I knew the track wasn't going to be a problem, now I can see the car is pretty predictable as well.

Put together a lap wherein even upon viewing I don't see a big flaw anywhere, which was surprising at this early point. Though not all splits improved. This run had an annoying ext feature: just before Caracciola I needed to pause the game for a while.

Couple of seconds off at the line, now to gather hundredths or...

This is my first event, so please bear with me while I ask these newbie questions:

1. Is this competition ONLY based on the first 9 sectors? In other words, I can relax after 9 and complete the rest of the lap in safety?

2. What do the colored sector times on the leaderboard signify? Green? Purple?

Thanks!

Welcome to the family :cheers:

1. The competition is based on the whole lap, we just post the first 9 splits to compare our times with the rest of the field. Give it your best the whole lap 👍

2. A Green sector is the best one in the division while a purple one is the best sector overall

Total at 461 km.

This is an "old" lap that I'm not too happy about, slow through at least the first few sectors of NS. Actually I'm looking out for bona fide seconds yet.

3 seconds faster down the line, probably another second and a half out there. Will most certainly lap this car until I go blind, blissful, brilliant combo.

(Am I the only one paranoid about these 3s and 8s repeating? Like PD's timekeeping is playing with us. Happens often that split times resemble one another in tenths...)

First try, first lap. Lets see where we land.

I'm really happy about this lap. Although the final corner let me down. Too fast in, too slow out. Lost about 1.5 seconds there. :( I think there's still about 2.5 seconds to squeeze out of the lap. I've done enough for today though, maybe tomorrow.

Such a fun car to drive, I love just chuckin' it into turns after a quick tap of the brakes. Not sure if I'll have the time to give it another go before the deadline but I'm happy with my time. :gtpflag:

Wow, this is the first lap of this course I have ever completed cleanly, normally I would spin at some point or hit a wall. Though it is still the only lap I have completed cleanly.
I always lose it in numerous spots throughout the graffiti area between the two concrete banked corners. Fun times.

Messy in a few spots, lots of time to be found when I can complete laps. Splits look different to what I was seeing on the screen during the lap too

I want to make sure I understand the track boundaries here. I would have thought that the driver was off-track (3 tires over the red and white rumble strips) at the 29 second mark in the video. Are the gray areas next to the red and white rumble strips considered part of the track?
It seems against the "spirit of the rules", but that's just me. I kind of have a "no grass" policy. Or at least minimal grass. Except for the 97T, anyway. I was all over the place with that thing. My hypocrisy knows no bounds.

There's a few reasons for the cobbles being in-bounds:

- on a lap this long it's nice to have *some* confidence in your own mind, that you just set a good clean lap, without having to check every close encounter with the rumble/cobble borders in the replay.
It's much more obvious in real-time for you to know that you've gone past the cobble/grass boundary than the rumble/cobble boundary.

- less frustration for those not very familiar with the track - higher participation

Oh, I'm totally with you there. The cobbles are like curbs on any other track.

I was really only speaking to the brazen acts of terror of throwing 3/4 of the car into the grass to cut as much of the track as absolutely possible, yet retaining a "clean" lap.

A practice I happily took part in during the 97T week.

Gained 5.5s on this lap, 0.5s in the last sector alone!

First clean lap. Scruffy but clean and have seen certain splits way quicker, lap is full of mistakes, but it's nice to have a banker on the board...

That should get me back into the elite 10 seconds club :)

Had a few runs last night but couldn't manage a faster clean lap
I had one lap that was on par with Bart's splits but after checking the replay I saw I brushed the barrier on the exit of the gp circuit which was quite annoying as I finished the lap 3.5 seconds up on my current best.
But I'm loving this combo brings back great memory's of taking my own car there two years ago .

That is awesome. :cheers: This car? 👍

And, not awesome, about the binned fast-lap. :ouch:

Tonight I explored just how slow my current T10-to-end is. :yuck: The Nordschleife is a big bag of time. :irked: :P

No not that car I took my other pride and joy with 547 bhp

Managed a 9:29 on the green hell

So, has anybody else tried running a lap since update 1.09? Does the car feel different, or is it just me/the feedback difference (more strength, more information)? I could test to see if it's the camber, but I'm too lazy. :P

Adjustments to the physics simulation model The physics simulation model of “Gran Turismo 6” has been updated with the following changes:

(1) The dynamics of the car on surfaces with cornerstones and bumps have been improved;
(2) The effect of the tyre geometry has been changed (mainly for the "Camber Angle" option);
(3) The handling of some rear heavy cars has been improved;

Yup, read that, but it's still PD. :lol:

When I drove the car it felt extremely similar, but then there was just a slight difference through the corners, which could be down to a camber fix or the feedback improvements. An example of the feedback being improved is how I was just driving my X2014 Fan Car at Red Bull Ring, and when I locked the front brakes the wheel went completely light. On the other hand, I didn't notice any changes being caused by camber. I suppose I'll do a brief test with a more appropriate car/track combo...

Edit: I'll tentatively say that camber has been at least improved, 0.0 seemed slower than 1.0 on the Scion FRS I just drove. And the reason I brought it up here is where does this leave us for this TT? Will a car with 1.5 3.5 be slower, as it felt to me, rendering all laps on one or other patch worthless? :nervous:
