I must say, these wise words are correct. I feel really ashamed over the way I drove yesterday. That, is also my reason for apologizing. I believe everybody wants to improve, during the D-races - that's why it's been made. And, we're all humans, so mistakes will happen, and we'll learn from them. I know this time, I was the guilty part and I truely understand the anger pointed at me. I'm not trying to defend my driving, but I know, I'm not the most routined driver, and that I'm at big risk for making accidents (because of my lack of experience - maybe my age too). For me learning close racing been long time and many races. It's not comes easy. You make many mistakes, miscalculations, and so on. Most mistakes comes when you are not patient enough, your feelings get over you from something and you start driving aggressive and more mistakes comes...this i learned hard way many times. You spoil your race and often other too. Afterward you ashamed yourself.
I think this'll be a good idea. I'm sure (I and) we'll learn something from that. Maybe it should be incorporated before the races? My tip is maybe we can do normal quali and then we race whole race so that no passing and try to be as close as possible together. Maybe event start little slower and after couple laps we start get more speed lap by lap but still stay close together.
Ok, I'm not going anywhere. I had a talk with Ali and Dean and things are cool. I was quite upset when I wrote that last note and I hadn't taken time to cool off and think things over.
Peace,
Sark
Awesome!!!!!
Listening to some of the post after last weeks race we like to introduce a test race 15 min before the Qualification of the main race.
Just a 4 lapper race with gridstart with guys already on the track practising.
No real competition race just a moment to feel how the car reacts with other racers close around you.
It may give some racers a indication what to expect in the real race.
If it works out ok,we can give it a place in the time schedule.
Ferrari F40 '92 (Premium Car dealer; break it in and change oil prior to race)
i always like to ask, what does it mean "break it"? (rookie question time)
Tim, Sjaak, Al, Speedy, and Frank đź‘Ťđź‘Ťđź‘Ťđź‘Ťđź‘ŤHey everyone,
I know I have not been there last races, as I am to busy in RL. It is true what Gayle said, I had promised some pictures of the Spa race, and I still got them but my PC at home has crashed(and I have not got a new one/do not even know if i will buy one).
When I get the chance to load them up, i certainly will.
As for the D-league ; remeber guys we do this for fun, and to help out to get better in online racing. Everything what the admins do (Tim, Sjaak, Al, Speedy) is in there free time, and believe me organising and sheduling everything takes time.... (example : on easter monday both Sjaak and Tim had a 'google' meeting to discuss how to proceed and addapt the academy....)
About the races itself, last weeks combo was hard on overtaking.... next week on the otherhand will get us cleaner racing.... but as always, try to come prepaired....
I hope to be there next Saturday, and offcourse I hope to all see ya back.
I'm looking for some place to get coaching to bring me to the next level in GT5. Currently I do ok in the league I race in (SNAIL) and win my fair share of races but whenever it comes to time trials somehow I'm seconds off the pace of the fast guys. My frustration is I feel like I'm doing the same things as the fast guys but somehow I'm just slower. I have a GTP PSN account also so if this is the right place to find such instruction I'll sign up and give it a go. If not if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be appreciated.
WRP001You're D2-Silver so not exactly the target audience of the Academy which is designed for D3-Silver to D5. We're not focused on Time Trials either... purely online racing skills: consistency, passing properly and safely, contact avoidance, proper lines, adjusting braking points and technique in traffic, etc... not trying to drag every last tenth from the lap at all costs as you would do in a TT, but rather factoring in risk and consistency when deciding on a proper racing line/approach.
Your best bet, if you are focused on getting to the next level in time trials, would be to take part in the WRS Time Trial competitions and ask questions in those threads. Review submitted ghost replays, etc. The guys in those competitions are always willing to help, give advice, talk technique, even show sector videos. Then after running the TT you can join us for online racing on Wednesday to translate those skills online and add tire mgmt, pit strategy, consistency to the mix. The combination of heavy TT training followed by online racing using the same combo is a very good one for improving.
I might not be able to go for the 6pm GMT session but I'll defo be there for the 7pm GMT racing
