Etc, etc....OMGSPLITS

D3 Bronze Blair!? You're on course for a promotion lad :D

@Biffy - Cracking times. You're gonna upset Peter  I somehow need to find 1 second in T1,T2 & T3 - not too sure how yet, just need to lap and lap and lap - like Thomas said, it's all about the corner transition/flow.

Another funny session, joining the T1 sub 49 club :D

T1: 48.716
T2: 43.945
T3: 1.24.887

EDIT: just with a shorter 2nd gear and no T4 big misses, finally.
T1: 48.963
T2: 43.683
T3: 1.24.763

Since I already had a lap I was pretty happy with, I decided to try some different setups and go for broke.

I just had my T1 of a lifetime, I couldn't believe it when the time flashed up.:) Would have been the best on the board, honest, no joking.

I wish I wouldn't have looked at it though, I got so nervous and cautious I gave half of it back by the end of the lap.

I saved the replay right away and started reviewing, real close call at the top of the hill with the wood posts, but cleared by a hair. So far so good. Was giving a little extra room now trying to finish clean, still my best lap by far. All is looking good until. Until the very last corner, tried cutting it close to get a good drive to the finish line. Just ticked that stupid red mesh fence with the mirror.:ouch:

One inch from my best lap ever in the WRS.

Got to take a break now, maybe give it another go tomorrow.

I just rechecked my fastest lap and found this:

🤬:banghead:

Updated splits, lost 0.4 in T3 but gained a tad over a second over the whole lap. Thanks for the video Chris, I can now be comfortably ahead of my ghost by the overhead bridge but a couple of car lengths, but get all cautious at the end of T1 now and loose it all :dopey: So basically still the same T1 ..

No worries Peter :) Yeah its a problem when you're ahead of your ghost there... I keep doing it msyelf, hence the slower 1st sector I have now. Calm and smooth, early on the power 👍

Chris, what about making videos of other sectors too ? :sly:

What and spoil the surprise? :sly:

Improved my T3 by 6 tenths...

Nice improvement Jordan 👍

EDK
Is that clear enough for everyone?

Crystal Kev. 👍 Its worth noting though, guys, that if you end up on the banking in turn 13, you're off the optimal line and losing time.

I don't think I have ever run a combo where so much time is gained with each session. I have started the habit of keeping my first saved laps each week to compare that time with the submitted final time. I noticed yesterday that I am now a full 10 seconds quicker in my latest saved lap.

I particularly like a combo where it is the flow that makes a quick time and not like Rome reverse where it's only a matter of lucking out and missing the wall in one corner.

Yeah this track is very rewarding once you get into a rhythm isn't it? Its very satisfying knocking whole seconds off instead of just tenths. Although I'm now down to just knocking tenths off of course but I'm 12 seconds faster than my first laps. :)

One inch from my best lap ever in the WRS.

Great splits you have already Blair 👍 Now its time for some chukability :sly: If you've managed that sector time once, you can do it again. Calmness is key and the old 'don't think, feel' cliche :P You've got it in you, you know you have. 👍

New splits for me. Swapped T1 for T2 and OK 3rd sector, solid run to the line:

48.165
43.145
1'23.505

Keeping it neat and tidy on the decimals :P Looking for about 0.5 on the lap now I think - 0.4 in sector 2, 0.1 in sector 3. Happy with what I have so far though. :)

Very unlucky there viper. So many laps gone that way this week. :ouch:

49.834
44.762
1'27.584

Gained some here, lost some there... only a small improvement at the line.

Using the Chris setup, now, but not the Chris driving yet, unfortunately... :(

T1: 49.106
T2: 43.438

O_O amazing T2, mate!

And awful mirror scratching. I guess you didn't notice any bump or data log slowdown when doing this. Is it second corner?

I didn't notice anything while driving and the data log showed nothing. It was the last corner.

I had three wonderful, fast and clean runs with mirror clips, finally got a good, correct, and clean run, making sure mirrors were not a issue. My real car has folding mirrors. Only wishing!

Here's a big shout to the D3 racer tearing up the leaderboard!!!

AWESOME JOB, BLAIR!!!!

I always love to see division 3 step up!!! 👍
Enjoy the moment, and race on! :)

I intend to race this tomorrow afternoon, so should have some splits then!

Racing On!

I guess it's a GT5 engine glitch: no collision detection for mirrors :irked:

Well, either way, visible contact with a wall or object with part of your car (mirror included) is not allowed.

Sorry that it deletes some laps, but that's how it goes.

Looking back at the Viper shoot, it doesn't seem a photomode one. I learned from Ryanerb late green flag in Suzuka East event that there are differences between real time preview and more accurate photomode. Maybe mirror collision detection is correct and a shoot in the same position doesn't show any contact.

I know it's no more your best lap, but would be of interest for replay checkers.

I think the photomode images are real. It's only a matter of the timing between the pause of the main screen and the timing of the pic. Same thing happens with exhaust flames. Take me some pics of some. ;)

Geez Dale! I give up!

I know this same area has been discussed before, but I was going to submit this lap so I want to be sure one way or the other.

It looks to me that the right tires are on the main road surface, and the left's are on the inclined area that is not main road surface. The transition point looks to be between the inside of the right tire and the bottom inside of the right headlight bezel.

What's your thought's guys. Kevin, what's your call.

You're fine. I revised the rules so that the gigantic, abrupt curb-like elevations are the only out of bounds area.

I really don't like revising rules mid-week, but this was more of a clarification, and a flip flop. :P

Submit the lap, but I think you should try and find those splits you were on yesterday. It's a once in a blue moon opportunity to challenge the D1 guys. 👍

Thanks for the quick reply Kevin, I feel better now.:)

I tried some more laps this morning but just didn't have it, I must of been in the zone yesterday. Maybe give it one more shot tomorrow.

Yup. 👍 :)

First time posting splits!!! I've been meaning to get around to this all week, but I just couldn't find the time. It also took me quite a while to successfully complete an entire clean lap  I know I have at least two or three seconds in there based on splits I've lost, but I'm not sure I'll have the time to try to put it all together.

T1: 49.748
T2: 44.733
T3: 1'26.991

Submitting with these splits. Small mistake in the esses but probably only 1 or 2 tenths in it anway.

Changed front RH from max to min, that's it. 💡
Good luck All!

Well, I guess I didn't get to dedicate as much time as I wanted on this one. Oh well...

I'm going to run this for a few hours now. It's more to play with the tuning on snow! :dopey: I'll be busy this week, so I'll be submitting whatever results I get and heading to Eiger!! 👍

Racing On!

I can't believe it. I clipped the fences on the backstraight where are the bumps with my best lap this evening :grumpy:
So here is the second, with a 5 tenth slower second split (was 42.999):

T1: 48.840
T2: 43.461
T3: 1.24.590

Argh, so frustrated. Managed these splits:

T1 - 48.457
T2 - 43.184
T3 - 1'24.353

Only to have a small bump with the barrier on the exit of the last corner of T3 🤬

Don't know if I can do that lap again.
