You been smashing handicaps the last couple of rounds, you must be due for promotion

Thanks Jim, appreciate the kind words. I don't know how these promotions work, but I'm sure only a few good performances doesn't warrant a promotion, at least it shouldn't in my opinion. In my experience, in real life anyway, a promotion is something that is earned over a long period of time based on above average performance and dedication. While I will say that I certainly must have the dedication part of it down , I really don't think a few weeks of decent performances warrants a promotion. To me, that is just too easy and takes the pride out of getting a promotion. That's just yet another example of living in this "instant gratification generation," as I like to call it. Maybe I'm just too old school in my thinking here. Whatever happens though, I will be appreciative regardless. I just don't feel like I've earned anything only after a few performances. Thanks again Jimi for the kind words and support, coming from you my friend, it means a lot.

It just depents on your handicap. I think you need to go under 2.000 to get a D1B promotion. Your handicap before last week was 2.035 and you got a huge negative handicap again at Willow. So i think this could be enough to get a promotion on monday, but i'm not sure. ;)

Thanks for the explanation. 👍 Hardly deserved in my opinion only after a few performances :guilty:, but I'll be grateful nonetheless if that is indeed the case. :embarrassed:

You were already very close and you had two or three D1S worthy finishes. I'm pretty sure we'll see your name on Monday :)

Thanks Mike. 👍 It just seems hardly deserved on my part after only two events, that's all I'm saying here. If I recall correctly, back in the GT5 version of the WRS, it was a bit more of a challenge to get promoted, especially to D1. Promotions weren't handed out so readily or quite as often as they are now. It seems like every week someone is getting promoted whereas in GT5 promotions were handed out once a month if not a bit longer. I haven't went back and researched this so I could very well be wrong, but that's the way I remember it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining or saying the system is wrong or broken, it just seems that getting promoted here in GT6 seems a lot more easier therefor some of the pride, or sense of accomplishment, in achieving such goal is somewhat diminished for me as compared to what it used to be in GT5. Like I said before though, if and when it does happen, I will be appreciative of it but I just won't feel as accomplished as I would have in days gone past. It just seems that the system is a bit more lenient than it once was, that's all.

Don't worry it will be very slow climb from 1.999 to 1.667, you will get your sense of achievement then :)

Right on Mike. 👍 Sounds like you have way more knowledge of how this works from a numbers stand point than I do so I'll take your word for it.

You lost me at the first [

Multiply your current handicap by 4, then add the r value from the results thread.

Divide that total by 5

So if your current handicap is 2.034, and your r value from last week is 1.480

(2.034 x 4) + 1.480 = 8.136 + 1.480 = 9.616

9.616 / 5 = 1.923

That should be your new handicap once results are official - Monday

Thanks Jimi, that simplifies things a bit. 👍 Think I got a bit more of an understanding of it all now. Appreciate it.

And looking at your results, apart from week 1, in GT6 WRS TT's, you haven't finished lower than 8th in division 2.
Also, no lower than 15th overall. I don't think you would be out of place dressed in blue.

If you do go up, I hope to join you at some point in the future.

I'm sure you will. 👍 Actually, I'm surprised you're not there already.
