Thanks for the welcomes ang congratulations gent's:tup::cheers: I feel the preassure, but I'll just have to adopt to the new situation as tail keeper in D2. To all fellow WRS' s through all divisions I just want to say that I'm proud and honoured to take part in such a fine community:gtpflag:

Check this week's results: That job is already taken my friend :D
Welcome to D2!

A special mention to the newest member of the 'Blues Brothers'.

Well Done Mitch  on your D1 status.

Congrats to @schmues_hh ,@luv2drive and @The Boss69 - Welcome to Division 2 👍

Thanks! Hard to believe I've actually made some improvement. Now the challenge really begins.

I also want to give props to Mitch (@GTP_CargoRatt) for his dedication in getting to D1. I can't imagine ever getting to be that fast, but the fact that you've done it gives the rest of us hope. Well done!

Also congrats to the other guys, @schmues_hh and @The Boss69 - look forward to competing with you in D2.

I also forgot to mention earlier, I owe a big thanks to Lucas (@Gravitron) for my improvement and the fact that I was able to move out of D3. He's been a source of constant help, advice, and encouragement since I joined WRS!

Thanks Lucas!

Amen to that! And I'll be right there with you bringing up the rear in D2 for a while I'm sure. But hopefully over time, little by little, I'll find a way to get a little faster.

It's not too long ago when I jumped from D3 to D2. I was worried about losing motivation when going from fighting for podiums to trying not to finish last. But it was very easy to stay focused. All my close competitors were getting promoted too so we kept our rivalries and slowly moved up through the rankings.

Yes, this might look like fierce competition but you would be surprised how many fast guys like to help someone to improve. Sharing final sector times is not allowed in the combo threads but a lot of guys cooperate through private messages and outside of GTP. It's great way to learn when you have someone faster than you telling you what speeds are reachable in turns, what final sector times are possible, sharing tuning tips and driving techiques.

Welcome to D2 (time to change your signatures :))

I think the same!

First I was not sure if it's o.k. to climb up to D2 at this moment because of my limited skills. But now I see the chance to improve my skills little by little. So I am looking forward to the competitions with you former D3 guys :).

I have made the same experience and I was very surprised by the helpfulness here in the forum (thanks again for the great help @mr_lab_rat :)). Especially the sharing of times of the last sector was the basis for improvements.

I was worried about the same thing, but you're absolutely right. Take it in stride and keep focusing on improving.

I know it's been said many times, but I really do appreciate the community spirit here on GTPlanet and in the WRS in particular. Not being a gamer, GT was the first video game I had played since I was a kid. I would have never imagined there was such a cool online community with a bunch of crazy middle-aged guys like me out there willing to spend hours driving a virtual car around a virtual track and having a blast doing it.

Anyway, thanks @mr_lab_rat. I'm glad you and so many others are willing to help... I'm definitely going to need it! :)

And to @schmues_hh, your "limited skills" seem pretty good from where I sit. I've been watching you leapfrog me on the Leaderboard for the past few weeks, so either neither one of us is ready for D2 or we both are... I'm going with the latter. D2 here we come!

@GTP_CargoRatt Congrats Mitch. A promotion so well deserved. You have persevered in this game for so long, it is really truly a great thing to see you make Division 1. Again a big congratulations to a well deserving fellow.

Thanks guys for all the "congrats" and other kind words, much appreciated. 👍 Only two more steps to go then my goal will be realized. Its been a long, long road to this point, starting at D4 Bronze in GT5 to D1 Bronze here in GT6. I couldn't have done it without the help of the great members of the WRS Community.

On another, rather sad note, I entered the hospital the night of 2/5 (just got released today, 2/9) with a bad headache, slurred speech, and loss of muscle movement on my left side. Turns out I had a mild stroke. My speech is still somewhat slurred and I still don't have full muscle movement on my left side. Doc says things are as good as they'll get so I'm gonna have to find a way around it and still be able to drive. I can right foot brake but the real problem is going to be paddle shifting with the left hand. It still works, just not as good as it used to so we'll see how it goes. I've played through worse, so I'll be damned if this is going to slow me down. Going to take this week off and rest, but you can bet your Grandma's walker I'll be back next week. Thanks again for all the kind words, they are all very much appreciated.

Tough luck Mitch. A good buddy of mine had a mild stroke a short while ago and today you'd never know it. Hang in there and you'll be back on track in no time.

Huge congratulations to Mitch for entering D1 Bronze! Also I hope you have a speedy recovery!

Congrats everyone!
Take it easy Mitch, get some rest, there's no hurry to come back 👍

I am a bit rubbish with words, so if it is okay with you guys, I would like to borrow your words.

And well done on Div 1 promotion, Mitch.
