thanks,I watched a replay from one of the top ten guys and he was taking the corners in 3rd, so I was doing that but I think i must have been going at much slower speeds than him because i could hardly accelerate:)
I have been getting a fair few clean (but very conservative) laps in now, getting more of a feel for the car than I usually do but I have to be so careful with the throttle.
i have been changing the force feedback aswell but I cant decide if it is easier with higher resistance or default

I just turn up the resistance to max. No point in having a force feedback wheel and turning down the resistance. Just my opinion though. I don't mind the extra fight, can't turn it down in a real car so why not feel it when racing virtually!

I'm late into this one..

T1 22.530
T2 57.392

Edit:
What a crazy little car:tup:

T1 22.489
T2 57.332

Bit of an improvement in T1 and T2, but then my T3 slipped

I can't link them up :(

anybody struggling with the first corner of the third sector, just feels awkward to me, probably because i rarely use this version of the track.:dopey:

yea, I can sometimes hit the apex at X mph and stay on, and at other times at 10mph slower I fly sideways >.<

Where X Is a number between 0 and 200 :dopey:

i know exactly what you guys mean but it has everthing to do with how you approach the turn. When and how you steer in

Make sure you approach it smoothly (don't steer left then right as it throws the Clio way off balance) and make sure to have your downshifting done before your turn in (reduces traction loss of going from low in 4th to 3rd, can produce wheelspin on a corner). I was having the same problem and now the only serious problem I'm having is the final 2 uphill hairpins :(.

Very small improvement, got way too nervous in T3...

T1: 22.366
T2: 57.016

Welcome to WRS. 👍

Please be sure you're following our AUP, including using capital letters at the start of sentences.

For that corner, I brake at the first white marker after the wall on the right hand sign notches in.

I've found the best control and speed going down to 3rd, but it can be taken in 4th.

As Nish said, get all your braking and downshifting out of the way before you turn in. I like to be back on the throttle as soon as I have the car pointed, and take curb with the right side wheels at apex.

You can get your left wheels on the exit curbing, but be careful. The amount of curb you take here is the real determiner in whether or not you slide off.

If I got my speed correct, I have to go up to 4th and back down to 3rd again before the next right hander.

Hope that helps, and good luck. 👍

after too much laps just a small improvement:

23.007
58.899

new splits

T1: 23.137
T2: 58.937

Same for all of you on the AUP. Make sure you're using caps at the start of your sentences.

Hi guys . First attempt for me at the WRS. I got a decent (for me) time but had to give up since the car was spinning too much!:ill:

Split times:
T1: 22.968
T2: 59.302

Sorry about forgetting the capitals at the beginning of sentences didn't mean to forget them... I just do by accident sometimes...

In any case new splits may not look much different, but I cut over a second off my time and I am now sticking to it!

i have been changing the force feedback aswell but I cant decide if it is easier with higher resistance or default

I use anything from 3 to 5... depends on the car. With the Clio, 5 gives me more feel for front end grip, but makes it harder to catch the late oversteer and vice versa... so I'm using 4 as the best compromise for me.

Higher settings than 5 just add steering weight without adding any feeback... which with the small wheels (relative to a real car's wheel), makes making tiny steering inputs much harder. And the steering weight is much higher on higher FF settings than modern cars with power steering.

Have new and improved splits. Manage to do a .2xx better T2 but not much improvement at the line. Very frustrating. Did 3 stints this week sunday, wednesday and today. On one day i have a good T2 the other day a good T1 and the other a T3. But they just don't come together at once. I'm i the only one with this problem.

I'm in the same boat almost every week Dennis. I've found that concentrating on the full laptime and only checking the splits when I view the replay helps. After all, it's only the full laptime that counts.
Even then it is frustrating knowing that a better certain sector would make a big difference to your lap.
I guess that's what keeps us coming back week after week.

 Stotty. I reckon you have to be a bit insane when you spend an hour trying to find a tenth of a second.

We all do it from time to time lol. I once did an hour and my best time was in the first few minutes.

It's getting better:

22.885
58.737

I have good feeling about it. At first I couldn't take the corners in a smooth way. But thanks to tips I've read in the postings I was able to improve.

Good job, just keep at it. Once you can get around the track quickly and smoothly you've won 66% of the battle. Now try variations of attacking the corners from different turn in points.

Plus, once you get the handle on a spin happy short wheeled MR other car's just seem to fall in place. At least to me they do.

Thanks. Indeed, it took me while getting around the track quickly and smoothly but now I start taking the corners in different ways.

My new splits:

22.811
58.656

Finally tied a good T2 to a decent T3 over here -

22.566
57.443

Finally got up the nerve to turn off the traction control. It shaved off some time but I feel I still can get .2 down in the T2.

T1- 22.720
T2- 58.292

Great splits room, back to the drawing board for me again!!

Great splits room, back to the drawing board for me again!!

Thanks Andy

But i have a better plan for. Just stay in bed or drop down on the sofa and watch some tv. Till WRS 105 is announced

Don't let my splits fool you. Like i said before .2xx faster T2 but hardly any faster at the line :grumpy:

After about 2 non-stop hours of trying to improve yesterday I very nearly gave up and posted my current best lap time, but low and behold had a cheeky session last night and smashed 0.7 seconds off my complete lap time and was consistantly getting very close times to it from then onwards, although the 'cheecky' little go did turn into a 6 hour session running into 4am!

New splits:
T1: 22.617
T2: 57.862

Really pleased with the improvement after the advice from you guys, thanks.
I also managed to knock another .05 off my best lap but forgot to save the replay, ARRGH!!:grumpy:
