gogatrsJust a suggestion for the pace lap, but what if we all lined up VERY gently, bumper to bumper then hit the start button so the computer controls the car, we could do this until the chicane where we could continue at roughly the same speed.
This could reduce the number of accidents on the pace lap...
The speed at which the AI drives at when paused is at approximately 15 miles per, significantly slower than whatever the speed limit is in this series (I think it's 50, 60 or 80 mph, though I think it was never disclosed). Plus, if the AI drives, you do not get the chance of warming up your tires before the green flag.
If everyone follows the correct procedure, then there should be no problems. Keep below the speed limit and keep about one to two car lengths behind the car you're in front of. I remember doing a formation lap for one of the practice sessions and there was no problem (except for a little confusion).
Your suggestion is valid, but I really don't see why we need the AI to drive for us.
