Went back to the drawing board yesterday to find all the missing time and, for S1, I see that using an auto box is what is killing my times as I have improved to a 27.1 but can't see much more as I pretty much nailed it...I figure my exit from T1 and the drag up the hill is probably costing me at least 4 tenths or more but I just can't get on with using manual so will just accept it.

Beyond that, I have looked at the braking zones and experimenting with releasing the brakes earlier than normal and it is helping to turn the car...I set PB's in every sector (though S2 was equal to previous PB) and split in a 20 lap session and improved my lap time 3 times to get a 3 tenths improvement. Am currently 6 tenths off my ultimate full lap time so some improvement needed and I still can't beat my S2 time from 3 days ago despite seeming to be much quicker through that sector . Oh well, will keep at it...only done just over 300 miles in this so have been quite lazy in comparison to the other events :

S1: 27.253
S2: 1:12.720

hello, is it not prohibited to discuss times in here?

From the OP for you:

"
The following information cannot be discussed in this thread (they can, however, be discussed private conversation methods):

  • Total Lap Time
  • Any information which can be used to infer your total laptime

The following information can be discussed in this thread :

  • The first 2 splits: T1 & T2 times
  • Any settings discussion."

Basically, we can discuss anything and everything up until the sector 2 split, discussing anything after that split is against the rules

Wow, ask for more responsibility at work for no extra pay and say bye bye to GT time. My first clean lap. Lots of time out there, did I see someone post how to turn off the wall magnets? Fun car. If it hasn't been posted yet this is powered by a 1L motorcycle engine. So while the 1-2 shift does suck I have found the higher I can keep the revs the better. But looking at my times don't take my advice!

Try 4/9. It's the BB I'm using

Thanks Tuffers, I'll give it a try later.

Have run another 20 laps (yes, I am OCD enough to want to run round numbers :P). Have found some pace from somewhere....I know not but I like!!. Finally got under 27 for S1 (4 times today) and saw a 72.0 S2 split but I had one wheel over the inside of the harbour chicane....have managed 2 S2's with .2, one was slight contact with the wall on entry to the swimming pool complex and the other one was with a best full lap with a .3 gain at the line. However, this one I am not 100% sure about and wanted to get clarification on it.

I know at the chicane we are not allowed to put the wheel over the kerb but what about at the hairpin? My fastest lap I had a wheel over the inside of the kerb (didn't touch any walls, invisible or otherwise) and not sure if that counts as dirty or not, despite it not being specifically mentioned in the OP. I am guessing it is okay but just want a clarification. Thanks:

I'd say it is clean, since clearly have 2 tires on tarmac. 👍

On another note:
I am packing up for this week. The splits posted are the ones I will submit. This really is not my kind of track, and there is no reason to torture myself.
On Sunday is another TT. At least I tried my best. This kind of TT clearly shows why I am in Division 4.

Well, you say I have 2 tyres on the tarmac.....I did in fact have one tyre, the right rear on tarmac...the rest were slightly above ground

I respect that you aren't enjoying the TT but, from my own experience, I would say don't give up. I am helped by the fact I love driving this track...even if it is frustrating. I started today's session over a second a lap slower than my best and, after a couple of restarts, I suddenly found the groove and started getting quicker.

That's allowed, Morph, but I think you'll find it's quicker to keep away from that huge rumble at the hairpin. 👍

Thanks for clarifying. As for not being quicker, you'd think so wouldn't you? I actually find it helps a bit as it gets the car round quicker....it shows in that it was my quickest lap so far

Well you could be right...I think the only times I've hit it I didn't actually get the inside wheels hooked on the rumble like you have, I only hit it in such a way so that it pushed me farther toward the right wall. Gotta try that hooky thing as it's been known to help on certain other tracks *cough*Cape Ring.

Having fun on a new G27 (at a rig set-up I'm doing :)) Can't seem to do anything in sector 1 but all else is great!

27.050

And 4 tenths at the line :D
Just saw this, nice T2 Phil. 👍 I had 3 laps with low 11.3's in my last session but all had minor "problems". I'll be trying to catch up this weekend. :)

Almost forgot to add my splits seeing as the lap is legal. Still using b/b of 3/10 and still messing with when to release the brake etc. Having seen a 72.0 S2 split, albeit with one wheel just over the boundary at the chicane, has made me think I should be able to get into the 1s for that split. Anyway, I have at least got a legal split which is 5 tenths quicker than my previous best split so can't really complain:

S1: 26.829
S2: 1:12.229

Well I'm done. Can't get into any rhythm at all. And I know I'm leaving half a second out there. Time submitted and accepted

Have a good weekend all.

Finally manage to get some free time to run this TT and very quickly got frustrated with the amount of good laps I had the discard because of the chicane.
It true what they say he thou if you're not brushing the barriers you're not trying hard enough.

First decent splits

T1 26.889
T2 1:11.339
