On the new setup, it’s just getting better and better, over .3 off at the line and feel still more to come, most of that was down a savage last sector, so many times I had the ghost of this lap in the rear view mirror by sector 3 but couldn’t convert it.
Felt like it had a little turbo on the ghost in the last sector
Really enjoying it wish I had another few days at it!!

Sector 3 I made a right hash of it

I don' know... I might actually submit with these. It's a bit tragic as this is the third event I am running, so this one would be kinda crucial for devision placement, but I don't care any more. If I have to listen to that 2nd to 3rd shift ONE MORE SINGLE TIME I think I'll have a mental breakdown!!!
I said some thing earlier in this thread regarding loving the WRS because it forces you to do combos you would not do by choice bla bla bla.... I TAKE THAT BACK !!! No really now, I see the learning potential this combo has, but I cannot handle this car,... unless I get another urge later today this is it. Will have to live with the placement then.

Wishing all a fantastic start into 2018 !!!

Not had much time for this tt, as I still have visitors with me, not the best time, but maybe as good as I'll get, due to the little time I have left..

A very Happy New Year to you all

I can see how different driving style I have in comparison to others - everyone praises @EDK's and @Iceman's setup, yet I am not able to run them more consistently than usual, not saying anything about the lack of pace i have.

Well done guys, keep up the good work and hope everyone achieves their goals like in game, so in real life. ^^
Happy new 2018 y'all

First time trial laps with a control pad for at least 1000 days, I would estimate!

This reminds me of the GT6 qualifier a little, however the car is better.

I’ll post something more respectable if I get the chance

Happy new year
Matt

I thought I had you covered, I was going to be done but now I need another .2. Good job.

I saw you improve earlier so had to give it another go!

It’s going to be close! I don’t think my T4 was that good on this lap, so you could definitely pip me there!

I might get some more time to improve, but depends on how I’m feeling tomorrow! Good luck in the results!

One last go at it.

Chassis is good at this point. The only way I can make more time is to start pushing the edge of OB.
Unfortunately because I am hard wired to not do so because of the real world racing I've done, I can't make myself run those kind of lines, lol. I know I'm leaving a fair amount of time on the table because of my line. Fun combo though.

Props to the WRS team!!! You guys put a lot of work into this to make it run as smooth as it does.

I've been a member here long enough to have done only 3 time trials but it's been interesting to watch the interaction of everyone involved. Not your typical TT participation.

This week though when the TT was open tuning, things really changed. The thread became extremely active with people sharing tunes, sharing how those other tunes worked for them, etc...it was interesting to watch it all unfold. GREAT JOB GUYS:tup:

It's a pleasure to be a part of this group and I look forward to being able to participate in the racing events as well.

I apologise for the disjointedness of this post, I had many things to say but it is was 4:30am after New Year's celebrations so bear with me. (I fell asleep before I could finish the ramblings below)

I know I'm late but I'd like to acknowledge the WRS's Christmas gift of tuning and thank them greatly for allowing us to tweak stuff this week.
Initially I ran a sort of a combination tune between @EDK and what I'd tweak myself, which I compared to @Iceman 's original tune and decided it had too much understeer, before seeing mad improvements on his tune from others and then going chasing more front end on iceman's tune meaning I ended up with this weird fusion of EDK, Iceman and my own preferences to get what I felt was the best setup for me. Funnily enough, the changes I made would later appear on both those revamped tunes, with EDK getting rid of the rear toe while running less front toe and Iceman adding front camber.
After what can only be described as too long, including a run to 4am yesterday with barely any improvement, today I shouted aloud to nobody in particular about a lack of rear grip, but only in acceleration, to which a quiet part of my brain responded "what differential are you running?" The answer to which I obviously didn't know and after checking realised I'd left it just a tad too high after one of my previous "will this help?" tweaks. After fixing that it just became a question of when the laptime would drop not if, and even then I simply ran out of time before New Year's celebrations kicked off, and I'm only getting around to posting now because those celebrations very much got in the way (before I fell asleep postponing this further).

Just like @Special_K I too believed a 19.3 was possible in S1, got darn close but never quite breached it with 19.419 being as close as I got, also saw a 22.184 in S2 about 3 runs before my best lap, had a 26.463 in S3 as well as part of an older best lap, and had a couple of better total times to S3 before completely messing up the final split throwing away many a great and good lap.
This one proved an incredibly frustrating challenge, my Three Sector-itis is pretty twitchy at the best of times but on a 4 sector track it was playing up something fierce! Sucks to leave so much time on the table, but it was one of those rounds where you just can't get the *really* good splits you've run to come together on the same lap, so I'll have to just suck it up and deal with being best part of 3 tenths off an 'optimal' lap.
The car was surprisingly fun in the end, got to the point where I was steering it on throttle, on brakes and sometimes with the wheel too but ultimately just not quite enough the way I wanted, have to hope that the final split is competitive enough to stay with the top guys, but as usual really rewarding to finally string sectors together to achieve what was at the time 'close enough' to your ultimate potential, which occurred a couple times even if I didn't finish that way. So many incredibly close moments with track limits and cone strikes, but in the end a relatively 'clean' lap by comparison to those that came before it, which came amusingly as part of a string of 4 consecutive PB's over 2 sessions, in which I managed to miss the 'cut' on the right hander at turn 4 in Sector 2, running completely on the tarmac of that turn instead of trimming it with 2 in the dirt as I usually did and as was suggested in the thread previously. Not sure if it was worth time or cost time but I found it interesting how that line happened to be part of many of my best laps when it wasn't the line I was aiming for.

I hope the above is coherent enough, but I hate just posting splits without saying anything else about the challenges or explaining stuff.

Another .5 at line, using Iceman tune with a few minor tweaks, and pushing the car as hard as I can. I am way over achieving this week, I consider myself an ok driver and have been finishing in the bottom 25%. This week I am near 50% and am knocking .5 tenths off everyday. Also having a nice battle with @munch2112 . we have been trading positions all week. What a blast this week has been.

Probably submitting with these times dont know if I will get a chance to run tomorrow.

Just got out of bed and decided to have a go at this with first laps of the new year, probably last time for this event.
Decided that my own tune had ran its course since I just couldn't push it any further and couldn't figure what I had wrong in it. I had a go earlier with EDK's tune, but it didn't feel right to me, so I went with Iceman's tune - and BAM! New fastest lap with .5 optimal increase. Thanks!
I knew I had something wrong in the rear! :D

Some great splits posted, not sure I will get to run before the deadline, hopefully I do as there is more out there for me.

Looking very competitive this week

Whilst the wife is in bed with a hangover, I get the TV to myself for a little while to put some more laps in.

New splits from me:
19.848
22.733
26.850

I’m not sure what’s happened, but along with @Never2fast1, I also feel like I’m overachieving this week. It has been a great battle with you too this week, very enjoyable. Here’s to many more in the weeks going forward.

Also a big thanks to @Iceman for sharing his tune, really suits my driving style and has helped me gain over 2 seconds this week!

Still trying to improve, my replay cuts off very abruptly just after I cross the line. I also feel like there is a couple more tenths left too!
Happy New Year All!! :gtpflag:
