With great frustration! Braking early seem to help me, trying to be smooth and just carry the speed. It's quite a flowing sector when you hook up all the apexes. But if you don't it seems to just kill the speed for the rest of the corners.

i'm struggling for consistency in all 3 sectors tbh.
I think everyone outside the top 10 is. Right now I am close to my optimal time, but I am only running like 50% of my laps as clean right now. I have made a lot of sandcastles with my car. I think I am doing great in T3, my T1 times is decent, so it is T2 that is currently killing me. Maybe I am trying too hard. The old saying "sometimes slower is faster" may apply here.

It's the view where you are up behind the car which I have to confess was how I used to run when I first started out with the GT franchise

I used to drive 3rd person when starting GT too, to perve on the awesome car graphics! Was watching every replay for the graphics too...till i realised I could do twice as much racing if I didn't...

Ironically, I am now starting to watch replays (mine and other racers) again for a different reason, to improve lap time.

Another 250 miles down and another improvement, not sure I can beat this now as I seem to have hit a wall! Though I’m very happy with this time.

@Never2fast1 I think you’ve definitely got me beat this week as my splits are slower :banghead:

@Nerazzurri I had your T1 time beat, my first green div 4 time :) Then you had to go and beat it...i wonder how much rearranging will go on with the last sector...I may improve yet!

What gear are you taking T2 in?

I have been staying in 5th and keeping it towards the inside. Just try to keep your speed up.

How are you guys getting low 26's or lower???:banghead: I am struggling on S2
I'm pretty sure both videos will get you into the 26's if you follow their suggestions. I'm still learning and this is my 3rd WRS TT here so I've spent more hours than I care to recall lapping this track. You can also search the TT archives for Willow Springs and the one with the DeLorean has the winning lap replay posted in the results thread.

2 steps forward and 1 step back. I'm getting a handle on 2nd sector and still improving in the last but now I'm consistently .2-.3 slower in the 1st sector :confused:

Should have wrote S2, But I have been using 4th in Turn 2, and was debating with trying 5th tonight. Now I will. Thanks:cheers:

Think he means sector 2 ;)

Tree'd

I had a feeling it was S2 instead. I reread it twice

I have no idea how to get sub 26s . Best I have done was a 26.1. I am pretty sure I have the line down. Just have to keep the speed up.

How did you go with this?

I read T2 and started using 5th...sometimes faster sometimes slower. Muscle memory still shifts back to 4th on late entry sometimes, having good speed in 5th out of the corner while relaxing steering out of the corner has got me 0.3 in front of the ghost, even when neck and neck at T2 corner entry - i just can't repeat it every lap!

There’s not a lot between our T1 & T2 times, with a good run I think you could get ahead of me again.

I’ve realised with this track how well you can take a corner is very much dictated by how well you took the previous corner, especially in T2. Getting a smooth line around the 4th corner is impossible if turn 3 isn’t taken perfectly.

Done more 100 km today... and new splits

Nice improvement @Maique

Only took me about 80 laps after my first run to pick up 4 hundredths at the line. It was better than any of my optimal laps in the other sessions I ran so I am happy with it. Think I am close to my limit. Will do the race Saturday then jump right to the TT, I usually pick up a bit of time watching the fast guys in practice and running with tire wear for an hour makes TT mode seem easier.

Had a few beers and went faster  I saw a 48.1 once and binned it on last corner. Picked up a half tenth overall, although the last sector was just a bit off. I love this track, I can stay close to guys who are much quicker than me on other tracks.

First real session with MT. Just me getting a feel for things, and my initial thoughts are as follows...

OMG, this thing actually has a sixth gear.
S2 flows so much better when you can select the gear you want.
Still more time to find in the final turn.
Still need to work on my lift and turn point for turn 2.

Still, not very confident yet, but will be paying closer attention to some of the posts above.

Oh, and I beat my time.
