This thread will discuss the special details of each track on the ITCC Schedule.


It is specifically dedicated to pre-race and post-race discussion.


This means, effectively, driver's meetings, and a chance for drivers to apologize for mistakes.


Driver's Meetings: these are "guidelines" that give information for each new circuit, and such. This means, that we'll be discussing passing zones (where not to pass,) corner names (even tracks that don't normally otherwise have corner names,) and specific details about kerb usage etc.


Chance to apologize for mistakes: Drivers who apologize and acknowledge their mistakes will be given reduced penalties, or, depending on situation, may have the penalty completely removed.


All drivers may post relevant questions here. I will update the second post before every race, to ensure that the information is up to date, and that the thread is clearly understood.

Next track:

Clubman Stage Route 5

Location: Tokyo, Japan

Track geography type: Dense metropolitan area; highway

Starting procedure:


Races 1 and 2:
Stop boxing after the second timed sector, green flag at start finish line.
Race 3:
Grid box at the Start/Finish line, in appropriate grid box.


Track Notes:

There are fewer braking zones. This track will lend itself to cleaner racing, as long as all drivers give enough room.

I'd like to apologize for contact made with norml804 in race 3, preseason round 3.



While I was attempting a pass, in the tunnel, I bumped norml804. This was an accident. I didn't see his dark blue car, in the darkened tunnel. The incident did not cause damage, nor did it cause loss of position. I believe, that the contact was my fault, but was not significant enough to really be a problem.

sorry to everyone for my start race 2, i explained that i saw a yellow line which in karting is always the acceleration point so i accelerated there, meaning i was about 30mph quicker then anyone by the first corner

In race three I need to apologize to Johnnypenso for turn 2 I think it was either lap 3 or 4. I made contact, and he went off track, hit the guardrail, and spun out.

I need to apologize to someone, I didn't watch the replay yet so I'm not sure who it is...lol. Race 3, couple laps in I was divebombed exiting the tunnel and slammed to the outside of the track exiting the right hander. Cost me some momentum and someone tried to go around me on the outside of the next left hander and I think I slid out and made them kiss the wall. Sorry for that it certainly wasn't my intention.

Are you going to follow GTPlanet Rules of Racing? They are pretty specific about what is and isn't a legal pass, who has corner rights, what to do after contact etc. In my opinion, unless you have something similar already written up, it's the only way to go.

If that's all you're going to apologise for then just get your controls and take them some place else.

There's blocking which is fair, then there's trying to block someone who is half way past your chassis.

There's a safe method to coming back onto the track. Not only did you fail it twice, your 2nd offence was a spectacular effort.

Think about what cars you are in, this ain't go karting where you can be nippy as hell. These are cars which need a good gap for a safe braking / turning distance.

Are you going to follow GTPlanet Rules of Racing? They are pretty specific about what is and isn't a legal pass, who has corner rights, what to do after contact etc. In my opinion, unless you have something similar already written up, it's the only way to go.

Yes, we're following that, and I've also created this supplementary rulebook:

ITCC Championship/Driver Conduct Guidelines.


I will be updating these throughout the week, up 'til Saturday's Preseason round 4 at Tsukuba. It is expected that people have a glance through either the GTPlanet Rules of Racing, the ITCC Conduct Guidelines, or both.


Thanks for the maturity from the drivers. You guys are great for using this. Thank you for making this Drivers' Meetings thread worth the stewarding. I think, that if we can solve a crash without reprimand, and just through words, it's best. Warnings will still be given to all drivers causing crashes, but, after an apology, the warning will be much less severe.

Nizmo, sorry for nudging you on formation lap (in case you didn't see in race), although weaving in that smoke was hard to judge. Also, sorry if I nudged you at Turn 2 of the first racing lap.

Johnny, I'm sorry about the stadium turn (again first racing lap) where I hit you after misjudging my braking zone, no excuses.

cnd, on lap 3, turn 2, sorry I hit you after instinctively avoiding FRAG out of turn 1.

I would like to point out that I didn't gain an advantage, but it did disadvantage the drivers mentioned, in each case.

It's all good Damu ... it was a very good learning curve for me last night. Apart from the on track incidents felt by all it was a thoroughly enjoyable session. Can't wait for next week. Gonna bring all I learnt from lady night.

the time where i pulled on in front of you, the second offence was when i hit the wall and knocked the wire for my stering wheel out as i started to rejoin, which meant i rolled across the track and got hit by cars as they didnt expect me to be rolling across the track, which is why it looked so stupid

anirishnirvana in race 2 i got put off which is why i started going over the top on defending, its not a reason to be stupid i know and im sorry, i dont think i hit anyone, or at least no more then rubbing, in race 1 or 3

This^^ is how to deal with crashes. I think everyone's learning something (which is the absolute number 2 unwritten rule of the series, behind having fun.)

These incidents will likely not be further investigated.

Lap 2:hairpin) johnny wasn't at a dissadvantage because of it! Not saying that what I did was wright but he wasn't at a disadvantage.

True I wasn't at a disadvantage but Frag might have something to say about it. The whole sequence of events was.

Midget appeared to be trying to force CND into the left tunnel wall, failing by only cm's to do so, forcing him up on the curb and unsettling his car for braking into the hairpin.

Midget comes from at least 3 car lengths back to ram into me so hard, my car jumps ahead 2 car lengths, rams Frag hard enough to force him off the racing line.

I shot ahead of Frag thru sheer momentum and Midget comes alongside Frag exiting the hairpin and entering the next left hander.

Midget leaves Frag no room and forces two wheels onto the grass and two wheels barely on the curb and takes the position from Frag.

So yeah, I wasn't at a disadvantage but Frag probably isn't too happy about the whole incident as it cost him two places, and neither would I be if I were him.

That's cool, it's just that when you left the race you only said "Well that was a pointless race!" and I saw your initial post, it seemed to me like you felt you had nothing to apologise for.

I mean it's still preseason so it's not like points are affected or anything

I don't remember doing this, but I don't doubt that I did. I will look at the replay again. Which race was this?

Damu brings up a good point, saying that it wasn't for points. All that I'm really going to do until the normal season starts, is discuss some crashes and check the validity of every entry (cars and drivers.) Obviously, this discussion is going well, so, I bet most of you know where you went wrong.

Tsukuba, I promise, will be cleaner.

I like that we are self-moderating in pre-season and all understand where things went wrong.

We used Tsukuba in the last season of BTCC and it's very good for close and clean racing. There was barely a touch in both of our races there!

Yep, I agree.

You know, I've always been hot under the collar, but, I'm learning that even the names on the other side of the screen have emotions. We might be a skilled pro-am driver, polishing our real-life clean passing, like me, or we might be someone looking for a good time for little money. There's just one thing that we're here for; friendly competitions.

Who cares if you win or get third? You're all here to have fun and/or learn. EVERYONE WILL WIN. I'm 99% sure. Just drive your own race.

You have 54+ chances to win. Think about it. 5 preseason rounds, 10 normal season rounds, and 3 post-season "make-up rounds." You know, you'll learn something. I bet even Sebastian Vettel would learn SOMETHING if he were here.

Looks like the next round should be fun! In terms of the anti-three wide rule, if two cars are side by side, then a (ahead of the two battling) car infront makes a mistake and slows, none of those drivers are going to give up a place if it comes to three wide, worth noting.

But then the next issue is, if two cars are battling in front, and lets say 'driver 3' behind them has good speed and slows to not cause 3 wide, then the cars behind him are all going to bunch up and take almost free places. So it's worth saying to the drivers that they should hold defensive lines in said situations to avoid followers taking advantage, and to also be aware that other drivers are likely to be defending said positions.

Just a couple of small points

The idea, is that if a mistake is made by one driver, the driver that made the mistake won't be beside the driver that didn't make the mistake. Certainly, an argument could be provided.

The only rule I'm firm about, from that, is the no dive bombing.


Otherwise, I think I'm just putting it out there, as a suggestion, since some drivers might try it, crash, and wonder why they're being warned. It won't necessarily happen, but, I'm hoping to have fewer crashes in this Round, so that the Stewards' inboxes aren't as flooded as they were.

(P.S., that means war, spell check. Inboxes is the plural of inbox!)

Yeah. I might add a simple "If you are defending position, and need to go three wide, do your best to avoid contact." No one can pass you, if you're all three wide on the straight... It would create a dilemma in the next corner, but, mature drivers will be able to survive.
