As an individual competitor this week I've found the trial and error of playing with a tune really enlightening...as an avid GT player for the past 8-9 years it's embarrassing I've never really had a go at tuning. Here are my current splits:
15.217
37.650
This was from a fairly unremarkable lap and I feel that another 0.5 is probably achievable for me and a true driver would surely smash this well out of the park. In particular, I can personally see a 14.xxx T1 which would be sweet next time I get some "seat" time.
Here is my tune that I feel pretty happy with as is, the car drives beautifully now and is controllable when sliding it into a corner too...which I feel is necessary to have a competitive T2...that corner before the uphill climb is hard to prepare well for:
Ride Height: 95 , 50 (Front = highest, Rear = lowest)
Spring Rate: 7.53 , 8.25 (This is untouched from default)
Dampers (compression): 3 , 3 (Untouched)
Dampers (extension): 3 , 3 (Untouched)
Anti-roll bars: 3 , 3 (Untouched)
Camber: 0.0 , 0.0 (Apparently Camber is broken in GT6 so 0.0 is recommended)
Toe: 1.0 , 0.0 (Front is maximum, rear is neutral)
Brake Balance: 5 , 6 (Seemed to feel stable for me)
In order to get my gearing I set the "Final Gear" all the way to the right (5.500) and then the "Top Speed" all the way to the left (whatever the smallest number is) and then I set the Top Speed to 290kmh (180mph). You should then be able to get the following Gear Ratios (which if you're interested are supposed to help you change gears into the peak torque zone...if I've done the calculations right...kind of feels like good shift points to me):
Gear 1: 2.453
Gear 2: 1.898
Gear 3: 1.469
Gear 4: 1.115
Gear 5: 0.880
Gear 6: 0.681
Centre Diff: 50:50 (I tried lots here and this seemed to work best)
Diff Initial: 5 , 5 (Minimum)
Diff Accel: 20 , 60 (I feel this was one of the most effective changes)
Diff Braking: 5 , 5 (Minimum)
Downforce: 150 , 350 (maximum)
If you use a variation of this that helps I would love to hear your reasoning for the changes. I don't mind if it's after submission time, I understand we're all enemies for now
...but after submission I'd like to keep learning something about tuning. Even if some of those experienced tuners could offer some insights with this car/track combo it would be awesome!
Happy driving folks!
