Never a truer word uttered in jest :P

Entirely in jest, sir! :) I have the utmost respect for you and truly appreciate your willingness to share.

edit: Latest splits:
T1: 18.311
T2: 28.667
T3: 24.473

This is fun, even though I haven't gotten any faster in the few laps at a time that I can put down. Wonder if I'm getting slowed down with the "modified" bodywork that I keep giving it... :P

I'm not much of a drifter, so these kinda surprised me!

Edit: though I think my drifting skills may have been slightly improved with the much lighter FFB that we now have after 2.04.

Seriously though. I just can't get to grip (ha ha) with the first sector. A perfect line with good speed can result in a 18.5 T1 while a sloppy one with lots of missed apexes and low speeds yield a 18.1. The rest of the lap is almost easy to nail consistently in comparison

No worries :)

Youtube masterclass...

I make no apologies for quoting Chris' video - excellent driving :scared:

In an attempt to support Lucas in his first event as host and Chief Steward, I had a go at this last night. If I were to record my first sector, it might look something like this (and last just as long )...

Great combo Lucas and the car is a peach to drive, but I'm already too far behind the game to start this week. Will have a couple of days off and be back for week 52

For those that are not familiar with the absolute genius that is Ari Vatanen (1981 World Rally Champion), feel free to educate yourself here and more famously here.

Managed to get the 3rd sector under my magic barrier of 1.12.xxx earlier... Went to go check out the replay.... DAMN!!!

First corner.... Was just on the grass by a hairline. Seriously, it was no more than a few mm, but was clearly visible :(

Then haven't been able to get anywhere near it since!

Try again tomorrow....

Thanks for reminding me GT5 is amazing and that WRS is so addictive!!!!

Finally making some headway on this. I've seen much better T1 & 2 times, just can't connect 4 good ones in the same lap as of yet...

T1: 19.176
T2: 29.919
T3: 24.629

I've got my 3 hour english class tonight, so I'm done for now, but I'm going to take a serious go at this tomorrow!

Lord please give me strength to not take my wheel and smash the TV with it.

Fun combo though 👍.

T1: 18.288
T2: 28.949
T3: 24.370

Inspecting Chris's T1 Video, wow a lot of smart decisions to learn from it! :dopey:
Take the very first apex for example, you intentionally let the car a bit on the dirty right side resulting in a much more front end slide into the apex which itself gives you a great positioning for the jumpy second apex 👍, the landing is worked beautifully as you also had a great positioning for the long left curb! used all the circuit and then! relying more on engine braking you shifted to 3rd without hitting the brakes and second immediately (higher rev sound than usual) with managing to brake in a straight line! before hugging the tunnel apex, again landing the bump with great positioning for the next right hander the start of T2.
I have to say your steering work should be like this guy in the scary rally video posted later.:nervous:
By the way if I were that rally driver I indeed would need new underpants and a cig!:dunce:

I think the driver took it in his stride, the co-driver on the other hand was the one facing the fence post at 100mph...

Lord please give me strength to not take my wheel and smash the TV with it.

Fun combo though 👍.

+1:lol:

I thought I damaged my wheel today running this combo. Thought the bearing had gone south. What happened is all the fasteners came loose that hold the wheel to the mounting plate. Also the post on the rig itself came loose.:nervous:

I have the FFB turned way up for this one, it's shaking things apart. Nothing a wrench and screwdriver couldn't fix, but it gave me a scare.:scared:

This car gets upset, and that makes me upset. Slower T1 and T2 times, but I improved T3 finally.

T1:0'18.930
T2:0'29.539
T3:0'24.682

Mixed fortunes this evening but improved in the end:

18.109
28.677
24.134

Looking for another 0.4 for the 'magic' lap but will be happy with another 0.2 in reality. Seen plenty of 18.0s and a few 17.9s in sector 1 and started seeing 28.5 and a couple of 28.4 2nd sectors. This lap has my best 3rd sector and an ok run to the line (I think).

Enough for today anyway. Glad the video was of some use

First splits after 2 sessions:

T1: 18.761
T2: 28.743
T3: 24.346

Lost 3 tenths on my PB in T1. PB in T2 and T3.

Gained. 45 on the overall lap. Still about. 2 left. Can't believe I only gained one spot on the leaerboard though.

18.220
28.780
24.483

Seriously wanted to throw my DS3 through my TV today.

See that my time has dropped way down the board.

Will try to get some time in on the weekend.

Have a DFGT coming with some GranTurgismo paddles to adapt to. May sit next week out so I can adjust but well see.

Great combo this week just really difficult!

Justin

OK, I can understand that. You see people wanting to destroy their equipment, and then I go ahead and admit that I'm progressing at the rate of .004 (overall; tonight 👎) per session, and you decide to walk the high road. I get it. Well, I know what Week 53 and 54 are bringing, and I'm really hoping you and the gang enjoy them more than the tank I've chosen. :ouch: j/k :lol: As a good buddy told me, I'm a "grown man crying about a video game".

Nice pics Toy. 👍

I saw some 18.2xx T1's tonight (mostly thank to Chris:D), but I'm still at 29.0xx for T2.

 no it was more that in the 20 minutes I had last night, I hit all the tunnel walls and was about two seconds off the pace at T3. Mix that with (another) open house (would someone please buy the 🤬 thing) and some crazy things happening at work at the moment, and I thought discretion was the better part of valour!

The car felt great on the SS tyres though and it sounds marvelous :D

Good luck though, sounds like you're enjoying it :sly: 👍

Really struggling with T1 and T2 today.:ouch:

Better T3 and OA.

Can't take any more of it today. Hopefully I can clean up T1 and T2 tomorrow and be done with it.:sly:

T1, 18.545
T2, 28.812
T3, 24.376

New splits:

T1 18.398
T2 28.737
T3 24.502

Could have hit the braking point better at the end of the back straight and got on the power earlier for the left at the end of t3.

Glad I could help Lucas. Sector 2 is the most difficult sector to get right in my opinion. I find sector 1 relatively painless in spite of the speed and potential for disaster... :sly: Although, as Thomas said, there is some element of mystery in sector 1 - what feels good could be 0.4 slower than one that feels totally out of control. I did a 18.011 earlier taking the tunnel sideways then missed my braking point in surprise.

Having said that, sector 3 is pretty hard to nail repeatedly.

So is sector 4.

This is a b**** of a track aint it? :P

Sorry to hear your troubles Jon. You know, a bit of WRS would distract you somewhat, even if temporary insanity was one of the side-effects :sly:

And just to prove that you shouldn't restart if you can't beat your ghost through sector 1...

18.210 (:yuck:)
28.577
24.161

Up 0.03 at the line. :dopey: Still looking for 0.4 or so on the lap.....

New splits:

Great splits Lou. You aint staying in D3 for long methinks. 👍
