Merry Christmas! Did anyone else find the book under their tree this year?

My copy was a gift from my son, however it never made it under the tree.:D

Great job to you both!👍

As Famine mentioned earlier, reading thru the book made me want to replay the earlier games.

Now if I could remember where my PS1 is.......

Happy Holidays!

Will I be able to view this book on the Kindle Fire? I'm thinking about a possible purchase but I want to know if it is compatible.

Yep, you should be fine. I use the Kindle app to view it on my Galaxy Tab.

I have received reports of formatting issues on some Kindle models.

To see what it would look like on your own, simply download the free sample chapter and load it onto your device. 👍

Got my copy for Christmas.
The book says you can get free updates, I thought only digital versions could get new content?

No, everyone who buys a copy will be able to download the updates. The new content and the corrections contained in the updates will be available to download as an independent PDF.

Ordered my copy earlier, should be here in a week or so...which means i should be a premium member tomorrow....:)

I really like the details in the PDF file where it says the buyer on all pages. Makes it kinda unique. :dopey:

And it's probably due to copyrights too. :)

I received the Combo pack for Christmas. Book looks great and is very interesting to thumb through. Great job Andrew and Jordan.👍

Yes when these names come together they make something truely great.. (Andrew Jordan :sly::lol:)

Anyway heres mine complete with a bit of writing, yes I used a Dominos box from work to write on cause I had no paper .

Thanks Jordan and Famine for making it. It is a truely epic book :D.

Thanks for sharing that; I love these photos of the shipped books. :D

Enjoy!

I was just reading the sample chapter to get a taste for what it's like and noticed a possible error. On pages 19 and 20, whilst reading about the All Night Endurance (1&2), I think I spotted a mistake with the total Prize Money for each of the events. You say:

"Prize Money:
1st 150,000cr; 20,000cr Pole Position bonus, no Championship, maximum prize money of
320,000cr"

Should the maximum prize money not just be 170,000cr, instead of 320,000cr ?
I know this is miniscule, but I thought I'd point it out.

You are quite correct. It's a copy & paste error (of mine  ).

It's been logged already, but it's good to have folk on the case.

Can't seem to find the errors thread so forgive me if this has already been said. It's very minor but a niggle for my Fwd loving side. Both Clio and Lutecia 2.0 16Vs are listed as MR when it should be FF :).

Still loving the book though :D.

You're right. How irritating.

Not that you're right. The error.

Want more errors?

Gran Turismo 1:

"Sunday Cup"
B-licence required, no vehicle restrictions, 3 races:
1. Autumn Ring Mini (2 laps)
2. High Speed Ring (2 laps)
3. Grand Valley East (2 laps)

"Clubman Cup"
A-licence required, no vehicle restrictions, 3 races:
1. Autumn Ring Mini (2 laps)
2. High Speed Ring (2 laps)
3. Grand Valley East (2 laps)

Big copy/paste there, as the races should be;

1. Autumn Ring Full (2 laps)
2. Special Stage Route 5 short (2 laps)
3. Trial Mountain (2 laps)

;)

As GTPedia was bought for me as a Christmas gift, how do I get the PDF and corrections? Should I post a photo of the book with my username by it to prove I have it?

If your gift was purchased as a "Combo" (which includes the eBook and the paperback edition), the link to download the file was sent to the email address used to complete the purchase. You'll need to check with whomever purchased the book for you for that.

The first update for the book has not yet been released. When it is, instructions on how to download it will be made available on the book's webpage, https://www.gtplanet.net/gtpedia/.

Want more errors?
No, I've kinda gone off them.

Jordan's better placed to answer this, but there'll have been an e-mail address registered when the book was bought. The "first" (hopefully only!) set of corrections hasn't been sent out yet, so you're not missing anything at the moment.

Edit: Also, that.

My book arrived earlier, had a good thumb through...its great!, was particully interested in the Gran Turismo 2 chapter as i have recently bought the game having never played it before..

..also, a big well done to the both of you on the book and to those who helped contribute..hope its a big success!👍:)

I'd have thought that would be there by now. Keep your eye out for it in the next day or so.

So I collect signed books. What are the chances of getting this signed by either Famine or Jordan?

Well... so far I've signed one copy and it was the same one Jordan signed, so about 1 in (total physical sales)

Essentially, if you ask for one, we'll sign one. It's trickier getting us both to sign one as it needs to be sent across the Atlantic first before being sent on to its owner...

Hmmm, I get comics signed all the time, why not this book too?

That would be cool to get one signed, by both of you. Heck, everyone I've raced with over the years would be rad too. I'll mull that over.....

Hmm I think I might have to do this if you don't mind getting a package from the US. Ill gladly put in some money for return shipping too, I'm sure I still have some pounds laying around from '07.

As you're in the U.S., it would probably be best for you to wait until Famine takes delivery of the "UK Edition" that we're having printed within the next week or so.

That way, he can sign it, then send it to me, then I can send it to you via domestic mail, saving you from having to pay for two rounds of international shipping to and back again from the UK.

Just keep an eye out for the formal announcement of the UK edition, then place your order and send the confirmation number over to Famine so he can make a note of it. 👍
