Just stupid! 'The Real Driving Simulator" has just become just another arcade for the 5 lap racers! Well done PD!

Try to fixed now, alone lol.

Mediums last a bit longer but lose grip fast and are about a second slower on small tracks. 6 laps at Deep Forest were all I could do with the CLK. Even with grip set to low, not real, the tires last maybe 1 more lap. GP/F 5 laps at most. Going by this maybe TC would help, maybe not. Going to be lots of pitting.

Tested a bit today with Magz, Supra, and Lucky.

1:50s softs,1:52s with meds, and 1:54s with hards.

Didn't check medium tire life though.. Softs are about 6 laps max, 12 for hards.. assume mediums will be about 9.

Throttle control and clean lines are essential for tire life and stability.

Its amazing how one day you can be playing a game and then the next day the game gets turned upside down. they werent suppose to make the softs last shorter time . they where supposed to make the hards go longer. The soft tires were already pathetic.

I was just doing some testing and the Meds last exactly the same as Softs, Hards lasted a bit longer.
Out lap, 5 laps, in lap for both the Meds and Softs.
10 laps for the hards. At the end there was absolutely no tire left, inlap was arround 2:20...
A total game changer no doubt!

That just shows how passionate the people at PD are about cars and racing! Just stupid!

I wouldn't be surprised if the haven't fixed it! In fact they've created a new one!

Geez man. Are you getting a yellow light at all? If not, then there's hope! A red flashing light usually means that your system is overheating, or there maybe damaged internal components from overheating. It is also possible that your PS3 internal HDD may have corrupt system files or a bad sector(s). You can attempt a full system restore. However this may lead do data loss.

To access the PS3's recovery menu, make sure the system is in standby mode (solid red light). Next, hold down the power button until you hear a third beep and the system shuts off again. Next, press and hold the power button again until you hear two beeps in sequential. The following menu for the recovery mode should appear:

1. Restart System: Restarts the PLAYSTATION®3 System.
2. Restore Default Settings: Reset all system settings back to default.
3. Restore File System: Checks for corrupt/missing system files.
4. Rebuild Database: Rebuilds the OS for the PLAYSTATION®3.
5. Restore PS3 System: Fresh restore; Deletes everything and starts from Scratch.
6. System Update: Update the PLAYSTATION®3 System.

Be careful with option number 5, as all data on your internal HDD will be deleted.

NOTE: If you attempt to restore your system, it is recommended that you backup any important files (such as save data) onto an external device as data loss may occur.

I know that this isn't a good place to post this, but I thought I'd give some advice.

Back on topic, it seems that this new update is...well, for the lack of a better term, lame? I haven't tried it out myself, but it seems like people are frustrated mostly over the tire wear situation. Well, if PD gets enough complaints about it, they may rectify it. Or not. Whatever.

On the previous pictures by Jav:
How the hell did that happen? I really don't see any variables, triggers, or anything else that could've caused that! In a way, it's pretty funny though. And the damage, the race didn't even start. Actually, the bug could've happened just before the race started (free run before the race). I wonder if the the other racers saw it?

People are resistant to change... I personally like the new update.

That said, they ruined racing softs, IMO, but in doing so there's now 2 viable tire options instead of 1. Eventually I guarantee they'll fix it.

Someone says there is backfire on the upshifts now. So now theres backfire every time you change a gear up or down. I tried yet though. only in that car apparently.

ToyotSupra i think you will find a pleasant surprise with your ZR1 RM.

Yep I hope so

@ Jav about those photos I didn't know you change tires I think on the pit straight?

My PB around GPF is a 1.50.4 i believe in the Corvette

Any rooms open?

I guess we qualify on softs. Then befor the race starts, have everyone pull into the pits and change tires. Then start the race.

So, since I didn't get points for the race at Monaco, and the GTR's are supposedly taken, can I use the Ford GT Race car? Or is there anything else I can use Jav?

Guess where just screwed. Me zonda doesnt like hards:crazy:

The Viper seems to like the hards, but the lap times are about 3.5 to 4 sec. off from the softs. I did a 1:52 with the Softs and I think mustardaddict was in the 1:50's. With softs you get a warm up lap, then maybe 2 fast laps, after that about 2 laps and pit. With hards I got about 10 laps. If someone gets 12 laps out of hards, awesome because your probably on thins by this lap.:scared:
I finally got to enjoy running medium & hard tires for the first time in the game.👍

I'm back guys!!!
Good to have you back Pipi!

No need for that, everyone just needs to enter the room on hards or the tire they plan on using for the race then change to softs on the pits.

You and I are in the same boat, and by boat, i mean zonda on hards, lol
Just give us some time guys, things are being evaluated and I think we've found a way to turn this whole tire wear mess into an oprtunity to get the cars closer than ever.

Yes sir you can, but you might want to wait a little before making your final decision...

Are we using racing hands for qualifying and then when you need to pit change to racing Softs wet rain tires when it's raining?
