Well, I think that's gonna be it for me this week. I tried again after work today but I can't beat my current splits, not in a full lap anyway. (1'03.318 / 1'56.595)
No doubt i'll have another go this weekend if I get time but I think i've hit the wall (so to speak).

I'm pleased with my final time though, so that'll do for me.

Good luck everyone! Looking forward to seeing the final laptimes.

Happy birthday fot tomorrow mate.

New splits, slower T1, slightly faster T2 and final.

1.01.993
1.55.644

First Splits.

T1 1'03.084
T2 1'56.149

Hopefully i get time for another run, still a bit left in me.

So I improved my lap (finally) and while watching the replay I come up with a question.
At the exit of Degner 2 (just going under the bridge), I have both right wheels on the red&white curb. Then the curb ends leaving my right wheels outside (and not on) the white line briefly. It's paved here (not dirt/grass) and I get back onto the track before the grass restarts.

Clean/dirty?

This has been discussed earlier. I'm fairly sure the verdict was that it's clean.

To be safe I would go by this.

2 wheels on (or vertically in line with) the track at all times
Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track

If the rumble strip or curb finishes and two wheel are not back in contact with the track (tarmac) I would class I'm own as drity and do it again, just to be safe.

But then i like to keep two on the tarmac at all times. :nervous:

Phillip.

All tarmac is track. All rumbles are track.

I did not specify the Green Concrete in this week's rules, so therefore am considering that clean as well. Please don't confuse BRIGHT green concrete next to rumbles with DARK green fake grass.

As long as you have 2 wheels on or vertically in line with an approved track surface, you are clean.

It's ok Kevin i dont like to take the risk, always try to keep two on the black stuff just to be safe.

Living life on the edge makes you go gray and I've enough of that all ready.

You're not the only one here with (some) gray stuff around the temples and/or in the beard dear Philip 👍

Yes indeed. :sly:

I may get to one last try with the Cappi, my Spoon exit is why my T2 slowed with my update today. Couple tenths there if I can clean that up. However I'm at that stage where it takes me ~5 laps to get within .5 of myself so another go may have me submitting the current lap.
C'mon div 2 don't let this noob get on the podium. :dopey:

I had this a few months ago and as long as you're on the tarmac, then you're clean 👍

 you wish! I think this one is more appropriate!

On a WRS related note, looks like D2 and 4 have the slight advantage car-wise, some insane splits at the top of the board, I think a 1'02 T1 is going to be very difficult to achieve in the RX8

Are you people not aware that the Olympic Games are in full swing? Where do you find the time to drive around Suzuka for hours on end?

I imagine the winter olympics are a lot more interesting for you scandinavians than for us Brits, especially seeing as Eddie the eagle no longer competes

Ignoring the Olympics helps quite a bit. Also I'm at less than 90 minutes total so far this week.

Now that I've made my goal I can post.

T1: 1'02.902
T2: 1'56.504

I was that happy meeting my goal with a 1'02, that I paused the game and was going to save just after T1. :dunce:

So I messed up the rest of the lap.

Phillip.

Only 90 minutes with those splits?

It takes me 90 minutes each session to get within .1 of my previous best and then I spend another 2 futile hours trying to improve. I spent Wednesday and Thursday trying to improve my time to no avail and last night after about 2 hours of driving I bested my previous by about .05. I've seen better T1's and better T2's (no 1'55s yet). I can do very good in each sector but haven't managed to put together the perfect lap.

Switching over to the NSX at 600PP last night didn't help much but man was it fun.

I cramp up after about 20 minutes in one spot, so that limits my sessions.
I'd like to sit and play for two straight hours, if I could it seems reasonable that it would take 90 minutes to get close to my previous lap.

The NTSC group I race with runs different combos for each night of the week. I may be better than most at jumping into weird cars and getting fast fast.

Thanks.
