I'm so close to giving up on turning the CLK into a race winner. It just can't do it like it used to. Why is it so rubbish? I've tried so many tunes, but nothing can get me anywhere near frontrunner laptimes.

Chassis numero 3! Got the set up pretty much as close as I'll get it. Now the important part. What colour wheels!?!?
 
Peter. The. Viper is slower this season too.

I ran low 50's last season. My GT500 cars I'm faster after spec 2.0. But tue Viper is slower. You complaining about the CLK.

Maybe my tunes that far off. Something is off that's for sure.

Yes, you're very right. The CLK has changed from a well balanced, properly planted machine able to move mountains anywhere except for Monaco, to a FWD car. I've tried several tunes, but I just can't get it back to what it once was.

But the Merc seems to have been compromised even more so than the Viper has. If I can get 1:49's by green flag, i'll be satisfied, but that's a big mountain to climb.

I should be able to break the 49s in the race I was hitting 50.1 in practice @owens you sure you don't want to race in the other Corvette it would be great see them both there tonight...
 
I fell in love with that ZR1 when I first got it. Managed to take the fight to LMP's online, which was pretty good. Iv'e tried to keep away from the cars that have less downforce values, as I like my cornering grip, but i'll look into it. As soon as I got GT5 I vowed to get one of the ZR1's and paint it Yellow. It's beautiful.

It must have some downforce the corvette It was very strong in the GT2 class in this series last season it came close to pole at GPF only to beaten by the Audi think it was...
 
I haven't noticed much difference between spec 2 and before, except the tire grip. Its more accurate based on temp and wear level... I could give you my basic tune if you're interested.

Heres my clk setup.. You can try removing the high rpm turbo. I was having a lot of power oversteer out of the corners, and usually have it off.. Didn't know I had it on so that was probably the cause (extra torque). Its an oversteery setup which I think you like.

fwiw I dont use high rpm turbo on hardly anything. The extra torque causes issues imo. Even my 700hp BMW v12 in BK's series I dont run a turbo.

After the race is over reality comes crashing down on me.....research paper. for those 2 hours that we practice qualify and race i couldn't have a care in the world lol.

Hello guys! Drivers briefing race #3 Suzuka International Circuit. Just like the first round the track will open at 7:30PM US EST(GMT-5).

-Free practice, track will open at 7:30PM EST(GTM-4) for free practice.

-Qualifying, at 8:00 PM everyone must be on the lobby and ready to start the legality verification process. Every driver will have at least 20 minutes to qualify. Any driver that leaves the track and goes to the settings menu may recieve a time penalty aded to the final results.

-Pace lap, the pole sitter will lead the field at 60mph arround the track. Please give each other plenty of space here.
Once the polesitter reaches the chicane he will slow down to 35mph. Guys do not be afraid to come up side to side in your respective spots. Remember we start double file.
The pole sitter will be cleared to accelerate away when he reaches the start/finish line. The pole siter has to cross the line in first place. Any overtaking before the leader crosses the line will be rewarded with a time penalty of 50 seconds.

-Again I expect everyone to give plenty of room to each other on the pace lap.

-Any on track incidents will be dealt with after the race and the text chat is not to be used during the race.

-I case your car sustains engine damage, or is severely damaged you are expected not to race for possition or try to deffend your possition.

-Off tracks, if you go off track please do not imediately rejoin the track. Use your map and make sure no cars are near and do so in a spot clear of traffic.

-Any on track incident needs to be reported to the race stewards within 24 hours of the race start.

-In any case resulting on penaties, infractions, warnings or probations it will be announced on the 2nd post under the "important announcements" section.

The Ford is so damn fast. I was 4 tenths up on a 1:49.2, until I binned it. But it shows just how fast it really is.


Meanwhile, I think the CLK is the worst car in the series at the moment.

Good race all. Not to bad for being a second down in quali on the front runners. Was hoping they'd wreck each other more though, lol.

I took apart my pedals and found the issue. Where the sensor mounts had geese seeping from the joint, cleaned it up and works perfect now! ... Wait damn there goes that excuse, lol

Will I ever find a break?

I manage to stick the car 6th on the grid for qualifying, ahead of the Vipers, and only around 1 second off of the frontrunners at most. Then during the countdown, I get disconnected. I luckily came back, but had to start at the very back, in 15th. Things never really did turn around for me, and so I was just getting lapped by VELOCI, tripped him up a little bit by accident, trying to unlap myself, as I was significantly faster than him and only got lapped due to an off. Then soon after, my internet decides to grenade itself, again. Dsiconnected.

There goes my championship hopes. Much too far to even think of making a comeback, plus I probably have the worst car in the entire series right now. I kid you not, the CLK is probably the worst car right now. It's not even like there is any better options for me. Tested the McLaren while the race was going on, and it was even worse. Looks like i'm stuck with it, until we do another random draw for S4, if we do.

It was scary on lap 24... I expected to have no front grip half way through. I've never ran the tires so low in the game. I stopped to early on lap 11 messing up my schedule (follow the leader in the pits.. Well blaze). So had to run long on the middle stint.

Yeah, its usually advantageous to pit 1 lap early; the flipside is you have to put 1 more lap on the next stint, and since this race was fairly even, 11-12-12 was the winning strat, not the 10-12-13 ;p
