Good questions. 👍 This track offers the extreme in being able to get huge (illegal according to our Race Specifics) S/F speeds by going outside the cone arc. The game doesn't red-lap you for doing so. Ideally it would do a "Next lap invalidated" if you do that. Most tracks aren't like this, which is why you don't see specific S/F rules stated in most other weeks. So us stewards figured out what max speeds we could achieve by doing pretty much what you said...get as big of a legal run to the line as we could and then look at the best lap replay and observe what the very first digital speedo number we saw was. This is a good conversation point, I am always looking at S/F line speed. It seems in some combos that, the top speed is gained on a full lap prior to hot lap. On others I feel like I can hit it on a restart straight away. Is this something that is considered when the combo is created? Obvi it was thought about on this one. Not trying to create a controversy, but this is the first time that I can remember that S/F speed would be a consideration for DQ. Perhaps it is because SofWS has the layout that requires that consideration? ....As an addendum, can we talk about how we got to a certain speed at S/F? i.e; "I ran to the edge of the cones, put it in reverse, and then hammered it to S/F?" I did not do that for the record, but it does beg the question.
Yes, you can talk about how you start a hotlap, yes you can talk about how you take all parts of T3, you just can't post a video of your T3 or mention any of your T3 times publicly.
We used to have folks that would routinely write up full-track guides on how they take every portion of the track and we've kind of lost that, for some reason.
