Accidentally clicked Reply to Manu's post.

Sorry I asked.
Don't be sorry you asked. Tone is tough on the internet, and I sort of knew I was opening up a hornets nest by commenting on the realism of ABS. It's a very polarizing topic.

We've both stated our opinions, now we can get back to racing. 👍

I get it. It's hard to be sure who's setting you up to pounce. No sweat, man.

I probably wouldn't have signed up had ABS 0 been mandated from the start. And I was very pleased when E-Brake was disallowed. So, you're doing a great job so far as I'm concerned.

I'm just thankful to be part of it. The organization and structure is very impressive.
I mean, I bought not one but TWO '87 Civics, each with 150 km and countless crashes. And I love every minute of it.

I know what my T3 looks like and I can tell you it's not pretty.
So I'll either clean it up or run 54.x T2 :)
It's just the chicane, the rest of the lap is ok.

Made some extra changes to my car, downforce 51 51, diff 5 40 5, so far with this my best is .634 .867, but then I messed up the roundabout. I think .5 first sectors are possible. :)

51/51 is quite low, doesn't it unsettle the rear?

A little more than it was before at 50 52, I feel comfortable with a twitchy car though. I think the diff made the difference though, now aiming for at least a low .8 at T2 and I don't think it could be from the downforce.

It's not but sometimes the rear can get out of shape and you end up loosing time, especially in the round about. I haven't tried a high diff setting yet, maybe I'll try it later and see if it makes a difference, I still need to improve sector 3

EDK's gearing and taking all turns in T2 in 3rd gear should do it.

Thanks for the tip.. has made things better.. seen some improvements.. I'm just a bad driver..

I haven't done tho body rigidity either. Anyone got experience good/bad?

I did it last night.. knocked a chunk off over the line.. so it sure helped me.. 👍

D2 is very crowded at the top, 6 of us within less than a tenth. All coming down to T3 it looks like.

I don't think I'm going to trouble you Patrick. My new T3 was a little slower than my last so I only gained 0.03 at the line. Haven't tried body rigidity and still running the same tune. Doubt I'll get another run so I'm done. Good luck to my fellow D2'ers and everyone else

There's also a tendency for people to want to brake late into the start of the second sector twisty bits, coming off the second straight. There's little if anything to be gained, and a lot to be lost, with doing that. Brake on time, and even hit the apex of that first entry left, and you'll be surprised how much you can gain. Keep it smooth and tight, all the way through.

I have a reasonably quick second sector on the board, and I am using second gear in the middle of the long, looping left. And shifting to 3rd as I turn into the exit corner, which is far and away the most important corner to getting a good T2 time.

Things are hotting up, I may need to run again and try and improve, T3 is so damn hard (especially when you are up)

Had to give it one more run.

Yup, that T1 is pretty bad, but still gained .110 on the lap.

Submitted and accepted. Good luck everyone.

Nice sector 2 👍

Thanks for the tips.. I had just begun to realise.. I was breaking too late going into that section.. yes that last corner in T2 can be tricky.. if you loose momentum..

I also don't get all the way to the left on that s2 straight. There are some bumps in the braking zone if you take the entry too wide.
You don't want to drop bellow 75kmh in the bus stop if you want to use 3rd gear of EDK's transmission (I think I carried 78 through there).

While the look of the leaderboard puts a smile on my face there are only two tenths separating 2nd place from 15th. That's just a fraction of time that can be lost in the final chicane. So far I managed:
Brake too early and had to coast.
Brake too much.
Hit both corners.
Launch the car in the air and into the barrier on the exit.
Lose the rear end and scrub off all the speed on the exit.
Barely touch the wall on the exit - that one is the most frustrating.

Got a 'low' .037 (pb nowt .024) for first but bogged down in the second - + by half a second - so quit the lap. A third behind I'd still go for. Don't fancy my chances to get a tenth off at the line, but it'd be really great to see.

Addendum/note to self: I reviewed the .024 run and I braked shortly before the fast r/l where there's almost no margin for error, give throttle while passing through and then up the tempo repeat until I reach first gear for the left. I did cook r front at that point, a reason for not breaking into twenty-fours. Edit: 24,907. Do only moderate motor braking anywhere.
