Ran a half hour (about my limit for 1 sitting). Small but useful improvement to overall lap. Nice clean lap with no real errors.

WOW!!!

How about sharing with your Div 2 brethren how to improve the sector 2 times? I seem to be losing a ton of time at the hairpin but I'm sure there is more somewhere else also.

Awesome finally get around to turning in a few laps get a decent grip on car+track.

My freakin' start button is broken, which means I can't exit the session to save a replay. Great. I have to use the DS3 to stop racing by exiting the whole game.
:ouch: I like how GT5P shows the start button linked to the Pause function but you still can't change it. :grumpy:

At least in Forza I can run private races that end after a set number of laps to get around not being able to pause the game.

If you are using a wheel and its the start button on that that is broken, you can change your controller to player 1. You can still use the wheel and it lets you navigate the menus with the controller.

If you use the pad and have no start button I can understand your annoyance.

Sweet thank you so much 👍
I had tried with the DS3 in slot 2 but not the other way around.

I am beginning to enjoy this. Good Luck mate 👍

Posting this for Clacksman, he sent me a PM, saying he was having trouble posting in this thread.

clacksman
I'll send you my replay if you want, and still have an NTSC disc to view it with.

The tuned Cappi is an odd car, it likes to be slid more than many (or just seems like it because it's tiny) but scrubs a lot of speed with tire squeal. Also the braking is poor, after initially pressing the brake hard it helps to lift to ~50% braking for the majority of the brake zone.

As with any car, small steering inputs are good, it will turn in with little steering input if you're patient and not still hard on the brakes.

I've actually raced this car in groups of other Tuned Cappis an a couple occasions (albeit on Rs @ 700pp) and it's in the favourite list.

Hope this helps. 👍

I've noticed about the same. I found a couple things that I think are costing me in the 2nd sector, but was not able to tie them to a good first sector, yet.

First, Degner 2, the car REALLY wants to kick out, and I think lost momentum there obviously is not only costly to T1, but also costs you in T2. I focused on braking a bit sooner for it so I can get the car straightened out sooner, as I get back on the gas.

Secondly, the Spoon curve is difficult to get perfect, just like turn 1. I'm playing with coming in a bit hot in 4th gear with an early apex, downshifting as I approach the curb, and then lifting to get the car to rotate for the second apex. I was able to get some nice second sectors last night by focusing in those areas, but was struggling with T1 consistency, as I normally do at Suz. :dopey:

Hope that helps. 👍

Thanks EDK. Posting success today ~50%.

edit: Mignun ... I see ... 👍

edit 2: I see DOUQA on the board too

The Cap' is a strange thing. Ive found that braking or lifting very early then getting on about 3/4 throttle until you feel downforce giving the tyres some bite, then full throttle, works well through most turns. Im finding it hard to keep the steering straight on exits without sliding the back end and Im having to keep making short repetitive jabs towards opposite lock.

Im still losing time in T2 struggling to get away clean from the hairpin, but I know I can do a sub 1.01.8 T1.

I can't get 3/4 throttle on midcorner without that exact result.

Also good writeup EDK, Degner 2 is very inconsistent for me.
Spoon isn't too bad for me, if I can make the second apex with just a lift rather than a brake dab I have more exit speed.

:dunce: Alright I know that sounds dumb now Ive read it myself. I meant I find the cars exit behaviour strange even without lots of throttle :) I get on the throttle before the apex of all turns but; the first, the hairpin, the first spoon apex, and the first of the chicane.👍

I am about to put this thread into overdrive cause things are starting to heat up :sly: I am being pushed by not only clacksman but now Douqa. I am gunning for my 1st division win, and if I have to take out the overall win to do it, then so be.

It is a weird car.
For turn 1&2, I'm WOT before the inside curb ends. It's best to take these two as 1 big arc as you brake lightly rather than two distinct curves.
For Spoon 1 I could be on throttle a bunch pre-apex if I hold 4th gear instead of downshifting to 3rd gear, it's more important to get the exit (and, therefore, the entry) of Spoon 2 right than the exit of Spoon 1.
For the chicane I try to put some throttle on pre-curb at both halves of it, but it must be less than half-throttle or you'll get some really weird stuff happening as the chassis deals with the curbs.

👍

Well played.

Very impressive stuff, these handicap events really do mix things up!

Killer times here guys - a 1'01.8xx at T1 with the Cap???? I think my problem is that I'm being way too smooth with the car - it never slides on me so I'm probably getting on the throttle much later than most of you. I'll try a few more things tonight to see where I'm at but I suspect I'm about at my max already on this one.

Thanks for the replay offer but since we're in the same Div I'd rather keep it sportsman-like and not actually see how its done until after the deadline and believe me, I think clacksman and DOUQA are gonna show me how its done. :)

Nonsense:)The car is capable of it. You are capable of operating all of the controls. YOU CAN GO AS FAST AS ANYBODY.
I know its easier said than done (EDIT: or we'd all be as fast as DHolland) but youll never do it if you dont think you can, your mind has too great a power over your body.

WOW!!! The board has dropped half a second. Dang guys!! Looks like I get to play some catch up now. Except, I really dont think I can get much better than where I am now.

As you please. 👍

Having said that, the new online events may occupy me for the remainder of 69 here so my current splits might be it for me ... get after it and bump me down the board and off the D2 podium so noone has to watch my replay :sly: :dopey:

edit: you've got me by ~.2 in T1 already

My current splits

Still find Suzuka long to take all the corners right :scared: , but have a lot of planned :) for the coming days so might not improve a lot :nervous:.

New splits!

T1:1:02.847
T2:1:55.831

Today might be my last day to improve. I am going to be gone all weekend.

Finally got a hold of a loaner weel so i can try this one some more (my weel started to shift on its own while riding curbs:( ) Was harder then expected to get used to a new weel, but after an hour or so i beat my time that i had with the self shifting weel:P

Hopefully more to come once i get better used to the loaner

First splits:

I had 3 laps when I was about to shave half a sceond or more of my best lap but knowing that when I take that 0.7 off I might actually lead a WRS:drool:the nerves Kick in :grumpy::scared:=:banghead:

Congrats on these awesome splits....I personally can't seem to complete very many circuits at all chasing these times.....

Thanks alot ,just practise more and I'm sure you will do fine(after all it is not every day you get the chance to beat the big guns).

Don’t worry about being competitive; this is all about improving your own game play.
Keep at it, you’ll find that your times will start to tumble soon enough.

Phillip.
