Math + GT5 = Better GT5 WRS ;)

I'll say this: without FetchBot and my little compilation program, there's no way I could keep up with the number of submissions we're getting!

As it stands now, however, more submissions just makes for a better competition (and statistics work better with a larger sample size).

..a long explanation of statistical analysis in the WRS...

Hehe, awesome Vax - and we used to think in maths lessons at school "But when are we ever going to need this?" :)

There's the answer, in full cheerful colour. 👍

And without fetchbot, Steven would be going crazy doing all those luxy updates.

Awesome lap keep it up. 👍 But you were close to dirty on that first corner, I had to double-check so see that everything was allright.

Thank you sir... but just curious... I was one of the first to submit my replay yet I haven't been green-flagged by the mods yet? I'm new to this whole thing... lol

Oh crap! I submitted the wrong time, from one of my earlier replays. Oh well. I'll have to do better this week.

Thanks Horst for viewing my replay.

On another note:

Why 162 submited splits but only 150 their final time?

Heres my replay finally, had to dig around to find it.

Shame I didn't post my proper time which was a 1:19.9 :( almost a second quicker.

That'll teach me to make sure I send thru my times as well as updating my splits!

This is for pal.

Pity theres no way to watch NTSC replays on PAL games i really wanted to watch a few of the top guys times :(

Congrats to the Division winners.

Didn't get much time to run laps this week and it shows. Oh well, onward and upward.

I know where one went......after forgetting to change it when I typed it, I accidentally submitted a split 3 time instead of my final....which almost caused Vaxen's 'bot to develop a hernia!

Wow, i must really suck at this. Got my own division :yuck:

Thumbs up for you all! Might consider not to partisipate any more, looks like i can't get any deasent times up.

Vroomfondel
GTP_Munch: Clean 👍

Thank you 👍

Any pointers or tips?

Try not to get down on yourself.
Keep at it, watch some replays and learn what others are doing and try it for yourself.
The WRS is the place to be to get better/faster.

Post your replay and ask for comments and you will get some tips about your driving and how to improve.

I'll try but I feel a bit of a fraud offering advice as you're going faster than I could with a DS3.

Here goes though. It looks like you could have taken more curb on the first corner which would have helped carry a little more speed through the next two. Then, in the first tunnel, you went too far right on the exit and compromised the line into right hander. Probably better to stay off the throttle a little longer on the first for more speed overall through there. Also, you throttled on/off/on through the corner at the end of the back straight and then had some room on the exit. Looks like you could have just held the gas on there.

Hope that helps a bit. I'm new at this WRS business though so my best advice would be to view plenty of other replays too. 👍

lol I was disappointed as well... I wasn't really a fan of that last sector. Performing so well on T1-T3 I guess I must've cracked under the pressure :ouch: ...I kept trying but couldn't yield a better result...so I just gave up and hoped for the best

btw... could someone verify my replay please? :)

I wish I could watch your replay, I just don't understand how you have the car control required to run a 1'01.0 T3 yet loose half a second in the last sector.

Its a clean and tidy lap but on the whole you lost time by simply not being aggressive enough on the throttle. This car has masses of traction under power and you could afford to be very early on the throttle out of bends if on the right line... which you were on the whole. In the second sector, you should've changed down to third for turning into the long right hander and the left hander into the tunnel - to keep the car in the power. Nice lines though, just hammer it more :)

Oh and +1 for having the windscreen wipers going 👍

Well I don't know what else to say, I wish I had more time to run a better and more properly strung together lap lol...unfortunately I'm also competing with the demands of my final year in university.

Thank you! It seems also that I pushed the revs too high on this car. I realized too late that I get better corner exiting speed and straight top speed shifting up a little sooner. Too bad I didn't had time to try that before.
Anyway I'm pretty happy to get better stats than week 1 :)

Fair enough 👍

I look forward to seeing a week when you can dedicate some quality time. If you were able to run such a mega T3 with barely any track time then I can only imagine how fast you can go once you properly string a lap together

Nah, don't do that.
If you have a look through the divisions, everyone in any div can have a bad week, or the combo not suit their driving style.
Stick with it, practise makes perfect.

Cheers All !!!

Thanks again to all the guys who put in all the hard work and keep this running. Here is my replay and thanks in advance for any feedback. Don't go easy on me. :nervous::lol:

Don't do that, man! Enjoy it..you didn't pay to enter, and you only get out of it what you put in!

If you want to hook up in a lobby to run time trial style and practice, that's a-ok with me! Just add me on PSN!

Agreed. I'm sure there are people willing to help you learn. I doubt the moderator and admin guys don't run this for their good health. There is a healthy community aspect behind it all and learning and pushing everyone to get the most out of themselves is the name of the game. Have you experimented with different button/stick configurations. i.e. analog stick for gas and brake vs buttons or vice versa? I remember after playing for hours on GT4 how switching my configuration around made all the difference in the world.
