Breakthrough, especially in the last sector (crushed all previous efforts there):

20.328
23.024
27.098

I don't know if it was raising the front end up a half-inch from before or increasing the stiffness of the springs (natural frequency), but the suspension isn't bottoming out as bad. It's still visually bottoming out in the Bowl, but not elsewhere.

My fastest S1 is only a 19.8... no clue what I’m doing wrong. Probably has to do with the fact that I can only seem to cross the line at 64mph. :irked:

Bumped up the ride height another half-inch, bumped up the spring stiffness some, new splits (slower at T3, but faster at the line):

20.087
23.317
27.191

I think the game does take suspension bottoming out into effect.

EggTune
BB +1
RH 5.04"/6.30" (128mm/160mm)
NF 2.00 Hz/2.00 Hz
ARB 6/6
Compression 63%/60%
Rebound 90%/90%
Camber -0.7/-2.0
Toe - 0.00/Out 0.20
LSD 6/15/6 (forgot this before, unchanged from my original tune though)

The thing I would want to solve is making sure you are not fixing that for one turn vs. all the other turns that you need to get the car pointed in.

What I had happening did not act like the car bottoming out, it was more like rear grip loss due to over rotation on a cambered turn.

Glad it's working for you, don't get me wrong. But it might just be ride height balancing the turn in of the car there, where it needs less.

The issue is all the flat corners, especially at the end of the lap, where it needs more.

I think to appropriately test your theory, you would need to drop the front back down, and the rear with it, to see if it continues doing what you didn't want it to do.

If it still works that way, it's just the reduction in rake having this effect.

Managed to get a go tonight :)

19.674

I seem to struggle with the turn after the double left handed in T2, any tips please guys?

The biggest improvement for me actually is the last sector, where the car itself was scraping against the curbstones. I still have a bit of an oversteer coming out of turn 5, but I think that's just me trying to go full-throttle a tick too early.

If one tune worked for everybody,....

Haha and I am happy when I run a 20.2 in this section, and you guys are running sub 20.'s..........I will have to try that 3rd gear entry, I keep going to 2nd gear.

I find that whatever time I gain by shifting to 2nd is lost in the slow upshift back to 3rd.

I’m not good with setups so I don’t even try anymore, any help would be greatly appreciated please.
I havent tried since last update but I just feel I couldn’t physically match the top split times in sector 2 or 3, either that, or Im doing something wrong! Maybe I am..
I can/have taken 3 maybe 4 tenths off but not 6 tenths by sector 3.
Currently on EDKs tune

What do you want the car to do differently in those sectors?

GRIP!!!

No it’s a good tune in fairness, can be slippery on the second and third sector but I think it’s all down to the lines you take

Ahem. Try these.

Yeah, same for me and that's something I plan to work on. Right now I am lifting ever so slightly, but that will slow you down some.

I would try adjusting these one at a time, in this order. If a change does not have the desired effect, revert to the original setting before changing another.

If change is positive, but you need more, move on to the next one in order.

  • Lower front camber. Normally camber is in increments of 0.5, but you can try smaller to dial this in.
  • Higher rear camber
  • Rear toe toward toe in, adjust in increments of 0.05
  • Last resort, lower rear ride height, but that's going to take away turn in for the low speed stuff, as will front camber, but it might be needed to balance the car at high speed.

Can’t put my finger on it yet maybe I should give it more time, Im slowly getting quicker, probably just me haha - new track to me still and haven’t really played GT for a while.
I’m just grateful for the setup better than what I could do!

@EDK

A little boundary clarification please: There's a bit of tarmac on the inside of the white line around the right-hand, exit corner of the chicane in the final sector. Is the white line the boundary or the tarmac to the inside of the white line?

Another small session with 0.5 overall gain, and only 0.2 from my optimal. Still stock.

Had to look at the replay if clean, it was, but I was over excited about my time that I ended the session too soon, so the replay doesn't display my time, not even in timing monitor :(. I can see the time in the thumbnail, but it seems that won't be visible for the verifier. Sigh.

Hoping I can ~match/improve on it so posing the times anyway

Tarmac, since we can see it. But if you are that close, maybe find a new lap?
