Some highlights of the feature race.
Now the official picture for this event official details results post! 👍
We need some help from a couple rookies. The admins are "handcuffed" as far as using the replay since we are not actually in the race. There are no markers on a replay if you are just observing so no way to fast forward or reverse. That makes it nearly impossible to review the replay if there are incidents, capture moments to video or photos, etc.
Could we get one NTSC rookie and one PAL rookie each week to save the feature race replay, export it and then upload it to a file sharing site where the admins can access it? If you've ever uploaded a replay for the time trial verification it works basically the same way only these replays are too large to attach to a post here at GTP so you'll have to upload it to a free file sharing site. (Google Drive for example).
If any rookie saved yesterday's replay I'd like to have access to it and we'd like volunteers for future events.
Thanks.
I will save replays from next week on, can not help you on this one.
OK, so we have PAL covered starting next week, but still need an NTSC driver which would be someone from canada or US.
As I wrote on GT5, I had been taking some notes during the feature race of some of the rookies. I followed each for more than a lap. The following may be based on that particular lap, but can be constructive in improving more. In random order:
[*]GTP_Crozzlow: I noticed you were struggling with oversteer. It's not a bad thing to encounter, because you will learn how to catch it. But in race situations, smooth is fast. That is why you could work on throttle control. At the moment it seems more like an on/off switch (or are you on controller?). Stepping on the gas all at once can really disturb the balance of the car. Once you exceed rear grip, the car will immediatly step out on you and will be hard to catch. Try feeding it in, let it have some time to settle in when going from 0 to 100% pedal position.
Thanks for the critique! I do use a DS3. It is a little tricky trying to feather the throttle and I definitely need to work on it. I want to make sure I am accelerating out of corners and I am probably starting to early....If there are any other DS3 users (I know there are many faster than me) who could give me some tips, I am all ears!
I will be at Fuji next Saturday and look forward to it. Have a good week!!

GTP_Argon uses the DS3 and he's in D2. So why not ask him for some tips if he has the spare time. Or there's GTP_b00gee60 who also uses the DS3, and is pretty fast for his Division placement. Both are in the Fuji TT leaderboard and both participated in the TM TT as well - they may offer some tips to help you. But one thing that is probably most important if you haven't already done so is to not use X and square for brake and throttle. There's the L2 and R2 buttons or the right analogue stick which will give you greater progression on throttle and brake, but depends on which you feel most comfortable with. X can kind of be an on/off switch if you're to heavy fingered, but the trigger buttons have a lot more give and can help you be more progressive on the throttle and have less than 100% all the time. But I think someone already mentioned that above.
Maybe I will make the jump to wheel before GT6...and if so, just one question....How to convince the wife to allow me to build a set up in the TV room? Is there a thread on GTP that discusses ways to convince significant other to be ok with that? ....💡
it's better to beg for forgiveness then ask for permission
Too late. Back to work. Hopefully good tomorrow.
Some highlights of the feature race.

I have to play in the livingroom as well and so I've build myself a foldable rig. I race sitting in the couch. Wheel and rig are to be set up and moved away each time.
I'll give you some links when I get home as it's not really possible to do on the phone now.
Have to appolagize to you, during the academy after the second race I was convinced someone knocked me out from behind.... After watching the replay I could only conclude It was me who did the first mistake, I tapped you causing you to go into the wall, on the rebound from the wall you took me out....but I have caused this incident myself...
Sorry if I drew my conclusion to early, hope to race you again next week 👍
I'm not sure, if I get what you're saying Tim, as only the last one, of the three, makes sense to me .
However, I know that it won't "impact" me, so I'm okay with what you guys decide 👍.
Daylight Savings Time is approaching.
