Well, Jack's back, and you know Speedy's going to run to the deadline...I better go run some right now, while you're (presumably) stuck at work on a Friday afternoon!

I'm counting on the fact that Christophe is going to wear himself out by running too many online races in the middle of the night and then running in some of the Marathon races on Saturday :sly:

Forgot about Jack (sorry Jack) - I've only beaten him twice (wk24 and wk26) and we've had some very close battles, but there have been too many times when he's disappeared off into the distance - hopefully this won't be one of those occasions

And yes, I am stuck at work :irked:

Annoyingly enough, I do most of my laps after midnight.. :dopey:

Which means I'm probably not as fast as I could (or should) be :grumpy:

I just don't find the time in the day to do any :(

Another noob question from me,
Can someone explain the tranny trick as a lot of the posted setups say
Tranny Trick with a XXXmph or final gear.
Im not sure how to go about setting up a tranny trick?

Im using Carlos version 2 set up and I can get 0.5 off my best between sectors 2 and 3 but keep screwing the final corner so end up .17 slower.
I love the handling on this setup but wanna try this tranny trick but just dont understand it.

Cheers

Reset your tranny to default setting. Move the final gear slider full right. Move sixth gears slider full right. Move first gear slider full left. Now move the top speed slider full left. Adjust the final gear to the left until the blue speed in the top left corner says the speed indicated. You will then need to adjust 2nd thru 5th gears evenly making a nice looking graph. Test drive and watch after you shift your revs drop. I think they are suppose to drop a little less thru each gear and when you have no large weird jumps or drops just smooth you know your golden.

Thats a basic trick tranny.

You can find the magic blue number to adjust your final gear to yourself driving a default tranny at the track and setting the top speed slider until your hitting redline in 6th gear at the fastest section of the track. Its at the entry of the first corner and its 179 or 180 mph on your speedo but on the graph in the upper right it will say around 200mph.

Some guys like to hit the rev limiter in 6th at the fastest point in the track. I dont because it makes your oil dirty very fast if the shift indicator is flashing alot. If its not you can drive forever before having to change the oil.

A few more laps., got to get back at it, Div 4 is on the hunt.

Thanks Jack,
I'd read the link in the earlier post but that didnt really add up, this explains it a lot clearer. Im currently wanging the rev limiter into turn one now at about 178 so I think Carlos had the setting about right.
I will mess with it a bit later today.
Without you guys posting settings Im at a loss, I couldnt tune a car to save my life.
But im 3 seconds a lap faster with Carlos's setting than the stock ones. :)

Ive done about 60-70 laps now so probally need an oil change, I didnt think of that!!

Any chance you'd like to share your complete setup with me/us including tranny ratios? your currently sitting in 7th and im 17th so dont think Im a risk to you lol :)

Or you could try my set up that (importantly, FOR ME) put me 4 tenths faster then with Jon's tune.

It shouldn't be more any further then a page back.

...inching...closer...

Don't worry Jon, unless your T3 sucks. Slight drop down the leaderboard, but a better T3 for .07 on the lap.

I did 20+ laps till I could tell the power had dropped off, came back and ran 20+ more, and almost gave up, but since the power was still at the max, decided on doing a few more. 1st lap out was golden, except almost as close as week 18 on the first chicane. I'm calling it clean, but I'm hoping to beat this one too.

I am wearing myself a bit out actually.:nervous: Didn't have time to run yesterday, was busy with last weeks podium vid.
I think I'll go to bed early this evening to strike back hard on sunday and monday up untill deadline. :mischievous:

You might only get 10 or 20 laps before losing horsepower. you can look in the tuning menu at your HP and see if its dropped. If so time for a oil change.

Yeah Ill post my tune again I might have changed a few things but not much. Im still searching for something to help me get thru T2 quicker.

...snip...

Gonna try this tune once I've got a coffee. 👍

Will probably post results and submit time as my last time was 'dirty' by about 5 millimetres. 👎

So that's Tim and Baron out of the D2 race. I know Matt's going to try and get some runs in over the weekend, and Joao has been quiet of late, so it looks like its going to be a quiet week Lucas.

Although Chuk did say he was going to run "for fun"... :mischievous:

Yup, you all alone on this mate, bought the car, tune it (yours and Chris) went for some laps and this combo is not for me, don´t really like the track :ouch:

Good luck my friend

Just know that you will use a setup for DS3 users on your DFGT. :odd:

And I realised that straight away cause of the massive oversteer.. :ouch:

Anyway, I eventually went .046 faster then my 'dirty' lap only to find I cut the first part of that chicane. Then I went back and altered the setup slightly and came across the line .2 slower. (I was happy because it was clean.) only to notice I couldn't save it because I had done a faster lap in that current session.. (which was dirty :ouch:)

More time is gonna have to be put into this.. :grumpy:

Wow!

Havent had any time this week to get driving :(

Hoping to get some time tonight and over the weekend to get some laps down around Monza!

Some great times posted already... and some very useful tunes im sure! 👍

Just when I get used to seeing the Penguin, he changes his avatar!! :sly:

I'm pretty sure you are safe from me this week, Jon. You are in the top five overall, you know!!! 👍👍

I haven't even broken the car in yet, and the chicanes are killing me. :ouch: I will make it a point to post some splits today, but don't expect much. :dopey:

First I have to get a pot of coffee in me and wait for the lingering effects of last night's wonderful IMPERIAL I.P.A. wear off. :) It's a great beer, [Harpoon's Leviathan] but at over 9% alcohol, it packs a wallop!!!

And to you, Christophe!

Great combo!! 👍👍 I wish I had more time for this one, but I'll see what I can do over the next couple of days. Fortunately, we once again have some tunes to choose from. Thanks to Chris, Jon, and Jack for their posts!!! :) You guys have provided another great example of why this is such an awesome community to be in!:gtpflag:

Racing On!

edit: It's nice to see Bryan [btcanon] with some company in D5!

edit again!: The D3 race is shaping up pretty nicely. Very close!! :)
Al is getting quicker every week in D4. 👍 I expect to see you in D3 soon, judging by your abilities shown in on-line events! And Dale looks to be on pace for a divisional podium! 👍

Alright, I'll stop typing and go back to the coffee. Almost sober enough to try some laps! :sly:

Don´t drive Monza, or TGTT, i prefer a concrete wall at the apex than putting the exterior tire on a [good] paint.....:ouch:

Hope i`ll do better during the week-end.

Why does everyone else have a T1 of 10 seconds faster than mine? Seems odd as my T2 is more realistic.

Are you on the right track? Sounds like you might be using the layout with the chicane on the main straight.

Chris, thanks for the video. I think we are witnessing the birth of a tradition. I would even suggest that in the future, a spot should be reserved in the OP for your T1 video! :dopey:

Amen to that! Hopefully this trend will continue and all divisions will be well represented every week. 👍

I guess you have jumped on the monza with chicanes, we are doing no chicanes here :)

WRS Admin/race Stewards:

Couple of [probably] "duh" questions for clarity on my part:

OP Quotes:
Power: 466 HP (Stock Car with Oil Change) - This number may go up with Engine Break In. Max Power is fine.

With over 400 miles and all options added [turbos cannot be added on my car, by the way, I have yet to see anything higher than 459hp!

Turbo or Supercharger : Not Allowed. Turbo is verifiable by checking for the turbo meter on the HUD.

Is this non-applicable with this car?

Tarmac and Red and White Rumbles are Track
Nothing Else is Track
Green surfaces next to rumble strips are not track

Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track

The red-bolded text above includes the green rumble strips [see below pic] as well, correct?

350greenrumble.jpg

Thanks in advance.

Have run a few laps tonight....

Since running some on Monday, I have dropped my overall time by almost 6 seconds! It's amazing what a good tune and some practice can do!

T1: 22.935
T2: 41.713

I'm losing loads of time in the first chicane and the lesmos... Just can't work out the line!!!

Gotta say a massive thanks to Chris for his tune :) thanks mate!!! 👍

Same as, in fact my top 3 times all .08 apart cut the first chicane :grumpy:

And my next best .2 off that couldn't be saved :(
