What d'yer mean, next lap invalidated?

If you get the line right, the 1st sector can be taken in 4th all the way to the braking point for the first tunnel, then down to 2nd for the apex.

Chris, I find this intriguing as I shift to 4th at the line, but then brake and shift back down to 3rd soon after for that first left/right and stay in 3rd for the rest of the sector. If you have time and feel so inclined, could you please post a video of your first sector, as you have done in the past? I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one to benefit from it, either!

Another session and still enjoying but i think it can became crazy at the end of the week

T1: 18.093
T2: 28.873
T3: 24.317 (and then i choke big time, as usual :banghead::irked:)

B/B 6/7 AbS 2

How can you set the brake balance (B/B 6/7) in arcade mode with arcade only cars??? I don´t see this option.

:) Sweet, Daniel. I've gone back and forth with using-3rd-in-T1, and hadn't decided on which was best.

@praiano: You have to go into the Options menu and map buttons to the (Race Adjustment) RA functions.

You need to map your Controller to use the RA functions, then you can do it while you are running your laps.

Information from this thread. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=180298

The weekly race event thread states that we can use In-Race Functions, what is this?

When racing you can tweak the following settings on-track: Traction Control, ABS, Torque Distribution (only available on 4WD cars) and Front/Rear Brake Balance. DFGT users will know that they can access this by pressing the big red button on the steering wheel and adjusting with the little wheel and the +/- buttons on the left side of the wheel. If you are using other wheels you will need to go in to the options menu from GT Home (or the main menu) and set-up your controller so that it can access the In-Race Functions. DS3 users will need to find some spare buttons, which won't be too hard if you are using the sticks to drive.

When you set up these functions they will be saved the next time you use them (clarification for Arcade mode).

Personally I'm now shooting for just matching Blair.

Hey Lucas, crazy combo you picked.👍

Don't know whether to thank you or curse you.

I've done a lot of these today-

Its one of those where you have to thrash it mercilessly Tim. Smooth steering inputs and once you have traction, just mash the throttle. And take it right up to the red-line before shifting. If you get the line right, the 1st sector can be taken in 4th all the way to the braking point for the first tunnel, then down to 2nd for the apex. 2nd for the sharp right after the tunnel, then 3rd for the next right and the left through the second tunnel. 2nd for the long left after the back straight. 2nd again for the right hander at the end of sector 3, up to 3rd then back down to 2nd for the hairpin. 3rd for the chicane. You can take the chicane in 4th but if you're off the optimum line just a fraction, you lose too much speed so 3rd is a good compromise. Hope that helps a bit - seems to be working ok for me. :)

Awesome tips Chris. Thank you very much. 👍

I'm busy with the online rain event at Suzuka for the next 30 hours or so, but starting on Thursday I plan to thrash this Maserati as instructed.

You shouldn't listen to Chris!! He's dyslexic, and says the exact opposite of what he means! When he says downshift to second, he really means upshift to fourth! Trust me! :sly:

And maybe you should take extra care with your race in the rain!

It might keep you busy until, say, next Monday!

I'm so inconsistent with this combo it's frustrating :banghead:

I just beat this save...

by .008 at the line with this...

18.185
28.669
24.191
👎

.1 slower at T1, .2 slower at T2 and 1 1/2 tenths at T3 to beat it at the line :ouch:

Best splits I have seen so far are 17.955 at T1 and 46.5 at T2 👎 nerves are getting the better of me after I nail the first 2 sectors, will keep at it anyway  I'll be in the east ward of the loonie bin if anyone wants me :P

I'm sure with a little more practice, you'll be fine!!

And Wes with his "twenty minutes"!

As soon as I sober up, it's back to the track!!

What fun :) The gearing is very workable and the car is the most forgiving yet that I have run around this course.

Good Luk Kevin "Where Ever You Are" :)

T1: 18.850
T2: 29.511
T3: 24.653

I'd rather be inconsistent and fast, like you Mr P, than consistent and slow. Unfortunately, I'm both inconsistent AND slow. :grumpy:

19.186
30.611
25.137

Down almost a second from my previous. Stupidly I saved the whole replay instead of the ghost so I have to hope I can beat it.

Gave it an hour tonight, and WOO HOO! One tenth overall! :dunce: T4 was not as heroic as my previous, so these splits look better than they "really are". Still jealous of Blair's T2.

I apologize in advance for this question which undoubtedly has been answered before but I just cant find it. The white stuff inside of the red and white kerb in the final chicane is track, right?

Had to quit racing last night literally for the safety of my racing equipment  This pic here reminds me all too well 👎 apart from mine never flipped!

Lost a 17.9 / 46.5 / 1'10.6 all down at the very last turn before the line, I clipped the little sticky out rumble with too much car and done multiple 360 spins in that little section instead and never even crossed the finish line :yuck: PS3 was turned off instantly and I went to bed before it took it's first flight :indiff:

will go back later after work as I know I'm leaving shedloads on track after that joke lap has demonstrated to me :ill:

GL to all 👍 stay cool :P

Just for my own peace of mind is it legal to be this far over in the last turn ?

Quoting the "All Hard Surfaces are considered Track Surface. This includes tarmac, painted tarmac, red and white rumbles, and concrete/sidewalks"

EDIT: dont worry just read a previous post someone asked the same question :dunce:

You are most welcome Tim. I need to get some online practice in for the wet race but this combo keeps getting in the way... :P

You shouldn't listen to Chris!!
Never a truer word uttered in jest :P

Its this track Ron :P - I'm pretty inconsistent at the best of times but Trial Mountain makes a mockery of my expectations when I put my best sectors in Excel

And there's me trying to keep 2 wheels on the rumble strip :sly:

I thought the frustration level would be through the roof if that concrete were considered out of bounds (especially being the last corner, and a high-speed one at that), so we made it legal, same as in Week 2 Supraman.

Also mentioned sidewalks are legal, like the ones on both sides of the first tunnel.

EDIT: Also, I've heard people say, on Monza for example, that the rubbered areas of the track have slightly more grip. We have rubbered paths here on Trial Mountain too, anyone notice if those are slightly grippier? I notice Chris nicely kept it on the rubbered path. :P

Thanks Chris, very nice of you. Very impressive, too. Now I'll try and see if I can approximate this.

Probably my favourite original track, so hopefully will have a good run this week.

Had very slow splits for the last half hour, then changed bb from 8/2 to 7/3 and went 7tenths quicker!

Edit - new splits.

T1 18.531
T2 28.894
T3 24.689

Finding I can loose a lot of time very easily in the first sector. Hopefully will be able to get it right later in the week. I think the fastest line is very narrow and needs good judgement......or in my case lots of trial and error lol.
