1st complete session in. Great combo. You really have to live on the very dang edge to be fast here. Pray for a bit of luck and remain focused.

Will give it another go this weekend. Pretty happy with this lap but gotta give it one more shot this weekend

FREE BEER!

I gotta stop doing that.....someone will report me to the advertising standards agency

Don't forget to sign up for the OLR, this one should be a blast and it would be good to see as many as possible on track especially some of the Div 3 and 4 drivers. I promise those D1 aliens wont bite (much) and the experience, if you can make the Saturday event will pay dividends for your TT. I haven't done one yet and not improved my TT times as a direct result.

Find all the details > here <

See you on track, I hope

Signed up as a reserve for WW and EU slots.
Enter now to make sure I have the right boots on! :dunce:

Did another 100m last night. No improvement. Hopefully the olr will yield some results.

How did you go with this?

I read T2 and started using 5th...sometimes faster sometimes slower. Muscle memory still shifts back to 4th on late entry sometimes, having good speed in 5th out of the corner while relaxing steering out of the corner has got me 0.3 in front of the ghost, even when neck and neck at T2 corner entry - i just can't repeat it every lap!
No time to run last night and got about 10 laps in this morning, using 5th in T2 was faster, saw my first 22.2xx, and many 22.3xx. of course I went off in S2 to ruin that fast lap, but now my optimal has improved.

S2 is challenging. The videos posted earlier in the thread help a lot. Really pay attention to the braking points for T5. Also the lines for T3 and T4.

My best times were using 3rd thru T3 and T4. Shift to 4th down hill and stay in 4th to the hump and shift to 5th.
I keep trying this and cant get thru T5 in 4th with any kind of speed always pushes wide or i lose revs

Still too many re-starts rather than consistent laps but 186 miles run today and some nice improvement in T1 with some improvement in T3 too in part due to using higher gears etc from the threads tips etc ; time to find in T2 still as remain less confident through turns 3-5 than anywhere else on the track...........so focus for the weekend will be on the second sector primarily and hopefully much more consistent laps than stop start !

Had a quick run recently and cut .15s at the line, yet have no splits due to the lag of empty in-game board. ^^ But I can say them were within a tenth of those on board.

Still have no idea how to take the uphill top right-hander (T5 i think). Scared to hit throttle earlier due to the spin, yet always seem to hit it to late. :scared:

Are you braking at the curbs on the right? I usually have to trail brake to keep from going too wide.

@RuddRacer or @GTP_Patrick1 may can tell you something I am not thinking?
I do start braking at the apex or slightly before of the curb of the right. It is a fine line sometimes it is better to be a little hot and feather the throttle until full gas. You should swing almost to track's edge when hitting the gas, makes the bump a bit more out of control.

  • You need to make sure you use the 'Save Best Lap Replay' (ghost replay), not the 'Save Replay' (See pic below)
  • Before saving your replay ensure that you continue running after completing your fast lap until at least the end of first sector. This will ensure you have a complete replay.
  • To view your best lap replay, go to 'My Library' and watch the replay from there using the 'Replays' option.
  • While viewing your Replay, enter the live timing screen to view your sector splits. You will need to do this after your car has passed the sector markers to see it listed.
  • Simply post the splits that are shown in the live timing screen, and our Fetchbot will parse them and add them together for your total sector time.

Maybe that will help @MikeyLCR. It is definitely faster in 4th gear.

@Mires when you are at the top of the hill (T4), start easing on the throttle as you turn in. It will make it easier to hammer down when you start down the hill.

I've done 300.7mi today! Mainly racing my RM shod ghost! That may become a regular thing for me.
Finally got to my personal target and spent a ridiculously long time in my version of the zone. Almost a dreamlike, unfocused quality and that's what it took, so when you watch my replay, imagine me, eyes glazed and probably drooling.
Mentally draining and still .2 off my optimum but I think that's me done.

Geez @Ph1sh, I wondered if someone would get a sub 22 in S1. I think you need to slow down! You are swimming more like a Mako than a fish . Nicely done!

So after a couple of long sessions without improvement something weird happened:

on lap 50 of the last session for today I messed up Turn 2, and basically written off the lap, but then this happened:

22.316
25.686

A blazing fast S2, I have no idea how I did it and I probably won't be able to repeat it, but a decent enough S3 meant a .2xx at the line :boggled:

26.304

@Gravitron @EDK

Added you guys in a pm, fetchy is acting weird with me.

Split 1 more than 1/2 sec off best, split 2 best by couple tenths but the nugget is T3 which is best by 1/2 sec plus. LT better by 0.35s.

Although I'm still spending about 95% of my time on the beach, this combo is simply brilliant. When you ( I ) complete a lap it's usually pretty close to my best so far and it just keeps encouraging you to go again.
YEAH!!

After the kids got me the VR set, love in-car cam, I wish PD would make the A-pillars transparent.

Thanks EDK, thought I was missing out on something from the last update.

How do you get on with VR?
I had one for Xmas, took it back cos it made me feel sick and I thought the quality of display was very poor.
Tried it on Driveclub.
Anyway, I was under the impression it only worked with PS4 as a demo not a full game.
