Thank you segovia, missed a few things like window and engine upgrades. Duh! Division 4 was kicking my rear.

No problem, Dale. Please call me Daniel 👍

So, I'm convinced there's a bug with having the Square button on a DS3 as your brake. Every now and then when pressed it doesn't do anything, you have to re press for it to work (happened last night during the EU online practice, sorry Pekka :indiff: ). I used to think it was just because my controller was 3+ years old and just worn out. But the one I'm using is less than 2 months old.

However, at Monza I can't get a clean lap because of this. EVERY lap (managed 10 before I had to quit or my TV would of broke) I brake for the Ascari corner and it happens, I shoot off into the sand. It's never happened this bad before, I nearly got to the point of throwing the DS3 at the TV :grumpy:

Rant over.

Maybe try swapping gear change (R2 & L2) with accelerator and brake (X & Square).

You get better control with them too 👍

My wife got me a new controller for valentines day...Huge difference!

If you post your splits in this thread, they automatically show up on the leaderboard. You only send a PM to WRSfetchbot at the end of the week, and the PM only contains your final lap time.

As soon as i clicked post I figured that out .. lol
thanks for your swift reply

First splits. Using mostly Jack's tune.

22.979
41.140

Tune is now.

trick tranny 200mph top speed

15 -40
16 5
10 10
1 1
1 1
BB 2/0.....huge difference in stopping power and easier to control and judge:)
LSD 15 15 15
camber 1.5 1.5
toe 0/0

T1: 22.706
T2: 40.455

3 tenths lower at the line. I do think I can do a .5xx to T1, did a very low .6xx braking way to early once for the chicane.

Now I plan on focusing mainly on T2 tuning. Doing a 39 thru there is my goal...at the moment it feels way out of reach. My current T2 is my PB.

I believe the OCD has now changed, so anyone who hasn't bought the car yet won't be able to do this now. 👎 unless there lucky enough to have it in there UCD.

We can gift it if necessairy.
Back up save data before doing that.

Oh yeah, I should of thought of that since I do it quite a lot :dopey:

And didn't know that viper, at least those without online can get it if need's be 👍

Back on the horse... I feel like I'm regressing.

Edit:

Getting better.

Nevermind, stupid post by a stupid person :guilty:

FYI - OCD has been updated and this car is no longer available there!

Managed to get one the other day when I was on so Ill join the fun soon :-D

Edit: Didn't see post above, sorry!

2nd try at this, using Chris' tune now. 👍 Using his gears, I started going much faster by never going down to 2nd gear, except in the first chicane :)

22.816
39.982

Feels like a couple tenths left to get.

Very interesting Jack - will give that a try

I was using BB 0/0 before Jon but when I changed to 2/0 not only did I get better stopping power but my slides/drifts(slight, blue tire, fast) when trail braking were more manageble. Not sure the settings are ideal and plan on experimenting right now in fact with my brakes again since I have changed alot of things since finding 2/0. I never have been one to use ABS other than 1 but might play with it also.

T1: 22.617
T2: 40.373

same tune as in previous post except:
Active Steering Strong
Switched dampers to
10 1
1 10

started practise with manual gear (all new to me) but i can already see how it benefits you're driving...

T1: 23.058
T2: 41.635

loving this combo !!!

Thanks Jack - I'm surprised you managed to stop the thing with 0/0!!

Nice splits Lucas - better get my finger out :sly:

I have been avoiding all the GREEN stuff and keeping 2 wheels on tarmac or rumbles but I just looked at the photos of whats green on week 18 and some of it is black and tarmac!!!

If anyone one is like me and hasnt looked at those pics from week 18...well you should and thats why I bother mentioning it.:)

Edit: wait Im confused after re reading this weeks OP. Is the tarmac outside of the white line on the exit of Ascari (the chicane at the beginning of T3) track or not?

I dont see why it shouldn't since the game would not make your laptime red stepping there, the black part outside of the white line is off track so you should be with two wheels in when crossing over these.

Would one of you aliens be willing to share a T1 replay? I just can't seem to figure out why I can't brake any later into turn 1 and hold it in.

it's not about braking late, it's about maintaining corner speed. I brake somewhere between the two overhead cables and ease it to the inside and try not to drop too much below 235kmh. Then just plant your foot and hope you don't fall off the track on the other side! I'm not D1 though, so a lot of my technique is based on more luck than judgement!!

@Jack - not, so you need to keep your left hand wheels on the line or to the left of the line (on the track) as you face the last corner. Having three or four wheels to the right of the line is illegal.

I have a newbee question. looking at the Vehicle specific I am not sure: Is the ABS OK or should it be at off?

Vehicle Specifics:

Power: 466 HP (Stock Car with Oil Change) - This number may go up with Engine Break In. Max Power is fine.
Weight - 1330 kg (Use of Ballast and Ballast Adjustment is Optional)

Engine, Intake, Exhaust Modifications : All Allowed

Engine Power Limiter : N/A
Turbo or Supercharger : Not Allowed. Turbo is verifiable by checking for the turbo meter on the HUD.

Oil Change : Required
Skid Recovery Force Aid: OFF (Those Found using this Aid will be DQ'd) - Be Careful - The Setting for This Aid is Whatever You Used Last - Be sure it's set to 'Off'
Other Aids (Traction Control, Active Steering, and ASM): Optional
Transmission: Any

Aero: N/A

Tire Type: Sports Hard (S1's)
Chassis Reinforcement: Optional

In Event Tuning Settings: Optional - NOTE: Any tuning gimmicks that offer an unfair advantage are not allowed. These would be things like the Subaru Toe Bug found on GT5 Prologue.
Tire Wear and Fuel Depletion (New for Spec II): OFF - Your Replay must show a full fuel tank and unworn tires.

Im not an alien but I can tell you how I do it kinda. The first trick I found was that it seems to be best to just let off the gas early and coast in toward the apex for a bit. Then slightly and gently trail brake to reduce speed and get the nose of the car pointed toward the inside, downshift and nail the trottle. Hopefully you time it so you go WOT at about 140? mph. Then just pull thru nice and smooth and go slightly toward the outside.

If you think your going to just barely go off the outside of the track, (you have plenty of time to judge) just let off the gas slightly and quickly and hit it again. You wont go off and you wont really even slow down. You will just take a tighter line. I have started doing it at the apex and getting on the gas sooner, higher mid corner speed.:)
