21.822 is a typo I think, unless you drove across the water and skipped turn 1 ;)

Pretty happy with T1 but there is more to come off T2, hopefully.

T1: 27.328
T2: 44.971

So you guys know what the back of the pack looks like:
T1: 28.447
T2: 47.871

You might say: "Why even bother?" but I am having a great time learning from you guys. I can't put much more than a few hours a week into GT5 but it is nice having a goal and then running the same course for several hours to really learn it. Well - learn it as best I can, anyway. Cheers!

Chris

You're welcome Lefty 👍

I'm finally getting a rhthym in T2... feels much less desperate  Lost 0.1 in T1 but gained 0.4 in T2... yay! :P

T1: 27.133
T2: 43.818

Looks a little brighter now :)

Finally i can stop listening to you whinge like a b**** Chris.......:sly: You'll get me this week, just watch.

You might say: "Why even bother?"

Nobody here would say that Chris (my name also by the way mate 👍) and if they did they'd probably be lynched :sly: We're all here with a common addiction... and improving your technique and getting faster is what the WRS is really all about. Someone has to be last but that's not to say that's where you will stay and there are plenty of friendly folks here who will help you improve your technique. :)

Hey there Steve. 👍 That might be a little premature mate... I may get you but you'll still have to listen to me whinge about something, hehe :dopey:

Has anybody got any tips on the very first corner? It either makes or breaks my entire lap! And when I hit a good one, I can never seem to replicate it :(

What gear are you using? Brake, turn in, accelerate pointers? Speed through the apex?

Thanks in advance to all you lovely people!!!!

Munch, i brake at the pedestrian crossing just before Saint Devote (Turn 1) and as i lift off the brake i try and get the car unsettled a bit in the rear to try and grab the rumble strip on the left.... it's a 3rd gear corner for me. You need to run out to the barriers as much as possible to maximize exit speed.

I would say it's a typo too, but he posted it to the leaderboards so????? Would love to see that replay!

I'd love to see him remove the time..... it's messing the leaderboards up!

Anything under a 26.85 (unless your name is GTP_JoshMuggo) to T1 i suspect is impossible. I've seen a 26.893 once... on averge i'm sitting around the 27.080-27.100 mark.

Best T1 I've had by .020 and best T2 I *think* by a whopping .002 :D

This is almost me done. I won't be able to top this by very much if at all and it's the cleanest fast lap I've had.

Munch - Turn 1, stay left, close to barrier as you dare - quick flick down 2 gears (5th to 3rd) - turn in, try to touch about an inch of the rumble strip and floor it running wide to the barrier. Brake at the level crossing thing and turn in at the point the barrier on the left disappears - watch a replay to see where these two points are, difficult to spot. After that - I run straight up the hill in almost a dead straight line and I brake just OVER the crest and use a double apex, to get more exit speed rather than staying tight, this means you are further left to the right hander and can carry more speed down the hill. I've hit 27.0xx 4 times now by doing this.

From that point on I can't comment cos I'm losing quite a lot of ground, despite going as aggressive as I can. T2 is a lot more technical and a bit more of a struggle.

Not much more in this lap now for me, hope it's enough to run Chuk close after he's done hotlapping ;)

Dang, I make a torq move and T1 time gained and T2 loss....torq move and T2 gain and T1 loss. But when T2 is better, T3 is as well!!! :indiff:

Back to the track! :banghead:

T1: 28.343
T2: 46.398

Did I really just do this combo for 3.5 hours straight? Submitting and done for the week.

27.458
44.862

Edit: Or not submitted..? Will we have to re-submit times after the FetchBot is working, or will our times be okay? And Munch, you should probably stop for the week, while I still have hope that your T3 is bad. :)

Had better first splits, starting to find more time in sector 2, hopefully it will let me submit a time this time as I have had nothing but problems submitting them

What's beyond me how some people few pages back were seemingly talking about changing those RA settings mid-lap, with different torque settings for different parts of the track.

Yes I was changing the setting on the straights (casino and tunnel or start/finish).
After selecting the setting you want to change (tcs, torque, abs, etc.), the next time you push the red button the same setting is available to change.
I changed the setting from one extreme to the other by turning the red wheel with my thumb.
It's only a quick change and sometimes it would end up somewhere in between the extremes.

I have since changed to and stayed with 50/50.
I have changed the controller sensitivity to 5.

After another couple of hours since the last update.
27.271
44.381

Yeah that turn 1, you need to carry momentum up the hill.
Try not to brake too hard or too late for it as both will kill all speed.
millross hit the corner description pretty well I think.

I stay in the middle of the track coming across the finish line after staying to the right when coming out of the last corner.
I was going far left from the last corner across the finish line and the entry up the hill seems restricted from that angle.
I use the shadow line across the track as a braking point.

I can't believe this what does it take to submit a time to the leaderboards without being rejected. I must of had at least 10 rejections now and I am getting frustrated with it, same old message every time "submission rejected as deadline has passed" :grumpy:

You don't need to submit your times to the leaderboard - Fetchbot collects your splits from your post. You only need to submit your final lap-time when you're satisfied with it. Is that why you're having trouble or are you actually trying to submit a final laptime?

T1: 27.052
Damned good mate 👍

Thanks for the reply, it has updated now due to my last post, I did not realize the times were taken from the thread thanks for your help.

Wow leader boards are messed up or GTP_grevling is 4 seconds faster then our current aliens.

He had a typo in his post and put a 21.XXX for T1!

Read this as....
I bloody hope he had a typo in his post because else we are all doomed!!!!

Well, it probably will be. My t3 is terrible, but that t2 is about as fast as I'll get. I can go back and forth a tenth or two, but my total time won't change much.
The week is still young, though. :sly:

I am getting faster

26.949
44.251

I can see a fair bit more time in sector 2, loosing time by braking to late for chicane I think and not getting the exit speed
