Having way too much fun with the car at the moment to put a serious lap in.

Got a few times used a controller this time Forza just feels more enjoyable using one imo.

Some more stock times for me, fleshing out the bottom of the board:

01:16.590 - 1945 Jeep Willys MB - 60 HP - 2137 LBS - 4WD - 149 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

The Willys becomes the first (and likely only) vehicle that doesn't require a single touch of the brakes, thanks to it's short gearing stopping it from even hitting 80mph. Just cut the throttle as you turn into the first curve to tuck the nose in, and the skinny tires do the rest of the speed-scrubbing work. A lesson in speed conservation, this was its own kind of fun.

01:09.592 - 1991 Jeep Grand Wagoneer - 144 HP - 4499 LBS - 4WD - 224 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

Call me crazy, but this beast could be a contender. Despite the numbers, it pipped the Celica GT, which has 2/3 the power, but barely more than half the weight. This does not feel like a 4500lb car, it feels far more manageable. The only thing that's really holding it back is the comedy 3-speed. Look forward to an attack on E-Class Modified...

01:15.610 - 1940 Ford De Luxe Coupe - 85 HP - 2970 LBS - FR - 163 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

Sounds fun, but bleeds a lot of power away in turns, can't put it to the road. Definitely an excellent base though, so it's no wonder you see a lot of them putting down seriously quick times in the lower classes online.

01:14.371 - 1983 GMC Vandura G-1500 - 165 HP - 5049 LBS - FR - 185 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

Ugh. This was not enjoyable at all. Not that I expect a 32-year old van to be a natural hotlapper, but at least all that came before it had some entertaining aspects. This has none. It's a hoot when you've tuned it, but stock, it's misery.

01:13.636 - 1949 Mercury Coupe - 110 HP - 3375 LBS - FR - 195 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

Much like above. Sounds a lot nicer though, and is still quite the looker, but you're stuck waiting what seems like an eternity to put power down in turns, since the inside rear will spin away any momentum unless you're perfectly straight.

It looks like @Im_Lukas will win another Weekly Challenge, because I'm still a solid half-second off the pace. super high-powered road cars like the GT aren't my bag, so this had more effort put into it than my more competitive times in other modified classes. I just can't do it. Lukas wins another! Let me know what you'd like to see for the next one, though I think after this, we might have to move away from winner-picks. :P

00:53.035 - 2017 Ford GT - 630 HP - 2891 LBS - MR - 800 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

...

@willbsn13 - You're missing your PI on the Audi. No need for the commas in the weight, and periods instead of colons for the second separator in the times (same for you @caseycar5). Just makes it easier when plugging them into the OP. :)

I've got a day off coming up this week, so I'll be getting the Sheet all properly updated, and get the Modified times in there.

I'll let someone (anyone) else suggest something, I get bored of my own combos quite quickly .

That is a great time for the 2017 GT, I did some testing a few days ago and my order from fastest-slowest (2005 Ford GT, GT40, 2017 GT). There just isn't enough to work with while keeping the 2017 GT within the PI limit.

--

And thanks to weekly challenge 1 I now have my first 5* tune with the Golf I spent hours tuning for Lime Rock, turns out it does pretty well on other tracks too.

Stock!

Sorry I know no one asked me but well... :)

Sure, it was open to anyone to suggest and stock makes a difference from the last 2 events.

So I think the challenge is the 1999 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI GSR vs. 1998 Subaru Impreza 22b STi with both cars stock?

Ok cool, yeah both stock will be great. It will be fun to see which one ends up being faster.

Alrighty, sounds good. I'll update the OP in the morning from the laptop. 👍

...

Another glut of E-Class times:

01:12.728 - 1980 Subaru Brat GL - 69 HP - 2061 LBS - 4WD - 198 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

01:10.501 - 1975 Fiat X1/9 - 61 HP - 2210 LBS - MR - 211 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

01:11.807 - 1956 Ford F-100 - 173 HP - 3325 LBS - FR - 222 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

01:10.891 - 1981 Volkswagen Scirocco S - 74 HP - 2015 LBS - FF - 225 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

01:11.582 - 1970 Datsun 510 - 96 HP - 2127 LBS - FR - 229 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

@SlipZtrEm updated my Audi time with a PI of A700.

Also another stock time

00:59:214 - 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona F&F Edition - 675 HP - 3131 LBS - FR - 674 - willbsn13 - controller

Weekly Challenge 03 is up! I've also tweaked the OP a bit, giving an overview of how many entries in each class for both boards.

My continued march to get every single E Stock car on the board:

01:13.975 - 2006 Hummer H1 Alpha - 300 HP - 8114 LBS - 4WD - 232 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

01:09.889 - 1965 MINI Cooper S - 75 HP - 1480 LBS - FF - 233 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

01:09.600 - 1986 Honda Civic Si - 91 HP - 1955 LBS - FF - 235 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

01:09.101 - 1984 Volkswagen Rabbit GTI - 90 HP - 2100 LBS - FF - 239 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

01:08.942 - 1973 Mazda RX-3 - 110 HP - 2060 LBS - FR - 239 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

01:08.153 - 2013 Vauxhall Astra 1.6 Tech Line TGE - 114 HP - 3104 LBS - FF - 244 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

Apparently the most recent update fixed an exploit on Lime Rock, and times are getting wiped. Luckily, however, it seems it only applies to the chicane versions, not the standard track.

Though I've just noticed I can't find any indication of which ribbon is to be used for this. I'm guessing it's just the full version, no chicanes?

Oh dear, I'd be annoyed if any of my times on here got wiped, since I haven't even heard of any exploit until now.

Yep, full ribbon. 👍

(EDIT) And three more, because why not?

01:08.954 - 1952 Fiat 8V Supersonic - 115 HP - 2050 LBS - FR - 245 - SlipZtrEm - Controller
01:07.605 - 1997 Land Rover Defender 90 - 182 HP - 3902 LBS - 4WD - 245 - SlipZtrEm - Controller
01:08.442 - 1975 Ford Bronco - 205 HP - 3545 LBS - 4WD - 246 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

Genuinely surprised by how well the Defender takes to the track. It just grips and goes, while the Bronco slid all over the place.

Weekly challenge:

00:59.482 - 1999 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI GSR - 280 HP - 2822 LBS - AWD - 490 - lukas2121 - Controller

Pretty proud of this lap, managed to get PBs in both sectors. Will upload a video at some point of the lap.

That's very impressive, I just got the Subaru for a spin and could only manage 1:02.497 I've just taken codeine though due to some awful stomach pain I'm not sure if that affected my lap times but I'm falling asleep as I write this haha. I'll try the Evo when I wake up...

Sayonara!

Here's the replay from my lap for the weekly challenge, first in the view I use with telemetry and then with the replay cameras. Let me know if the sound is wonky, I can't tell right now as my headphone jack is broken and only plays through one side.

Stock

01:04.167 - 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 427 - 435 HP - 3384 LBS - FR - 396 - caseycar5 - Controller

01:05.340 - 1992 Alfa 155 Q4 - 187 HP - 3064 LBS - AWD - 355 - caseycar5 - Controller

Modified

00:53.995 - 1997 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec - 523 HP - 2815 LBS - AWD - 800 - caseycar5 - Controller

I had added these to the OP but forgot to post. First off, the Weekly Challenge cars:

01:00.568 - 1998 Subaru Impreza 22B STi - 276 HP - 2800 LBS - 4WD - 459 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

Really enjoyed the Scoob, even if I knew it wouldn't be able to compete. It has a fun balance and sounds great.

01:00.492 - 1999 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI GSR - 280 HP - 2822 LBS - 4WD - 490 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

The Evo and I just don't get along. I'm slightly over a second adrift of Lukas' time! I just found it understeery and generally less fun than the 22B, and struggled to get this time.

And now, my usual E Class love:

01:09.794 - 2011 Ford Transit SuperSportVan - 198 HP - 4493 LBS - FR - 246 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

Er, about what I'd expect of a van. Wasn't terrible to drive all things considered, but certainly not fun like some of the other unlikely vehicles.

01:08.102 - 1953 Chevrolet Corvette - 160 HP - 2900 LBS - FR - 247 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

You can tell the car is relying on 60 year old tire tech! Fun enough regardless, and definitely has the makings of a competitor once modified.

01:07.302 - 1972 Mazda Cosmo 110S Series II - 128 HP - 2110 LBS - FR - 251 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

What a blast. Felt faster than it is, which is fine; it was still fastest out of this batch bar a certain car later. Sounds fantastic.

01:07.471 - 1988 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS - 180 HP - 3522 LBS - FR - 254 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

Isn't as pig-like as you'd expect, but certainly isn't the proverbial scalpel like the Cosmo. Drive it like a truck.

01:07.333 - 1966 Ford Lotus Cortina - 115 HP - 2060 LBS - FR - 256 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

The poor Cortina felt far slower than it was. I was frustrated, thinking it was losing a bunch of time in every corner, only to find that no, it was flying. :D

01:05.536 - 1986 Alfa Romeo Spider Quadrifoglio Verde - 115 HP - 2549 LBS - FR - 259 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

No wonder @Im_Lukas picked this for modified; look at that time! It beats the GTV-6 despite being 17 points down the PI scale, and sits fourth in class, behind two 300 PI cars. It'll be interesting to see how many cars sitting at 270+ will slot in above it...

01:07.546 - 1988 Volkswagen Scirocco 16v - 123 HP - 2365 LBS - FF - 269 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

What a let down. A massively-understeering, slow, let down. Really wanted the Scirocco to do well, but it was not in the mood. Disappointing is an understatement.

...

@caseycar5 - Since your times put us over the 100 mark, I'd like to nominate you for the next weekly challenge theme!

Weekly challenge 03 entry

01:00.359 - 1998 Subaru Impreza 22B STi - 276 HP - 2800 LBS - AWD - 459 - caseycar5 - Controller

As for the weekly challenge goes how about something like this Aston Martin vs Jaguar. The cars can be modified but must be under 660 PI.

Edit
Or maybe all British cars modified under 660 PI.
Being under 660 will exclude the track day cars.

Got it. Updated the Weekly Challenge. I've also added a few more of my usual E Stock times, and one modified E.

00:56.924 - 2015 Jaguar F-Type R Coupe - 550 HP - 3638 LBS - FR - 640 - lukas2121 - Controller

Stock time and maybe qualifies for the weekly challenge? Not a great lap but the car is a great drive, very challenging to keep it on the edge of traction.

Yet more E Stock times:

01:04.876 - 1985 Mazda RX-7 GSL-SE - 135 HP - 2575 LBS - FR - 277 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

01:04.959 - 1985 Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT Apex - 128 HP - 2094 LBS - FR - 278 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

01:05.514 - 1969 Nissan Fairlady Z 432 - 160 HP - 2308 LBS - FR - 280 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

01:05.373 - 1992 Volkswagen Golf GTI 16v Mk2 - 139 HP - 2425 LBS - FF - 281 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

By my count, I've got about 14 left. Then, I can start on D Class!

I'll get a weekly challenge time in for the week too, probably tomorrow after work.

Weekly Challenge:

00:55.245 - 2012 Aston Martin V12 Zagato - 519 HP - 3329 LBS - FR - 660 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

I botched the second-last turn, so there's definitely a 54 out there with this car. Feels good, doesn't oversteer too much.

And, the usual:

01:07.216 - 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air - 220 HP - 3337 LBS - FR - 282 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

01:05.513 - 1971 Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R - 160 HP - 2425 LBS - FR - 283 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

01:03.873 - 1980 Abarth Fiat 131 - 140 HP - 2161 LBS - FR - 284 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

01:05.342 - 1973 Ford Capri RS3100 - 148 HP - 2315 LBS - FR - 285 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

01:06.136 - 1954 Jaguar XK120 SE - 210 HP - 3015 LBS - FR - 286 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

In order: could've been a contender if it weren't paired with comedy 2-speeder; despite Motorsport heritage, this felt surprisingly tame; just demolished everything else, utterly impressive grip levels; relied on its torque to get a faster time than expected; understeers a lot thanks to bicycle tires, but surprising agile considering.

Modified:

00:55.191 - 1949 Mercury Coupe - 562 HP - 2717 LBS - FR - 700 - lukas2121 - Controller

I don't know what compelled me to do this but I spent a good 2 hours working on this car just for Lime Rock despite it not being a very good A class car.

Also to show how screwed up the benchmark stats are: 0-60 mph in 4.651 seconds, 0-100 mph in 3.623 seconds.

Weekly Challenge 05: Halloween Hellcat Stock Challenge

In the spirit of the spooky holiday, we're running around the track in a car with an appropriately-scary name: Dodge's insane, 707HP Challenger Hellcat. Head on out in a stock example and learn the definition of the word "restraint".

Modified:

00:55.191 - 1949 Mercury Coupe - 562 HP - 2717 LBS - FR - 700 - lukas2121 - Controller

Heh, silly benchmarks!

Another 5 E Stock times. There are 5 more left, and then I'm done the entire class!

01:03.244 - 1994 Mazda MX-5 Miata - 128 HP - 2330 LBS - FR - 288 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

01:08.326 - 2013 Ram Ram Runner - 390 HP - 5949 LBS - 4WD - 288 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

01:03.668 - 1993 Nissan 240SX SE - 155 HP - 2915 LBS - FR - 288 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

01:04.333 - 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 - 175 HP - 3560 LBS - FR - 288 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

01:08.121 - 2011 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor - 411 HP - 6006 LBS - 4WD - 291 - SlipZtrEm - Controller

The MX-5 made it apparent almost immediately that it would be the new leader. I guess Miata really is always the answer. I was surprised at how close the Nissan came to it, as it definitely didn't feel faster than the Abarth from the last batch. The Camaro was also surprising, because it felt heavy at first, but could carry surprising speed through the first turn.

The two trucks felt remarkably similar, which I suppose shouldn't be surprising considering the stats. The Ram was arguably more fun to drive around, even if the Ford has the better gearing.

Fun facts about the board:

  • The NA Miata is 93 PI lower than the MS3 above it on the list, yet they're separated by only two hundredths of a second.
  • We have a tie on the board (Joey D in two different Modified vehicles, with a 01:01.983).
  • We have a 0.001 difference (yours truly in two Stock vehicles, 01:05.513/01:05.514).
  • We have a 0.002 difference (caseycar5 and I in two Stock vehicles, 01:05.340/01:05.342).
  • We have a 0.004 difference (yours truly in two Stock vehicles, 01:04.751/01:04.755).
  • E Stock represents slightly under half of the total entries. Sorry!

2 more cars for my garage, decided to try them out both stock and modified in the classes I will race them the most. Being able to see their characteristics while stock made me more considerate of which upgrades to add, for example the Hellcat understeers way too much for my liking so my main focus was adding grip to the front of the car. Oddly enough I had no problems with oversteer using the stock Hellcat which was the complete opposite to what I was expecting.

I may start doing this more often (setting stock and modified times) when I buy new cars as my garage number is currently going up a bit too quickly (246 cars as of this post) and I don't experience many of the cars I've bought.
