 130mph instead of 132-133. At one point the car lost power altogether and could barely hit 120 by the end of the straight. I exited and went back in which fixed the problem. On my first go I cut 3 tenths off my best lap (Which was down on power, but overall a cleaner lap than my new one that lost all time on the straights). The 2.0 update might've changed arcade mode somehow, this hasn't happened to me in the past. Or maybe I just crashed into the barrier at the kink too often, causing damage to the car (Even though mechanical damage is off). I honestly don't know what was going on.

:P The Wall of Averages đź‘Ť

I can do chatty me. Just see this: Left hander after T1 is :banghead: There are only two difficult corners on the entire lap. First turn and that. I just can't decide whether to use fourth or fifth gear through. Fifth is faster but I only get through in one piece once every ten laps or so which is very frustrating. The rest is easy (which probably means I'm going too slow in T3.) I do have a feeling that a 46 flat should be possible though.

Hey, calm down. That's almost waffling :P

I'm taking that left hander in 4th but almost flat out on a perfect lap. The rest is fairly easy... I hope we're not both going too slow :scared:

Started nailing turn 1 a little better now but struggling to match my 2nd sector.

24.184
22.129

I've had a 24.168 T1 and a 22.019. I think my 3rd sector is about done so looking for a tenth or tenth and a half on the lap. I hope.....

Arcade mode observations

That is quite interesting - I haven't noticed anything like that myself - my stints have been quite short so far... but its worth looking into. đź‘Ť

In charge, but realistic enough to know that a variety of combos featuring all aspects of the game is the best thing for the series.

That, and afraid of all you guys mutinying if I did something like the above. :dopey:

Well my first name is Christian... close enough.. I'll kick things off if the time comes Kev, you can count on me đź‘Ť

Question is, would we run those tracks in the Dodge Challenger, maybe with the Challenger TC thrown in every 2nd week?

New Splits:

T1: 24.228
T2: 22.122

I've seen slightly better only to screw up T3 (Brings back memories of the Subaru at Madrid, where I had the best T1, the second or third best T2 and I ended up dropping half a second in T3 ). I'm only chasing about 2 tenths over the whole lap now.

I was slow starting, a little rusty as haven't run this properly in weeks, but now i'm getting the hang of it đź‘Ť

Yay, an arcade week! And after a good 100 laps I actually like the track. :)

24.222
22.243

T1 feels good, seen 24.1's. But the T2 is my best yet, some work to do there. The kink is good (forgetting the 4 of 5 times when it is not), but the sharp left hander defeats me consistently.

And T3... so many lines to choose from. For now I am just trying to find the optimal spot to start accelerating, for max exit speed. But not yet sure about the best way to hit that spot in the first place.

What was odd though was I did a 65 lap stint in a row and over time the power seemed to disappear.

...

I seem to recall we had the same issues with another WRC car at Monaco, and it is a damage effect, even though damage is off. Restarting after a hard crash could be a good idea.

I seem to have some more trouble.

Is it also correct that when you take the Arcade only car, you can only change the tires? (I wanted to check power, weight, etc ...) before starting the run, but it was not available.

Vince you do know about the RA functions and being able to change the brake balance and the 4 wheel drive torque split, front to rear ratio, right?

If not find the wheel button mapping options screen and set it up or use a DS3 to change the race adjust function then restart the lap and use your wheel.

The torque split I think makes a huge difference time wise and for me only one seems to work good, the others are just slow.

Now I'm back to confused, regarding the kink. Understand T1 and T3 better, though.

24.262
22.619

So the way it works on the red button on a DFGT, but then mapped on another wheel. Clear now. Just will not go into that.

Another 10 laps tonight, and a little bit more improvement. I can see what I need to do,it's just translating it to reality on the cobbles that's the tricky bit!

24.483
22.377

...and a quarter of a second off T3 :)

Still way behind, have to combine some of the good sectors in one go:

24.883
22.722

After changing the brake balance, I found that the car was much more stable during the trail braking, particularly for turn 1. I would suggest to everyone to try 6/4.

For my second session I made these two excellent first sectors, only to finish with 0.073 at the line! I need to reproduce the first part and then make a better T3!

T1: 24.198
T2: 21.854

Nice splits Lapierre, tres bien! đź‘Ť

Gained quite a bit in the final sector, but still work to do in the first two.

24.355
22.305

First splits:
T1: 24.220
T2: 22.030

Seen 6 .1 T1's in a row but this will have to do for now.

In the past I was never particularly fond of Rome, but after being in Rome this year it was pretty cool to drive around. It was really like being back in Rome, the environment has been replicated soo good :)

I can remember multiple government cars with screaming sirens racing down the uphill section, getting on a picture with the gladiator next to the Forum Romanum on the road up to the Colluseum, the woman saying "that's a colossal building, is that the Colosseum?" pointing at the big white building in the first corner (:ouch:) etc, really cool! :)

My splits suffered under the sightseeing, and haven't driven Rome reverse before, so I did see quite some walls. I'll have to practice quite some more to be somewhat competitive, 50.x is the best T2 i've seen so far :dopey:
