Hey y'all. Hope everyone is doing good. Sorry I've been mia for awhile. Been super busy at work and at home. what little gaming time I have had, has been spent on Diablo, borderlands 2 and cod ghosts. Wifey bought me gt6 for Christmas so I'll be joining y'all soon. I start a new trucking job on Jan 2nd with way more home time and weekends off so I'll be able to hopefully participate more. Congrats to everyone in gt5 and here's to a successful tenure in gt6!

So then, WRS'ites, whatcha been doing in GT6?

I <3 goodwood and mount panorama. Woo those downhill sections at speed, eyeballs on stalks! Very easy to bin it.

Menus and presentation: way way better

I don't get the moon silliness and don't want to try it again after one attempt. I also hope that prize cr increases with seasonal races, when they appear....and that endurance races are brought back. Confident that they will. I also massively dislike the weird squealing tyre sound, but the driving experience and physics are <3

Fave car so far is probably that vision gt - looks so cool and that seasonal at Matterhorn is pretty awesome :-)
The Quattro on goodwood is also pretty sweet :)

I finally ordered some CSR pedals. Not the elite ones, didn't want to spend quite that much, so went for the standard ones. Should be way better than the awful cheap crap I've been using for three years :-)

Looking forward to some great action next year in WRS :-)

I always thought it was WRS'ers .

The new tracks are amazing (Apricot Hill doesn't count). I'm especially surprised by how good Matterhorn is, I thought it would be another Eiger :yuck:. Bathurst and Ascari are addictive too.

The whole driving experience is much better than GT5, and yeah I can't wait to get started on the WRS again. Them Mods be slackin'.

Also on that tire squeal: I found it irritating at first, but it's giving me great feedback on when I'm exceeding the grip available. Helps me detect understeer a lot sooner now, and I'm able to adjust quicker.

On the whole I’m loving GT6 (as I do with every new iteration regardless of how flawed they are). Since GT5 I guess I’ve learnt to reign in any initial skepticism and await the ‘final’ version once it’s released via multiple patches in the coming months. Otherwise I’ve just been working through the career mode and just started on International B last night. Probably have 7 hours or so in so far. Love all the new tracks that I’ve raced on so far, especially Bathurst and Goodwood. Only purchased one car, the Boss 302 Mustang (since I’m now a resident of Michigan, when in Rome…) and despite any preconceptions about muscle cars, it’s a nice drive in stock form and lots of fun around Bathurst…

Like you I tried the moon…once. Might go back to it one day. Disappointed with the Audi Sport Quattro S1 – just sounds all wrong. On the whole I can live with the sound issues, but that one needs correcting. LOVE the new physics. Under and oversteer seems to be modeled really well and the loss of grip feel works well. Haven’t tried to modify anything yet so haven’t played with the suspension and diff settings. I don’t mind the tire squeal, it’s just a little loud.

Overall 👍

GT6 is "totes amaze" and so far I haven't found anything that was so bad that I wished they hadn't put it in. The moon buggy was a fun diversion, pointless but totally fun and it does exactly what I think it's there for, to give you a break from hard core racing.

The tracks are amazing, the new cars and the physics are outstanding. I even like the squealing tyres, they add so much to feedback. There are a couple of dodgy engine sounds going on but overall it's really good and I can't wait for the updates that I know will add so much more to the game.

I've even ditched my beloved DS3 and am determined to come to grips with my wheel. So far I'm having a much better time with it in GT6. The wheel support for the T500RS seems to be 1000% better than in GT5 and even though I know I'm still slower than with my DS3 it's a much more rewarding, engaging and enjoyable experience

GT6 gets a huge thumbs up from me 👍

Tried the Lunar Rover and was impressed with the feeling of 1/6th gravity as I bounced across the lunar surface and did barrel rolls off crater rims.
PD says they took great pains to recreate the night sky in GT6 with correct rendering of star formations and even time of year groupings. I think they fell very short in this respect when it comes to the lunar rover simulation. The first photo is the real deal. Notice no stars! The second photo from PD has lots of stars! Boo, missed that one PD! During daylight on the moon, just as on earth, you cannot see stars! I know it may be nit picking, but they made the claim of accuracy and this is definately not accurate.
Other than that, really liking it so far (ok the tire squeal can be a bit annoying, but it is also a challenge and learning tool to try and keep it to a minimum).

Ron, I believe you are supposed to see stars from the moon even in the daytime as there is no atmosphere on the moon to disperse sunlight. The reason they don't appear on that picture might be a matter of the dynamic range of the camera, meaning they were not bright enough to be captured by it but a human eye could see them.

I like a lot of the new things and hope they will put back some of what they took away, but what stands out for me at the moment is that we're wasting a lot less time between races because the menu and loading times are much faster, and so are the oil changes!

Oil changes!!! I haven't put more than 40 miles on anything yet to warrant an oil change (or are you doing it at 0 miles to liberate more power)?

Yes, Jon, I believe that changing the oil at 0 miles will increase power, like it did in GT5. Maybe others can confirm. It also looks like we have a similar break-in distance of 200 miles/300 km, but again not 100% sure.

Not so sure. It is still daylight and no atmosphere to diffuse that dang old sun. It's pretty bright, think flash bulb, it pretty much washes anything else out of the picture and eye sight. Now if you happen to be on the dark side of the moon, hum, which one of you is Pink?..uh.. then wow! Stars everywhere.

Also, you are all too right on spot with what you say about the response time..big plus!

Sounds like some of you have some serious wheel time in already, I'm about where Jon is by the sound of it. Next on my list is to get my National B license.

I'm enjoying the physics, load times and tracks, but really need my next license so I can race some actual people, the AI just doesn't cut it. Also, I agree with Chris' post about it feeling like a beta, there's just so many little things missing.

My biggest worry is that they'll keep the prize credits so low that your almost forced to buy them to be able to purchase the high dollar cars. If that's the case I'll be out in no time.

Oh, almost forgot, I like the tire squeal, much easier to judge when your nearing the grip limit.

If you've not tried the Rocket '07 yet (won at some point, Goodwood events perhaps) then I recommend it. Downgrade for 500pp or upgrade for 600pp and it is a total blast. Favourite car so far by miles :)

@millross , yep in the Goodwood events, 2nd set of 3 I think. Haven't tried it yet but will have a go with it tonight I hope 👍

Got great news bad news and worse news. Good news is I got the okay from the wife to buy another wheel setup. Bad news is my ps3 diied the day before gt6 arrived at my door. Worse news is I can't get a new ps3 until I start getting my bonus checks from a New job that I start in January. Looks like I'm stuck holding my gt6 copy until late April. :(

Others on the site are calling that the Blue Spaghetti Line. :)

I'll note that you have been ahead of me on a lot of those. 👍

Well, it looks like our favourite forums just got re-organized under GT5... does that mean we'll be starting brand new ones soon?

Not sure if I already said but I've got working pedals again :-)

Standard CSR pedals - way better than the cheap crap I managed to nurse for 3 years!

For those of us using Fanatec wheels, what settings for FFB are best in GT6? Right now I'm on 100 on wheel and 1 in-game, but it feels very weak.

5 in game and 70-80 FFB on the wheel. 0 SHO (dunno what it does? Doesn't make any difference on my wheel.....)

ABS 100 and I still use DRI 1 and LIN/DEA 10 but that's just me

Oh and turn the power steering OFF - important !!

Hey guys, I hope everyone is enjoying the new game. I haven't had too much time on it and may not for a few more weeks. Our daughter is home until January 4th so that cuts down on free time.

Anyway, I had to change my psn username do to the lack of a"_" in my old one, so I am now friendless. I wouldn't mind seeing how some other peeps are doing on the license tests, so if anyone feels like sending an fr my way that would be cool. My new psn is GTP_Eternal.

Took advantage of the credit glitch, wasn't big on the idea but I am pretty annoyed with the apparent greed on PD's part so I decided I better do it before the loophole gets closed. The only downside I noticed is a general dirty feeling afterwards which left me feeling that I needed a shower.

Looking forward to the next tt.

I'll send you a new FR Baron. Might want to change your personal details so your old one doesn't show up under your avatar in your posts. 👍
