Where's the registration button gone cause on my phone I can't see it

Added a "register here" text link under the button image which should be visible to you. Please confirm.

If anyone is around, I'm hopping into the main lounge to run some laps. Maybe about 40 minutes or so.

I might give this a try on Sunday. I'm a fan of cars in stock condition, so I'll use the one closest to the target time, which in my test session was the Ferrari 512BB on the prime tyre. It wasn't fully run in yet and I'll probably get a little bit faster, so I might have to slightly restrict it in the end (also I think I already reached 210km/h), but it's pretty close to the target time to begin with.

The RUF BTR would have been the other candidate judging from the time, but this car tries to kill me every chance it gets, so I'd rather not use it. :scared:

3D3Racing lounge is open.:)

Time for some needed practice for me.

There is a big chance for some practice time on Friday, also 19:00 GMT.

I like to try some more cars for the Sunday race.

Going to open the 3D3Racing lounge around 19:00 GMT.

Yesterday fine tuned my car and had a small test race with Daniël,Majed and Dano.

I can't make it as well. I'm having some drinks with my mates.

If anyone wants to run some laps later after 23 :00 GMT, let me know. The scheduled practice times were duing work for me.

I'm on my phone so I can't check the converter, is that around 8 eastern? I could probably be on some time around 9 eastern. Maybe a bit earlier, depending on how bedtime goes.

I'll be on in about 5 or 10 minutes. A bit later than I anticipated, but that's how things go. (This was yesterday... forgot to say I was finished)

I changed to mediums as I was too fast () with softs. My best lap is about a 36.8 or so. I'll probably run closer to 37.5-37.9.

Main 3D3Racinge lounge is open.:)

First race is in 1 hour and 15 minutes.

In practice I had a tow on all the straights and ran a 36.1. Will the tow make that much difference, or should I back off the power?

Great fun again, guys 👍
Thanks to everybody for coming out tonight and to Sjaak for organizing.
See you tomorrow on track.

Some pictures from the last race on Saturday, lots of fun and good close racing.

That was incredibly fun! It was great being competitive in a WRS race!

Race 1 went pretty well. I was getting used to the traffic. Patrick and I had a good battle. I made it by, but he got me back just a few corners from the end.

Race 2 was a bit of a disaster that ended surprisingly well. I started second, and was able to make it into first. Going into the corkscrew on the first lap, I didn’t brake early enough and went off. After recovering I was following a group of 3-4 and got an amazing tow, and while I hit the brakes early, I didn’t get on them early enough and went spinning across the track. This was frustrating, and I got back on track about 10 seconds behind. Between my frustration and a desire to catch up, I put down some really good laps and got to about 5 seconds behind. Coming out of the last corner on the final lap, I saw three cars in various states of sideways-ness. I avoided the carnage and went from 5th to 2nd. Not a deserved place, but it did put me in the back for race 3.

Race 3, I lowered my power a bit after race 2 (I did a 36 flat as I was catching back up. Some of that was due to the draft, but I didn’t want to have an unfair advantage as I seemed to continue to improve). It was a solid race for me, as I moved up from the back to finish second again. After Majed and Ren went off, I was chasing Patrick and Wouter with Sjaak hot on my tail. As Sjaak tried to pass around the outside of turn 9 on lap 3 I thought I hit him, so I slowed down to let him go. He said all was clean, I got back up to speed, but lost my rhythm and spun in the final turn. By the beginning of lap six I caught up again and got past Wouter in turns 2 and 3. Just as I was pulling ahead, Patrick spun out and Sjaak slowed up. I thought Sjaak hit him, so I kept on, but the replay looks like he was just waiting so they could carry on their battle (I could be wrong about that, though). From then I took it easy and coasted home with Daniel 10 seconds ahead.

Race 4 was pretty much just trying to catch Patrick while Daniel tried to pass me. It seemed that whenever I got close enough to get a run on Patrick, he would start to pull away and Daniel would catch up. Eventualy, Daniel got by and I couldn’t improve past 5th.

All 4 races were amazing fun. I can’t wait for the next one. Tight, clean, wheel to wheel racing with guys who I wouldn’t normally see after 3 corners on the Wednesday races. Thanks for putting it together Sjaak 👍, and thanks to everyone who came out to play .

Changed my status to reserved. I thought it was Saturday's race that was at 11am... :dunce:

Thanks for the racing last night, great fun.👍

This afternoon looks like we have a small grid so I hope the pictures from Patrick and me inspire to come over and have some fun sprint races.:)

Great photos and a really nice report from gman! Looking forward to this afternoon :)

While you guys finish up today, here are a few more photos from yesterday:

Trying to pass Wouter with Sjaak not far ahead.

Just finishing my pass as Patrick gets sideways in front of Sjaak.

I really enjoyed this car. It was great fun to drive.

Will there be any more of these?

There's the World Cup on the 10th,then the next event is F1 I think. Is that the 24th? Maybe we could do one on the 17th? If a steward can't set up a new combo maybe we could redo an old combo? I'd be in for doing something (I think I'd be free anyway).

Cool.

Is the goal to get a lap at the target time to win (or closest to it), or is it just like a normal race but with cars that can only achieve up to the target time?

Parity Formula (courtesy of DeadNutsEven Racing)

We'll publish a track, target time, max speed and tire compounds. The current specs:

  • Track: Brands Hatch Indianapolis
  • Target Time: 53 sec
  • Max Speed: 205 kph / 127 mph (your speed should not exceed this at the end of the longest straight*, and you should not hit the rev-limiter)
  • Tire: Comfort soft/ Sports Hard (Use a softer compound if you cannot obtain the target time without going over the max speed)
  • Car Choice: Any car in your garage

Your job is to choose any car in the game (that meets the event car choice criteria) and set it up any way you like until you can just reach, but not exceed the target time using our online specs (listed below), but be sure to run online with tire wear / fuel consumption set to off. The tire compound specified is the primary option and is a reasonable target for D2-D3 drivers. If you are having a hard time achieving the target lap time without exceeding the max speed then you can use a tire one compound softer. If you are D1 and/or alien driver you can use a tire one compound harder to achieve your result.

You can:
  • Use a car stock (but please break it in and change oil so your power is constant)
  • Use a fully tuned car (any parts as long as you meet the requirements)
  • Use ballast or power limiter to fine tune your achievable times
  • Use a clutch and any shifter (as long as you use it when you set your times)
  • Use any view (cockpit, etc. as long as you use it to set your times and as long as you can drive safely and maintain situation awareness)
  • Use ABS (or not) -- as long as you use the same settings to achieve the target time
You will have to put some practice time in to get consistent with the car/track and fine tune your setup as you improve and approach the target time. We may even organize a few of these session prior to the event, but for now just post to this thread if you want to use the lounge are going for practice and invite others to join. If you don't prepare enough and are still on a steep part of your learning curve when you show up for the event you are likely to improve significantly during the race and create an imbalance. We will have some procedures to correct that during an event, but the more prepared you are the better the racing will be for everyone.

Feel free to use this thread to discuss the best approach to converging on the best specs for you. Choose a car that you can be consistent with. If you have trouble with consistency choose an easier handling car or opt for the softer compound. The idea is for everyone to have a shot at a win and be able to negotiate traffic safely.

Once you have a car and spec picked you can sign up for the event and use the registration form in the 3rd post. You'll be asked some details about the car and specs. You can update your specs at any time by filling out the registration form again. If you are interested and want to save your car choice for later just put in TBD in the fields. This will help us get an advanced measure of interest for any event.

  • You are expected to drive clean at all times as if you are racing in the WRS. All participants are required to follow the GTPlanet Online Racing Rules & Guidelines.
  • 3D3 Race Stewards (who are taking part in race, but will review the replay) reserve the right to kick out or invalidate the result of any driver from the Race Room for driving offensively. If you ignore any warnings from the stewards and are kicked out of the race room, you will not be allowed to participate in future 3D3 events.
  • Contact with walls should be avoided. Wall riding/bouncing to gain time will be penalized and/or can result in disqualification.
  • Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track
  • Runoff areas are not part of the track including green painted concrete.
  • Limit your contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
  • No hybrids
  • No cheating of any kind
  • Nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules
  • Passing and Blocking: Aggressive blocking is not permitted, but the driver in front has the right to choose his/her line and braking point and drivers behind should respect that line. These events are "for fun" so just play nice and take a conservative rather than an aggressive approach when possible.

Good Luck, OLR Team:gtplanet:

Registered. Sounds like much fun!👍 I picked a Subaru (don't remember the flavor right now), but got too fast as I figured out the right line. I added 100kg of ballast and I got faster!:irked: So I switched to a slower '05 WRX. That seems to work better, but I only got a few laps in with the new one. Need more laps to know for sure.
