Miura, Monza on s2 - same new format as we're rocking at the moment ;) :)

MkIV at Le Mans 2005 No Chicane on either RH or SS would be my dream combo. :D

Those'll work, although I kind of feel that the Muira needs some more scenery, and chicanes and old cars just seem to clash for me! How about Madrid (which ironically also has a chicane)? Loving the idea of the Mark IV on SS tyres...

@Caine - you have some time on your hands my friend :sly: great analysis đź‘Ť

It's great, feels much more like (how I'd imagine anyway, not ever driven them) an old bias ply tyre- you can really feel the car moving about, especially through the Porsche Curves and Maison Blanche. With RH you can pretty much mash the throttle, with SS you really have to modulate to maintain grip and stability on the rear end. đź‘Ť

Had about half an hour free and decided trying to find a fun combo, I tried a stock premium S2000 '06 using sport hard (stock is comfort soft) on suzuka east and it seemed very well suited, lot of fun! :)

There are so many great car and track combinations...hopefully with the new verification system we'll have even more of them available to us đź‘Ť

I agree! plenty of possibilities now :dopey:

I'd like this as well!

Just an idea, maybe we could have a separate thread for people who want and people who can offer cars for whatever the current TT combo is. That's assuming the current trend of using standard cars not currently in the OCD continues. It would probably make it easier to keep track of things.

Getting excited about the iminent arrival of GT6 so thought I'd start some light hearted discussion on potential qualifier suggestions based on what I understand of cars and tracks. My thinking is to use a track that hasn't been in the game before to put everyone at the same point in terms of track knowledge... Could do either one or any two events and combine the times (similar to the two 'Ring sections of the GT5 qualifier)

2013 Ford Mustang Boss 302 - Bathurst
Renault Sport Megane Trophy - Brands Hatch GP
Audi Sport quattro S1 Pikes Peak ’87 - Goodwood Festival of Speed
Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe ’64 - Willow Springs

Just my 2 cents for fun... Suggestions?

Good ideas, and was hoping others would add theirs as well...

We'll certainly be working hard to get the GT6 qualifier up ASAP (with some online races sprinkled in of course:embarrassed:).

So many mind think alike; I agree with Carlos with reformulating the qualifier. There can be a number of different variables though with using the tracks and cars, though the cars are a nice selection. What of having all the different drive trains including in the qualifier. Its an idea that I came up with for my series so add more of a challenge.

I've not been on GTP in a while! What has happened to the forums haha?

I think Brands Hatch sounds like a pretty cool combination! Although I wouldn't mind karting! ;)

You'd get, like, a 0.000 handicap if that happened!

As for my own suggestions, I can't think of anything yet. I have ideas for regular time trial events though. For example:

Ford 2000 Ford Falcon XR8 '00 @ Bathurst
Gran Turismo Racing Kart S125 @ Gran Turismo Arena
McLaren F1 GTR Race Car @ Brands Hatch
TOYOTA 86 "Racing" '13 @ Tsukuba Wet
Gen 6 NASCAR's @ High Speed Ring
Ford Shelby GT500 '13 @ Willow Springs

Yeah haha! And I've been meaning to tell you that the new lap record around Autumn Ring Mini is 35.482 ;) And around kart Space 1 it is 31.602 ;)

I think the Audi R8 LMS would be a pretty good car to qualify, its pretty well balanced, from the last time we drove an enduro with it, its almost like the sls in my opion, the toyota 86 is also pretty good. As for track something with a lot of different combinations so as to play to different driving styles. So for me Bathrust, Willow Springs seems aight. But honestly I think The Ring was a pretty good choice, I don't know if that will be used again, but it seemed like a pretty good place for the qualifier

I was just suggesting one (or more) of the new tracks so that everyone is on a level playing field from a track experience perspective. Always happy to run the 'Ring though :)

How about a race car and sports car qualifier @manumanu19?

Addition:
I was actually thinking that both cars being ran with the combined time. Or even an series of cars with different drive trains.

My ideas for a GT6 WRS qualifier:

Willow Springs - Cadillac CTS-V Coupe '11
Bathurst - Ford Ford Shelby GT500 '13
Brands Hatch - Renault Sport Clio R.S. '11

Should we announce the qualifier times at Monday 5th 11:59pm along with the last tt deadline ???
Love this idea.

Nice to see you here. đź‘Ť

Everyone needs to remember that the game basically picked the qualifier for GT5, based on what we could verify. The suggestions here are great, and we don't discount the passion from the community.

We'll see what GT6 brings with respect to replay verification, including whether our current verification methods discovered for GT5 continue to work.

Beyond that, we're generally happy that the GT5 qualifier rarely allowed people to over-qualify, which is really the main point. If we get it wrong, you should be able to move up, as opposed to having you in over your head, right out of the gate.

I personally loved the qualifier for GT5, but I love the Ring. :) I think longer, more difficult combos serve best for qualifiers, which is something the Ring did very well.
The larger the time gap between divisions, the better sorted they are, imo.

Looking forward to some more racing with old boys and new toys.
