Time submitted with posted splits. Loved the combo, I just ran out of time. Off to Eiger!

49.771
44.553
1'25.824

After 2 very frustrating hours of touching walls... a run I'm finally happy with. Will submit with these splits, I'm too close to my limit.

Edit: just out of curiosity, those of you who are fairly consistent on tarmac, do you find it harder to be consistent on snow?

Argh, so frustrated. Managed these splits:

T1 - 48.457
T2 - 43.184
T3 - 1'24.353

Only to have a small bump with the barrier on the exit of the last corner of T3 🤬

Don't know if I can do that lap again.

Why post splits then if your lap is dirty?

Why post splits then if your lap is dirty?

Because I like to have those times there as a target to beat, dirty or not. As the only dirty part was the bump on the wall, it's realistic enough for me to be able to beat those splits, and I will not be happy until I do. That's why I do it, to motivate and push me to go quicker. This will not be the lap I will submit with of course, I will change my splits on the leaderboard before I submit whether they are slower or quicker. I hope people don't have a problem with this, if they do I will just post clean splits, although most of my posted splits are clean anyway :)

I only post splits from clean laps Biffy, but each to his own. If you want a record of what you've done and are capable of, why not keep a spreadsheet like the one attached?

I would post mine, but i'm using the same excel file with the qualifier splits
I don't have any skills using Excel, but I see Carlos have ;). Guess I need to make a change, with these min and sum variables 👍

Good one, Jon. I basically do the same, but I have to use a simpler one for my pea brain. :sly:

So you're willingly messing up the leaderboard for your own personal needs?
Nice sportsmanship there. 👍 Keep it up.

Quite happy with this lap. Think I'll call it quits and move on to Eiger.

49.664
44.657
1'25.934

Horrible T2 and a meh T1.

49.223
44.171
1'24.340

Ouuuups, wrote down wrong T3.

Correct splits:
49.223
44.171
1'24.638

Looks like I'm submitting, can't seem to catch that 1 second left in me.
If I find some time I'll give it one more go tomorrow.
Also, what the f...is it normal that my car stays on 214hp (418pp) after 450km? I did an oil change too...

Practice at Indy or Daytona and hold the throttle open with a brick or rubber band or a cat or whatever you can find... Go to bed, wake up next day, all fixed :)

I'm not that consistent on tarmac, and too on snow. My M3 top10 laps were 2 tenth apart. The 307cc ones are about 1" apart, which means, pondered with lap lenght, about the same consistency.

I didn't like it too 👎
I spent hours trying to beat your red splits, mate.

Here my last ones:

T1: 48.703
T2: 43.251
T3: 1'24.092

I saw a 48.4xx in first and already wrote about the 42.99x in the second, but can live gifting to my contenders half a second....errrr.....I've to work this afternoon :yuck:

@EDK: I didn't say it enough. Great combo, indeed. The 307 @ 225CV is PERFECT for this track. Also learned Chamonix main, as I mainly rally with custom tracks :)

EDIT: I spent half an hour checking my lap. Would be a tough work: don't forget that you don't have replay 'chapters' after T2 checkpoint...
Submitting now, good luck to all.

We don't request replays for verification of splits, only for submissions. So there's no real risk in putting up dirty splits, other than the fact that it can be deceptive. In this case you've told us they're dirty, so it's not even that.

It is, however, misleading, and I would prefer that you post your fastest clean splits, as I think you would find the majority of members do. If you want to chase that dirty ghost to your heart's content, go for it. That's different than posting splits on the board from a lap you know you won't be submitting.

Had one more shot at this, submitting with these splits.

T1 49.278
T2 44.767
T3 1'25.778

I see, I like the organisation of that and it is nice to see you go to the effort of having a record of your previous and current times to beat. It is something I've previously considered, although I do not own a Spreadsheet program, except for Excel but I can only view spreadsheets on there.

So you're willingly messing up the leaderboard for your own personal needs?

Wow, as if that level of sarcasm is in any way needed. Seems like you've just assumed that I post dirty splits up every time I put them on the leaderboard. In fact the number of dirty splits I've posted in total in the WRS is three. Yes, that's right, three, hardly criminal. Add to that fact that I never post those splits if they caused me to be faster in any possible way than if I had been clean or if I was dirty consistently, then I really don't see how I'm messing up the leaderboards. The last splits I posted up, if you read properly, were only made dirty because of a small bump at the very end of T3, making my time slower. My T1 and T2 were completely clean, and pretty much all of my T3 was clean, so why are you making such a big deal out of this? Seems completely uncalled for.

I didn't like it too 👎
I spent hours trying to beat your red splits, mate.

Even though I understand, read above. You've chased two clean splits and another split which would have been clean (and faster) if it were not for a small bump.

Thanks for posting a structural response, I was hoping for some clarification from you on this matter. And yes I agree with you, you're right and I'm sorry that I posted up those splits to the dismay of others, despite some of the responses being just generally rude. I realise now I should have contacted you for clarification on this, but I wasn't doing it to get any ill gain from it, I just thought that as I was posting splits compromised by a small bump etc very strictly (no gained time, only one dirty event in the lap), it would not be a big issue. It looks like I was wrong in that case so if people want I will not submit a time this week.

We've probably all made posts here or there that we're not proud of. I agree, it was a little over the top. But now that I've provided some guidance, can we just leave well enough alone?

No problem. I think the main issue is that we're a day before deadline, and you don't know for sure if you're going to be able to pass those splits.

I can say that I've even occasionally posted splits from a borderline lap from a first session. In that case, the lap would be reflective of my pace, and I would know that I could beat the splits with a clean lap in a later session.

Does someone want to ostracize me for it? :P

Well I for one would never ever post splits that are _dirty_ :ill:

That someone would actually do such a preposterous thing really shows how far our society has fallen.

Edit: Just wanted to come back and say how outraged I am by this behaviour. Shame on you.

Or something like that :dunce:

I didn't say dirty. Just borderline. Maybe a little too close to a wall for comfort, or 2 wheels barely on a rumble strip. A lap I would not submit, but a lap I know I can beat.

OK Kevin. I am henceforth not speaking to you on grounds of deliberately misleading your loyal and trusting WRSers. I am unsure of how long it will take me to get over the shock so just let this be a lesson to you. :scared:

Had another go, broke the car in and tried Chris's tune.
Ended up going 0.3 faster, still away from my goal but I will have one more go.

I just have to thank you for that. I improved a lot following these splits, so now I'm virtually ahead in D2 with fingers crossed at their breaking limit :D
I understand you got a slower T3 with that little bump, but were very indeed very fast, and a good target for all D2ers. I saw better splits than your T1 and T2 only once, all laps ruined later with a small bump; just consider we all want to give up, before or after, but I can't accept being 1" slower than a division mate :mischievous:
Why someone would want you not submitting a time this week. I just hope you can manage another good one in time and post newer (faster or slower, doesn't matter) splits.

Yeah I noticed, your splits are superb, not sure if I can match them again :scared:. I just managed a 48.3xx in my recent fast lap but was 4 tenths down by the end of T3, going to try and hammer down my times and see if I can get under 2'56, going to take some effort though

Did a short session but my heart wasn't in it. Submitted with the splits on the board.

49.078

Submitting soon with these, good enough for me.

Sorry Biffy I forgot that you're on your phone. Can you get a spreadsheet app for it? Otherwise you could always go old fashioned and use a pen and a piece of paper :sly:

For what it's worth, I see absolutely no reason for you not to submit a time this week.

Submitting with:
T1: 48.239
T2: 42.739
T3: 1'22.942

Edit: Thanks Dan.:D
