With the walls being my biggest challenge can someone who has a good grip on this event tell me, has everyone elected to not use their ABS at all and this event can only be done quickly by going to "0" w/ that setting?

I'm using ABS 1, 3/9 brake balance F/R, and 40/60 drive splits F/R... welcome to the asylum Lefty 👍

By answering your question I suppose that indicates I think I have a good grip on this event, which I don't... I just like answering questions :P

I use DS3 with ABS on 2 and everything else is off. No tweaks to any brake balance or other fancy settings (Don't know how)

I switched to 2 from 1 because I appeared to be endlessly lighting up the tyres when trying to brake then turn. It appears to have made a slight difference, but then you never know if it's a total placebo and I've just learned how to drive the track smoothly.

With 0 ABS you'll just hit more walls, I'd have thought ;)

T1: 27.644
T2: 44.256

I just tried Kenny's 50/50 torque setting and got .9 off my last time. My first sector was slower by .2 but the second sector was faster by .5. Also, this was run on my old DFP setup at chuks as opposed to yesterdays attempt with the new G27. I don't know why I improved that much. I double checked settings and watched the replay and it's clean. I never gain that much on the second lap into a session.

Chicane at the end of the tunnel is where T2 is won and lost. Such a small margin of error in that paricular part of the course but you have to attack it hard to get a decent result. I usually only get it right 1 in maybe 10 runs.

And I'm so excited when I get it right I just want to jump up and shout how great I am, but then I usually end up hitting a wall and settle in for another set of laps :sly:

Hey on another note I keep hearing about different settings, is this only available to those using a wheel? The only setting I can find is the ABS...

Hey guys can someone clear something up for me here? All this talk of 50/50 torque splits, the only way I've been able to access torque split settings is by using a car from my ''Favourites''

I was under the impression the car we should be using was..........

# Car Type: Arcade Only > Premium

You cant access the cars torque settings if you're using the Arcade version of the car. Or is there something I'm missing?

Can someone please clear this up for me before I waste any more of my time in the wrong or rite car :)

Thanks

You can access the torque split, among a few other settings through the RA functions. Check the controller settings and route them through your controller.

Another thing, once more, please make sure that you are running without Skid Recovery Force on people 👍

Im currently running 50/50 Torque split but have brake bias forwards 7/3 to stop the back end sliding out under braking. Stops me from hitting the inner wall in the swimming pool chicane.

Ahh, I forgot about those. The big red dial on my wheel should of gave it away. :) Thanks for clearing that up chaps.

First session with this, and what a thoroughly enjoyable combo it is...I'm loving it 👍

T1: 27.402
T2: 44.599

Not too happy with my T1, still a couple of tenths in there, but reasonably pleased with my first run this week!

:scared:

T1: 27.970
T1: 45.243

i've done better T1 times but can't put it all together

W T F........ there is some work around that isn't in the Rules for the Race? I hate to sound like such a detatched psyco but this combo has just got me pullin my hair out and now I'm reading about a work around.

Can someone please tell me how the RA deal works?

RA - Real-time Adjustment = a small menu that can be opened during a race/practice session to adjust a limited number if settings such as ABS, TCS, Torque Split (4WD), Brake Balance. If you have a DFGT, the dial on the wheel is preset to operate RA functions. If you have a DS3 or another type of wheel other than DFGT, you have to go to the options menu and assign buttons to operate the RA functions - one to open the RA menu, 2 to scroll the menu and 2 to adjust the settings +/- :)

RA adjustment won't stop you pulling your hair out at this combo thought Lefty :sly:

It us in the rules of the race. It's just called in event tuning settings, rather than RA menu settings :)

Kevin, may be an idea to clear this up so there's no more crossed wires :) 👍

What's beyond me how some people few pages back were seemingly talking about changing those RA settings mid-lap, with different torque settings for different parts of the track.

I have a DFGT wheel and I have never tried to use the real time adjustability and didn't think we were able to disrupt the pure stock factory setups. So because I have one and someone else doesn't and adjusted their balance using a method that can't be accesed by normal means is OK now?

It's kind of like the lawn mowing in the Academy quali, and as Austin Powers said:

"Ya don't kick a chap in the pills luv, it's just not Cricket"......lol

The settings can be changed on the fly. The DFGT wheel makes this easier than it would be with a controller. But I've never really seen anyone leverage that in a big way, even going back to 107 weeks of Prologue WRS, at least 60 of which would have been run in arcade mode.

I'm not really sure that I have anything to clear up here.

This is our 4th arcade mode race, and for 3 of the races in particular, people have been talking about making the adjustments.

That's the whole point of the discussions in the thread.

I already make it apparent that it's allowed in the first post. And this really isn't that much different than the gearing settings that could be made in GT4 arcade mode races.

People are not significantly faster due to these settings alone. Just like any settings, they allow you to choose what suits your driving style.

I have a DFGT wheel and I have never tried to use the real time adjustability and didn't think we were able to disrupt the pure stock factory setups. So because I have one and someone else doesn't and adjusted their balance using a method that can't be accesed by normal means is OK now?

Can you clarify what you mean here? Are you suggesting the rule provides an advantage to people who have a DFGT? The settings changes are available to anyone who has a DS3 controller and wants to take the time to map it.

To say it a different way - If I decided that we were not going to allow the adjustments, how would you suggest I monitor whether or not someone made them?

You're welcome Lefty 👍

I'm finally getting a rhthym in T2... feels much less desperate  Lost 0.1 in T1 but gained 0.4 in T2... yay! :P

T1: 27.133
T2: 43.818

Looks a little brighter now :)

No complaints here :) it's all good. I just didn't know that the mod or adjustables that are available to the creative and/or the fortunate like my self. I just thought that it was out of bounds. It's the IROC equal feeling that I get in the WRS that caught me off guard and I thought I was hip to the little things. I'm sure that it's common knowledge to everyone except me and anyone else who hadn’t thought about it. If there isn't a way to know that an adjustment has taken place and it's acceptable then "I'm IN"..... lol

You're welcome Lefty 👍
Did I miss something? ........ lol

I am not expecting to finish all that high on this time trial as it really could not have been a worse track for me, don't get me wrong I love the track and car combo but sector 2 is really starting to show where I am at a disadvantage as i only drive using the one hand which makes the hairpins and tight turns hard to get around fast. It does not mean I won't try to compete but if anyone else drives like I do they will know exactly what I am talking about.

thanks for posting the vid Red, nice run

It's that bit in red at the bottom and I cannot recal a wrs in gt5p or gt5 where it was ever forbidin 👍

Personally, I don't think you do either

All I was saying is that in the game, and in the posts, it is referred to as the RA menu/settings, rather than In Event settings. I see why you call it In Event, As you change them "in the event".

I just feel that maybe some people are missing out or getting a little confused on these settings because they are not aware of the existence. I've only found out about them since participating in the WRS and researching through the forums.

I hope you see what I mean and that I haven't caused any offence 👍

For some reason I am still getting the same message and can't submit any times, the message I receive is submission rejected as deadline has past anyone else having this issue.

If one cares to read just a few pages back - there are explicit descriptions of how to set-up RA adjustment for non-DFGT users. Sadly what seemed to work for G25 did not work for me, so I had to re-map the controller.
