It's interesting to note that the exact same splits that put me at the top of the leaderboard three days ago now barely are enough for a top ten spot.

:lol: I'm actually wanting to go a bit faster to gain top spot but the kink is killing my lap times :sly: If I could do the kink properly then I think there is another 2-3 tenths left in the lap.

I am now driving 2 handed instead of using 1 like I used to, but something is telling me if I went back to using 1 I might go faster. The wheel I have now is so much smoother compared to what i'm used to, and with all the adjustments you can make i'm spoiled for choice and not sure what settings to use that I am going to feel most comfortable with. It's a bit of a learning curve for me with my new driving style and set up at the moment, but hopefully I will soon find the best set up for me that I feel comfortable with.

The funny thing is, it is actually the pedals that are taking more time to get used to.

A couple of weeks and hopefully I will be flying :sly:

I think D1 gold is out of my reach at the moment, maybe the new set up and driving with 2 hands may help to make me faster. The wheel inputs are much smoother so hopefully this will help my cause to find those extra tenths the top guys find week in week out, time will tell.

I will have another run at this tonight and see if I can take a couple of tenths off, there is more time available but not sure if I should be taking the kink in 4th or 5th. Using 4th seems easier but I think if I can get it right using 5th I can hold more speed than I would have using 4th. Getting this corner right seems to be 1 in a million attempts though :ouch:
 
Is the kink the one before the uphill straight? That one is super tricky for me. Quite a few times I've been a tenth or two up before the corner only to find my ghost come flying past up the hill.

Finding this combo much more enjoyable than the GT Academy Nissan. The front grip makes the kink a lot of fun when you get it right.

I could never get comfortable using the DFGT with 2 hands, the paddle shifters (buttons more to the point) were horrible and I also kept banging my elbows on the arms of my chair. I had to get used to using 2 in Forza because it was a lot quicker using a button to shift rather than using the clutch. Forza isn't a bad game but it doesn't give me the satisfaction GT5 does. This may sound strange coming from a Forza fanboy so to speak but even with the lack of features GT5 still comes out on top for me.

As I said not having leaderboards is my main gripe about this game, just glad you guys have features of your own like the WRS to keep time trial enthusiasts interested:tup: Leaderboards are an absolute must for games these days and leaves me and others a bit frustrated that they seem to have been overlooked:ill:

As for the kink being fun as you put it :yuck::sly:

Hey All,

Sorry I haven't done any of these in awhile. Just had a go at this now.

T1: 24.143
T2: 22.021

I know a 23.9 is possible in T1 and I've had a 21.8 in T2 so will have another go tomorrow :).
 
I gave this combo a try and after first 19 laps my T2 was 46.xxx , 5/5 brakes 50/50 torgue split ABS1

Had no ghost to follow and once I exited on lap 20 check the replay , the Replay/Save Replay and Save Best Lap replay were unavaolable. (darkened)

Must be that I have no space left on the HD . :sly:

Yeah it is altho I always just thought of it as a chicane. Quite a few times when I tried several days ago I would run a PB to T1 only to crash thru the chicane on exit. Actually every time I would. haha

I have been doing the Eiger Rally TT since I last posted splits havent run another lap at Rome Reverse since.

I was waiting to race competivly toe to toe with a D2 driver and boy I dont really know if I can beat my OT it wont be easy.:)

I do love competition and being pushed beyond what I would think is even remotly possible to do for me. If Viper can it proves i can maybe run within hundreths of my PBs to the T2 checkpoint as well. haha

Odds are so slim its crazy to try but I will try anyhow. My current best OT has a Pb thru T3 at the end of it.:nervous:

I had thought that a higher rear torque split would help turn the car faster, but it certainly doesn't feel like it's working.

Beat my time at the line by over .4s. A couple of close calls with the walls, but I do believe it's clean. It was a total fluke, though, I might not even bother trying to beat this!

I had thought that a higher rear torque split would help turn the car faster, but it certainly doesn't feel like it's working.

I find it's the opposite, especially since you can get on the power aggressively and late apexes really benefit from a bit more power at the front. But maybe I'm making it up, I haven't really been consistent enough to draw conclusions.
 
Had a very frustrating session tonight, I finally have a good idea how to get through the kink but for the life of me can't get through the next left after the straight :ouch:

I have been 1-2 car lengths up on my ghost to this point and my ghost breezes past me with ease. Should of easily had some sub 45 T2s tonight but this corner decided it would be the real problem for me tonight :grumpy:

Any ideas on the best way to tackle this corner guys? I will have another run at it before the deadline but could do with some tips for this corner because I have completely lost my way around it:ouch:

Please don't tell me it's one of those slow in fast out corners as I am terrible at taking corners that way

Did that on my 3rd lap, spent the next half hour losing 4 tenths in sector 2 every time. Screw that kink and it's random grip levels.

Well, I think it is one of those.

My best times comes when I delay the turn-in a bit for a late apex which enables me to get on the throttle early. It's also tricky to get the right amount of trailbraking so that the back won't step out which always means lost time. I take it in third but sometimes I wonder if it's not better to actually coast through the turn-in in fourth and then immediately change down to third. Overheated tyres will also kill you in this corner.

But then again, I'm much slower than you through the second sector so what do I know. :)

Thanks for sealing my fate :sly: Some helpful info there though so will try it again later today. I did notice I was burning up the tires on entry which was making me under steer towards the wall on exit, this was costing me a couple of tenths I had gained easily:tup:

I was on fire last night through the kink, I just hope I can do the same today after the F1. I was running mid .0s to low .1s in T1 but loosing all that time in the sharp left:ouch:

Best T2 yet, after way too many laps. T1 has been more than a tenth faster, maybe 30% of the time.
 
When I posted my splits last night I didn't realise how good they were. I got two of the three tenths I was looking for this morning. I'm finding 50/50 torque and 3/7 brake balance to be best.

EDIT: Fetchy isnt updating anyones splits. I wanted to see how close Lucas and The Wilco are and its showing their old splits, Race Ryders as well.
