It will be nice if GT6 would let us set any surface water % and just keep it there for the duration of your session. Can't do it with GT5 except at 0% or 100%. Any other surface water % is only achieved through a dynamic weather setting over which you have no further control except the initial condition which may only last seconds.

That's why we always have to run time trials at 0% or 100% surface water. Here's hoping for better control in GT6.

Bummer. But the video is still awesome. Unless of course you are a Porsche or Mustang fan!

The video is awesome... (driver almost lost it at 4:40 and 6:23 in the lap :scared:)

We'd absolutely destroy that time though... the driver doesn't even use the curbs and we run our two inside tires on many curbs. Would be fun to do an event on the track where you can't put a wheel on the grass and at most two on the curb.

Yea, I think it has something to do with the fact that we can hit reset and he has to hit the garage when he messes up. His repairs are a lot more expensive than ours and he can actually get seriously hurt when he messes up.

I really like the combos where we must keep all four tires on the track. It is just so much more realistic. I know there are tracks and some places where real cars will jump curbs and put a wheel or two in the grass to shave 100ths off, but all in all they tend to leave all four on the tarmac.

There ya go.

All four tyres must remain in contact with track at all times. Rumbles are part of the track.

That would mess with so many people.

You can't set the rules as you stated: "All four tyres must remain in contact with track at all times.". What are you going to do to check the inside of the tire and underneath the car as to whether it contacts the rumbles? Good luck getting a picture of that in order to verify it one way or another.

We have to live within the limits of the tools we're given. You could only set the border rules so that the entire tire must remain on the track surface [rumble, tarmac, line] so someone verifying the replay could check the picture from above/outside (NOT underneath) the car to verify there is some rumble or tarmac or line between the outside of the tire and the grass. That little change makes those rules less than realistic as well.

What always sounds simple and obvious, just isn't. We don't run the current rules just to expand the track and defy reality you know! :sly:

We tried something like that...once or twice. Marc (GTP_Hydro) conceived of a great event using the Roadster TC DLC car at Trial Mt, and to make it a little tricky for this grip monster, we had a 4 tires on track rule.
His submission was DQ'd. By his own self. :ill:

This car had clear sightlines underneath though, so not too bad to check.

Another instance was keeping 4 tires on track in the chicane at Monaco in Week 67...2 DQ's there.

I've been having small problems with my G27 regarding calibration. It sometimes becomes off-centre (apparently because of hitting walls too violently or something similar, not sure). Anyways, I was just wondering if there was a way of recalibrating shorter than exiting and restarting the game? With the DFGT, you can just unplug and plug it back in again, but that does not seem to work with the G27.

My old one would recalibrate if I unhooked it from the ps3 and hooked it back up. Other than a reboot, I'm not sure.

I'm in a dilemma. I scheduled my vacation for the 27th so could take my kids trick or treating and get everything ready for winter. I get a pretty decent bonus check on the 25th and my wife gave me the okay to spend about $600 on whatever I want. I'm kind of torn on if I should invest the money back into a g27 and obutto cockpit to have for the winter or if I should buy a kayak for fishin and camping. On one hand, I love racing, gt6 is about to come out and it'll come in handy this winter when its cold out. On the other hand, I love to fish and be outdoors. What's a guy to do

That seems to work, indeed, thanks! I don't know why I didn't think of trying that myself... :dunce:

My new toy. I always wanted a radio controlled plane or helicopter but never wanted to smash a $600 toy the first time I used it.

Bought this at the mall today and it is a blast, and seems to be quite durable. I've run it into every wall in the house several times with no ill effects. It's a 4 channel model just like the large models so it's pretty tricky to control but it's very responsive so it will be quite fun once I can keep it airborne for more than a few seconds at a time.

Is anyone else having trouble replying to threads from their phone? My cursor jumps from one line to another while I'm typing. It's especially bad if I try to quote or attach something. Maybe I just don't know how to use the new layout properly.

Using my phone to reply Baron, and aside from an awful lag when typing mine seems to be ok. 👍

Ok thanks, I don't know what's wrong, but it must be on my end. I just tried to quote your reply and it just doesn't work. I'll figure it out later I guess.

Edit: Turns out it was the browser, I went back to stock and it works fine. Too bad, I really liked the other one, but GTplanet takes priority.

I'm getting quite excited about GT6 coming out in less than a week... If all goes as planned, I should have the game on day 1. So if there aren't enough of you (meaning the stewards) to test stuff, I would gladly volunteer to help in any way I can. I should be available starting in the early evening (maybe earlier if I can quit work early!), EST.

Also, maybe it would be a good idea to try to get together online?

Thanks for the offer, Daniel. I have an idea of something you may be able to help with, running it by the other stewards now. :)

We are a bit behind where we'd hoped to be at this point; the game getting out into the wild early has certainly been both a blessing and a time-sink.

While the Miura @ Suz will be the last WRS time trial for a while, the WRS Online races will continue on-cadence in GT6, using the GT5 Registry for our participant base. 👍

Not exactly... he's trying to gain access to those that already have access to get some questions answered ahead of time... so to clear that up... kinda sorta, but not really.

I hope my wheel is going to be ok (really, it's a pedal issue)... also have to find free time to play now and that's not been easy.

Hey WRS goers!

I might join up with you guys for Gran Turismo 6. Any sort of instructions on how to register?

Please see EDK's post here.

In "a few weeks" we will publish the new GT6 WRS Qualifier, and then we'll be accepting submissions for a few weeks.
