My mileage hasn't changed.
And it won't. What the manual calls "deterioration" (mileage, engine condition, oil condition, and body rigidity) gets reset after an arcade run, along with any damage.

In a "free run" (a "test drive" in the garage), only damage gets reset after a run. In career mode or online, both deterioration and damage stay on the car.

Mighty nice times.

Thanks. Not my favorite track, but I usually run very well here. I gain a bit of time in the right turn at the end of the back straight, I like that corner.

Where in Wisconsin do you live? I am SW of Milwaukee.

Just south of Milwaukee, which means I got a few inches of snow this morning.

It's been very close to the wall on exit from right turn after S1 and on the apex of last right turn in S3. Right on the limit. Sector 3 wasn't very good I guess (those last 2 right turns are hard to get).

Excuse me for a moment...
:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

Ok, much better.

Spent 2 hours last night unable to touch my PB. Apparently "really wanting to" is not enough to go faster. Mainly I'm getting frustrated with the number of slightly different ways I'm approaching the 90 turn that all feel like they have the same result.

Perspective check: I'm closer to the top time than I was last TT, and I know I'm doing well for my division...

...but damn it I still want those tenths! :D

👍 Nice splits :)

Remember in city courses: if your VERY close to the wall, check the replay to make sure the mirror doesn't touch. Mirrors are not allowed to touch barriers either!

OK my first splits!

Am I dong something wrong? Not much time logged but I didn't expect to be that far behind last place. My car is not logging any miles either. What's going on? I know I am not fast and new to this but didn't expect to be over once full second out of LAST at the first split!! Maybe I AM just that bad….

I have no driving advice that others haven't given but have you applied all of the allowed performance upgrades and performed the oil change on the car?

@Bochawa72 - I actually have one more: The only corner that NEEDS to be traversed in 2nd gear is the first in Sector 2- the 90 degree right-hander. All other corners can be driven in 3rd gear (or more if you are brave). Don't follow the driving line there (if you use it) brake to around 80 km/h and then take it very close to the apex and then GENTLY accelerate out of the corner, you will end up right on the dr.-line. with acceleration going right into third.

I might be a newbie, but that corner is the only one I get through with room and speed to spare, this way.

:D you can do it - if not today, then tomorrow 👍

Good thing the mirrors are small on this car and barely extend beyond the fender flares.

I took to putting the camera directly over the car on one questionable section (just before T2) to make sure I could see the rumble strips between the wall and the car. I probably could get 2, maybe 3 pieces of sheet metal in between them.

I probably won't be submitting that lap anyway.

Another thing to watch out for on city tracks:

:irked:

That was GT5 Week 6 at Monaco, not sure if this can happen on GT6.

Got a few more in today :-) took a full second off my time which is great, but I can't seem to break into the 56.xxx at T2. Oh well.

30.060
57.144

new splits. I saw a 29.xxx but it was wasted on missing the braking zone for the next turn by a margin :-(

Yes I did all that. It was the zero mileage thing that got me thinking maybe something wasn't sticking in the TT. I think it's just that I'm not the driver I was hoping to be! This is week three and my third TT. My learning curve goes like this. Day 1- Slow
Day 2- Slow
Day 3- Slower than the first two days.

Then sometime after that things might start to click. Certainly never clicked in the FXX though. I wish I was back in college and had nothing but time!

Other general driving questions I've been wondering as I experiment with this combo:

1. When braking and downshifting into a turn, when is the best time to downshift? It feels to me like my stopping distance just before the 90 degree turn is shorter if I brake in gear, and then downshift just before accelerating (as opposed to downshifting immediately as I brake.)

2. I would think a car turns best when shifting weight forward (either by braking or letting off the gas), but this car feels like a slight bit of gas helps with turning. Am I wrong?

my experience... is not great, but no you are not wrong, this particular car, in that particular corner turns best with a slight bit of gas all through the corner.

1. These tires don't like being upset, so I too find it better to downshift later in the braking zone. Basically keep it off the rev limiter.

2. This combo likes balanced throttle. GT6 is normally punishing to those who balance the throttle early in the corner, iRacing is brutal to you if you don't... But this combo likes the car to be kept even keel, and balanced as much as possible. So, in short, yes. And by balanced I mean not accelerating or decelerating, keeping constant speed against the lateral forces.

If it's just a case of acclimatization to the car and the rack , try turning the driving line on ( if you haven't already) and as other have suggested start slowly. See where the driving line is good and where it's bad and experiment a little then increase speed as you get more familiar with the feel of the car around a track that is deceptively demanding.

Sounds like you know your pattern and it's just a case of running laps until it clicks

Good luck 👍

New splits which aren't even close to the wall but which is a lot faster at the line than the last one:

30.219
57.336

Eurgh! 150 miles on this car and it's gone from one of my favourites in GT5 to me now hating it. Miraculously improved my S2 time for the first time in 2 days...by 0.05, so small that I can't be bothered to post it. Have managed to get 2 sub 30 S1s, only to mess up the next sector. My ultimate pace would be 1/2 second quicker than my actual best for the S2 split but cannot get near it so am retiring the car as I am hating it more lap by lap due to notbeing able to find any consistency with it. Good luck to you all for the rest of the week

Don't give up mate. I have weeks like that as well, actually most of them, and I just walk away for a day or so then have another bash with fresh spirits and fresh ideas on line, approach etc.
